This is pretty amazing. The ranger at the beginning is struggling to explain something so complex, beyond his understanding, beyond anyone's understanding. Even the monks cannot say what this is about, except in the simplest aspects of it.
And even he claims he lost his ability to speak directly with God due to his unworthiness. That shows how much devotion is truly necessary to reach that level of a relationship with God, I’m far from that but hopefully my spirit drives me to that point one day 🙏
When I get out of High School I am also going out and living as a hermit monk. I want to further my faith and go where God needs me. I also would like the life style. I wonder what exactly it will be like.

He went and spoke with the hermits living on the outskirts of Alexandria for direction. Please be careful, this can be very dangerous for a monk without direction. Seeking out a spiritual Father is very important.

We pray for the gift of "discernment of spirits" - from the Holy Spirit which we ask for humbly from Christ our God.

I don't believe in Christianity, nor any of the major religions. I don't agree with everything monks say, I don't condemn violence, but I believe in this path. at it's most fundamental point. We created these religions, true, yet we imbued them with what resided within us in the first place. What resides within us is therefore indeniable. You can't write it off as religious nonsense. And what resides within me speaks and screams and cries endlessly of loneliness, of jealousy, of love, of devotion, of the depravity of humanity; essentially, the need to love and be loved, in devotion, and connection with divine love, and everything else in the world derives meaning solely from this.

The monk life is calling me... I've felt it since I was 12 (I'm 20 now ). I need to stop denying it and get close to the Almighty. This is the way that will bring me to wisdom and understanding.

I don't believe in Christianity, nor any of the major religions. I don't agree with everything monks say, I don't condemn violence, but I believe in this path. at it's most fundamental point.
We created these religions, true, yet we imbued them with what resided within us in the first place. What resides within us is therefore indeniable. You can't write it off as religious nonsense. And what resides within me speaks and screams and cries endlessly of loneliness, of jealousy, of love, of devotion, of the depravity of humanity; essentially, the need to love and be loved, in devotion, and connection with divine love, and everything else in the world derives meaning solely from this.

Christianity was not really a human invention. The old covenant was given by God to Abraham and his descendants, and then fulfilled in Christ. We did not invent Christianity, God revealed himself to the (what would be) early Christians, fulfilling the covenant made by God at Abraham´s time

The monk life is calling me... I've felt it since I was 12 (I'm 20 now ). I need to stop denying it and get close to the Almighty. This is the way that will bring me to wisdom and understanding.
Don't forget that humility is key..without humility the monk life will destroy you because pride will get in the way.

@@stanleystove Because god gave us all free will, and both evil and good exist in the world. Therefore, many will choose good but many will also choose evil. Therefore being away from everyone prevents encountering any possible evil.
