- This is the third upload from my trip the the FEBT Fall Reunion in October 2022.
In this video we continue our southbound trip out of Robertsdale PA. This reopened track was extended by FEBT members during 2022. This trip is now over one mile. The ride ended at a dry wash that needs a small bridge rebuilt.
I have never seen a speeder built with a hit and miss engine , that is so cool !
This one is original to the East Broad Top Railroad. Thanks for watching
Darn, I wish I had been on that ride. Thank you so much for posting it. I guess this section will be available for speeders for a while, but I'd love to see regular trains get down this far. The EBT is a national treasure! I'm so happy to see it on the rise again, and will be joining FEBT.
That is unbelievable what you have achieved. Great job!
It is great that the line is getting rebuilt. Thanks for watching
I was today years old when I learned the better portion of the right of way was in this good of condition. I know the tunnels and bridges need work but it seems here some ties and ballast and it’s all good. Love the sound of that antique speeder engine too
Yes the East Broad Top is a special place. Thanks for watching.
The trees are almost peak. What a pretty ride 🚂
Hi Samantha!
Can u imagine riding behind one of the iconic Steam engines through this scenic part of the line, awesome
This was my first time in the Robertsdale area. It was great to learn more about mining history
Great video. 😺
Thanks. It was a fun ride
@@steamlogger wish I lived closer. 😺
Nice video boys like the area over there
It is a nice area. Too bad I live 8 hours away on Michigan. Thanks for watching.
will that railway ,when cleared reconnect to Rockwell Furnace yards? appox how far did you just travel. I was just there on sunday and missed that?
The track is going away from Rockhill Furnace. It is headed towards the town of Wood and the southern end of the East Broad Top track.
So they are restoring the line from orbisonia to robertsdale?
Yes, slowly. They are doing it mile by mile. It’s a lot of work. That is the new owner of the EBT’s goal. Someday steam locomotives will be hauling tourists through the two tunnels. But the goal right now is Saltillo, 7 miles from Rockhill. They have a mile done already. But that section was used before for speeder rides several years ago. Beyond that the track hasn’t been used since 1956. They also have to redo grade crossings and install signals at major crossings. And repair bridges like Pogue. What is the mileage from Rockhill to Robertsdale and beyond? That would be a long round trip compared with the 10 mile round trip north to Colgate Grove and back.
How much further does the track go beyond where you stopped? Will the steam train use this section someday? A round trip from Rockhill to beyond Robertsdale, that would be a pretty long ride compared to the 10 mile round trip to Colgate Grove.
Woodville is listed as a mile south of Robertsdale. We could see a switch stand past where we stopped but I don’t know which that is.

The EBT is a very special railroad. I wish I lived closer.
Sounds like a little belt dressing was needed. 😮
Quite possibly. It is around 100 years old
Diesel engine
I believe it is gas. A Hit and Miss engine. Here is a link to the East Broad Top motor cars.
