The only way to do pedal assist is a solid torque sensor. I haven't even installed a cadence or speed sensor; since my motor has torque sensing built in, it just started working out of the box and nothing else was necessary for it to work perfectly - which is difficult for a lot of systems because I only need it on one side (spinal cord damage). Being that it's continuously sampling the torque it adjusts to whatever the instantaneous torque is on the cranks at the time, so it makes it naturally adaptive to whatever I'm able to do with either leg at any moment in time.
I like this bike, probably as I like my fatbike. I hope the torque based bottom bracket they use isn't the same as Grins because mine was terrible and I removed it. Good tunes as always.
Andy I'm surprised to see how you have setup the bikes seat. You are not even close to getting full leg extension while riding. Another question, I notice the key in the side of the battery compartment, is that necessary or did you forget to take it out before riding.
The previous Cyrusher bikes have just been rebadged ShengMiLo but this looks much better, very similar to the Himiway Zebra. It’s a shame their prices are so much higher.
Nice review Andy, and some great trance stuff...I'm 67 and wouldn't be without my ADO E Bike. I use peddle assist all the time where I can, the exercise I get is very beneficial. I dare you to try peddling it with no assist...I'm guessing it would be very heavy going....The battery was epic in the review IMO...🤔😳😳😏😏🇬🇧
I've been dying for more content on the Cyrusher Monta, Ranger and Trax. They are some of the few affordable full suspension fat ebikes but don't seem to sell like Lectrics and Aventons.
Great countryside over their. The last time I was in the UK, was 2009. LIke I said I enjoyed your video and review. I have a Juiced bike, (RIP current S). Absoolutely love it. Going on 5 years in August with over 18000 miles. I'd love to hace a second bike. I love the distance you can get out of the larger batteries. Mine is a 52V, 19.2 Ah battery.
The bottom bracket looks like that because it fits either the bafang m620 or m600 mid drive. They do this stuff to use one frame for like 10 different bikes
Better than a mid drive? Probably not. I converted a MTB into a 750w Befang mid drive powered bike and I've got 120+nm on a 55lb bike. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving what I see with that Cyrusher Ranger. It might be my next bike.
You should try a high end ebike from someone like santa cruz, specialized,yt industries, nukeproof etc. You'll be blown away by the build quality and performance!! These are relatively cheap and built on a budget and wouldn't last long on red or black runs...or on drops or jumps. High end ebikes also have more aggressive geometry, shorter stems, wider bars, dropper posts,27.5 or 29 inch wheels, tubeless tyres and lots of ways to tune and dial in the suspension.(good ones starting at 4k and up to 12k) I ride a lapierre e-zesty 9.2 which weighs in at 20kg with the battery and motor in. If you ever get a chance ,try one. You'd really enjoy it but you'd want to keep it👍

Hi Andy, I stumbled upon this video and glad I did, a mate has a similar model Cyrusher ebike, the name caught my attention. I've been on the fence about ebikes mainly because of the price's, but I do need one to help give me back the incentive to get outside again after being diagnosed with mental health issues, PTSD and depression. I believe your honest about this bikes performances, in your opinion would it suit a 60 going on 30 year old that needs to get back out into the wilderness again. I'm a UK resident.
Hello, not knowing the full extinct of your health issues. I've been riding an electric bike since 2016. I had a minor stroke in Dec. 2019. I'm still riding bike # 2. I just turned 65. My bike is a fat tire bike as well. I love my bike. Juiced Bike Rip Current S model. Good luck to you mate.

Great review! One question though. What’s the track accompanying the 16:55 onwards segment? Shazam has given me a dozen different answers, none of which are right!
Great looking bike, I have a fiido m21 with a torque sensor, and I love it. Seems a bit down on power though which I put down to the controller. However I don't know of any upgrades for a controller with torque sensors?
@@simonbean1264 I'm wondering if it's possible to get more speed from it whilst keeping the torque sensor as its a lot of fun but I'm not sure it's possible
Tongshen mid drive motors are cheap and they have torque sensors, apparently its a more natural way of having electrical assist. I think I am going to get one of the kits and upgrade a cheap mountain bike. Have you been on a fat tire bike with front and rear motors? I think that could be a good way to have power but also not catch plods beady eye on the streets.
They are different bikes. This is kind of like a cross between the 5000S and the vapour. Vapour is an eMTB at heart, this is like a fat ebike motorbike kind of thing 🤣
It should have the motor in the midle of the bike and not on the rear rim...that kills the motor on gravel/debris/jumps and the advantage of a rear shock! But it's a good looking ebike! also use gel inside the tires...like Flat-Out or something like that...cause tires are gonna be flat more sooner then later! ask me how i know! :)
I just received mine, indeed the pedaling assistance with the torque sensor is great, but it's such a shame that the throttle grip is clamped at 28mph (32km/h) and that it is impossible to unclamp (disconnecting the wire from the controller and modifying the speed in the settings does not change anything)
Hi Andy is the cyrusher worth getting or are you better of getting the branded bikes eg trek canyon ect not sure if you have done a vid on this dilemma

