This song is a masterpiece! The words have great meaning, and it makes me think about freedom...even life begins because a baby fights for freedom or some face hell for freedom's dream. This concert was done a few months after 9-11and some of the New York firefighters are seated near the front of the stage. Another song from this concert is called A Few Good Men (David does not sing this one 😢), and during the song, they bring the firefighters up on stage. It's a wonderful way to honor them. Bill and Gloria did a fantastic job composing this song, and my favorite lines are the ones David sings:
"God builds freedom into every fiber of creation,
And He meant for us to all be free and whole,
Oh, but when my Lord bought freedom with the blood of His redemption,
His cross stamped pardon on my very soul."
Tears flow every time i hear this song. Thank you for reacting to it.

I like the words to this song , all the those guys have good voices , but David’s anointed voice always stands out! Josh have you heard David sing the star spangled banner live at the Alabama theater? he takes to to a whole new level!

LOVE This! One of my all time favorites! You probably already know this but Bill Gaither recognized that David just owned this song and he will never let the vocal band perform it unless David is there to sing his part. Bill has had several vocal band reunion concerts of past and present members and when David is there they do this song. I think the last time I saw them do it was 2022 and David still killed it. For fans of David’s he’s releasing a new CD this fall, he’ll be showcasing it at the 2024 Labor Day Barn Bash and it will be released publicly right after that so look for that in September. Thanks Josh for showing this on 4th of July. The perfect song for it. Happy 4th of July!

Yes, what a great song, very well sung by the Gaither Vocal Band. Thank you for sharing it on the 4th! Many reactors do not mention or give Bill & Gloria Gaither credit for writing this song and around 700 others. Bill says he comes up with a hook or line, gives it to Gloria to fill in the rest of the lyrics. She is a master poet.

This was filmed shortly after 9/11/2001. So this concert was paying tribute to the first responders who fought and put their lives in danger that day. I think this is one of the best concerts they filmed.
