- My wife makes a guest appearance and joins me for a fun and heartfelt reaction to David Phelps and the Gaither Vocal Band's stunning performance of "It Is Well" at the Israel Homecoming! My wife and I dive into this powerful rendition, even though she’s not the biggest fan of this kind of music. Watch as I try to convert her with the amazing vocals and harmonies! David played Adam and Noah in Children of Eden in New York this past winter at the Metropolitan Opera. The music for it was written by Stephen Schwartz, who wrote the music for Wicked. David was invited to be a part of this production, which was a great honor.

FYI - David chooses to perform for the glory of God, he doesn’t go after fame or fortune… it’s all about worshipping God and spreading His word thru song. he has done a few “theatrical” performances but prefers that concert environment. As u can tell I am obsessed with David’s vocal talents (in a good way) lol 😂

I hate to say this--though I'm going to, with love....--I've never seen anyone so unaffected by the anointing God has on David. Seriously. Not to be mean, I'm just curious how that's possible when I've seen so many people on here (some not even Christians) practically end their "reaction" channels and just focus on David Phelps. Interesting.
Most of my family and others have the same reaction she does. But most of them are not musical and arnt that into southern gospel. I think most can recognize his talent but it doesn't affect them like us because they arnt into it.
Just like I can someone can watch Tom Brady play QB and not be effected because its not what they are into.

This song (not this version) was my introduction to David Phelps and GVB. They did a Homecoming at Billy Graham's place in North Carolina. Wesley Pritchard sang the Penrod part and David, who seemed to be fairly new, did the same second verse. He was much less "flourish-y" than here and I liked that a lot better. It's like their "Let Freedom Ring" vids...the video filmed at Carnegie Hall was absolutely spectacular. Other versions, where David gets....creative....just don't hit with the same power as Carnegie. Hilarious to watch you two, it kind of reminds me of my household although my husband now watches the Gaither videos where David is singing too after rolling his eyes at me so I have to chuckle. Plus I got him to agree to go to Tennessee and attend the Labor Day Barn Bash last year so he’s hooked now LOL.

Josh, I sit here nodding my head at the computer as you describe David. I love this song,watching this video and I am smitten, total fanatic. David was blessed with a perfect instrument and he shares his gift with us like this. gives me chillbumps, racing heart and all those in love feelings. if was his mom, he'd be my favorite child. tell your wife I like to sing along also and the audience is too. if I can't sing along, it's not music to me.

I with you Josh on David's voice. Top Tenor. Guy is a good looking dude alright. A LARGE part of his attraction is his lovely soft eyes when he smiles. There is a beautiful 'godliness' , a love in them that is unmistakable. His love for Gid, for his Wife and children and his love and appreciation of his friends is just so obvious. His hair is gorgeous but the important thing about THAT is that he grew it for his wife. SHE LOVES IT. He happily pleases her by growing his hair so no one else's opinion really counts 😅. But many of us think he is a very handsome, manly man. More importantly, a GODLY man.

Love. You should look up a group called HOME FREE and their version of “How great thou art”. It’s my favorite version an a cappella group. I think you will be impressed.

This is what I go through when I get my husband to listen to Home Free because he hates country music so much. But at least he was very impressed with David.