Hi Mate I keep getting error 21 on my display when I’m riding. It’s usually after ragging out about for 15 minutes. Any idea how I can stop this error from happening, and how to fix it when it happens? Usually I’ll turn the bike off and leave it for a bit then it’s fine
I bought the previous version XF800 and it is crap. The "1000w" motor is really a 500w that was defective from arrival and has been replaced for the XF900. Manufacturer will not warranty defects. Buyer Beware!
tripple crown is overkill ....in my opinion ....i love this bike ..but personally i would prefer single crown ....it aint never going to ride it downhill as hard as possible to even make any proper use of double Kinda wish some these bikes would stop putting double crown forks on bike that never going to see it used right
Andy it looks a nice bike it will be prise to be onist it's not my cup of tea I'd rather keep my bike 28mph it looks as if your at the Jim on one of them pedal machine to much work out for me probably for a younger person like the colour and frame rear suspension and front good good brakes it's a well built bike
its cool but fat tyres and full suspension? the rolling resistance and weight of the fat tyres is pretty pointless. i just dont see the logic behind it.
The bike is a 750w even though it says 250w on it to make it 750w you just need to disconnect the wire that's what the people from customer service told me .
Very nice and should be good on wear and tear with the chain only transmitting the user input rather than the motor force. Looks really nice and there are some accessories to make it practical, if you can only have one bike, it's got to do everything. I would probably go for smaller tyres in the long run but have to admit that they do look cool.
Like these bikes only bit prices especially as made in China surley some middle men making more than manufacturers i do like heavy construction but are components quality cant find what is on them ,ebikes across the range way over priced but if I was in market probably look at one of these
Wouldn't bother with any of these if located in the UK. Customer service is shocking. Purchased the crusher FX 800 lasted a year. For a 2k bike it's robbery and customer support is horrendous don't expect anything from them, bike shops will not touch it either
Yeah the FX800 doesn't look like value for money, you could build better for cheaper, you'd struggle to build a ranger for the asking price I think.. things are getting better. If you bought any of these kind of bikes from a bikeshop they would be 1.5-2x more to cover their costs of support etc.
As Andy mentioned in the first minute and just dawned on me as well, this bike should be great to service. My own midmotor ebike I could not change the motor myself when it gave up but this one... If they send me a new rear wheel and instructions, no problem.
It's not just crusher, It's these type of ebikes in general.. If you have electrical problems, No 'normal' bike/ebike shop will touch them! Unless you know someone, Or specific shop, That will deal with custom style bikes (As long as the bike hasn't got any proprietary components (hard to work on or replace), Then you are left in the cold and hoping nothing does go wrong.
If you have problems with speech you can decrease playback speed in the settings tab on TH-cam videos.. Or increase if you are a fan of the chipmunks :)
Beware of Cyrusher Ranger - Total Scam! I purchased a Cyrusher Ranger bike and am utterly disappointed with the quality and customer service. After just a few kilometers, the display was already broken. It took a lot of effort and time before they finally sent me a new display. It's misleading that they claim to be based in France because the phone number provided on their website is unreachable. After receiving the new display and taking a test ride, I found that the assistance no longer supports up to 25 km/h but only up to 15 km/h. The worst part is that the brakes no longer work. I nearly had an accident that could have been fatal. Additionally, the brakes make an unbearable squeaking noise. When I contacted customer service, they told me to go to a bike shop and have oil added. This is an unacceptable solution for a brand-new bike that was just purchased. I will now pursue legal action if I can even find a contact person. It appears that the parts come from China, not France. This is a deliberate deception to create the impression of having a contact in Europe. Absolute scam! People, beware and stay away from this bike. It is completely dangerous, and the customer service is terrible. Definitely avoid the Cyrusher Ranger
Sorry to be a killjoy,a but unless you are on private land with the owner's permission it is illegal to derestrict the speed limiter to give more than 16 mph. The again sorry to be a killjoy but i just want you to be aware of the legal situation and to warn you of possible prosecution and civil litigation. You pays your money and takes your chance.

With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
Thanks for the review. But nope. You could hear how bad that rattle is. And over time, because of the big weight, it will feel awful. And 23lbs heavier than something like a Turbo Levo, which is significantly better in quality. Spend your 2.5k on a near new quality mid-drive bike.

@@andykirby Agreed, I am trying to inform those who don't know much on this subject, who don't want to be disappointed in spending 2.5k on a bike with obvious flaws.
So for full power just disconnect 1 wire ?
Basically yes
Thanks can’t wait to get mine👍
How are the erginomics as far as reach and grip feel?
