Yeah...cassel and mobley get credit but the real reason the clips won so much in 06 was brand

Most underrated NBA star of the 2000s in my opinion. It's a shame all those fantastic 20 and 10 seasons amounted to only 1 playoff run during his prime.

Textbook low post player with ability to put the ball on the floor drive the to the basket and draw contact, he could play off picks with a deadly mid-range.
What a shame EB didn't get the recognition he deserved as a player because he played for an historically bad team, if he played for the Spurs I'm pretty sure he would be more recognized today. Glad hes doing good as an executive with the Sixers now.

Brand dominating but the Clippers losing is unfortunately how this dude spent most of his career.

Is there any website better than basketball reference for nba fans...nope...I'm on it constantly looking up random teams trying figure out why 1 season they were good or bad and the next the opposite like the 2005 2006 and 2007 clippers teams..like why they missed the playoffs after being so close to the wcf and how the next season they didnt make it back.....injuries usually is the case....they traded for cassel which gave them leadership and the bench grew and brand became a legit 20 10 guy and then injuries happened which got kaman to grow but the team didn't...

Timberwolves 03-04 wcf and then 04-05 misses the playoffs, and they also had Cassell.

@R. Stalzer You completely lost me with the Blake Griffin comment.

@@YogurtSalad Brand was def better than Griffin at peak. Their offense is similar caliber then Brand was all-defense level while Blake was mediocre on that end.

@@Celticsfor18th I disagree with him being “definitely” better. And besides, my comment was a reply to the statement that Brand “would beat up Griffin in a game, no contest.” I find that to be completely illogical

04-05 wasn't that good, less roster quality. Bobby Simmons was 2nd best player. The next offseason they acquired Mobley, Cassell. 2006 was a healthy year for Clippers. But the next year, Shaun Livingston got brutally injured, decreasing depth. That was the biggest reason for collapse, they were expecting him to be a borderline All-Star. Clippers missed the playoffs with few games. West was always brutal. Next year, there were more injuries for Clippers. Warriors had 48 wins the same year, yet missed the playoffs, because to avoid luxury tax they traded Jason Richardson for nothing. Back to Clippers, they signed Baron Davis and hoped Brand to re-sign, didn't happen, which led to draft of Blake Griffin.
