Got the Ranger, 2K miles done on mostly roads, fire roads and river paths, bit of green lanes etc. but by no means mountain bike terrain. I've set this up with the mud guards, rear rack and panniers, child seat, the optional mirrors and it does everything soooo well. The sand floating of the ranger is fantastic, I've hit sand accidentally a few times and it's never caused any irritation of the bike. Tires are not that great, they follow ruts and road paint lines like crazy but also don't inspire confidence offroad... will change these once they are used up. Range of the Range is 40+ miles with the use of higher assist levels, more than sufficient. I bought the Ranger as a car/motorbike replacement in the city and boy it does that like a champ. The motor being in the rear hub means less wear and tear on the drive train compared to a mid drive motor. The brakes are adequate but not great, certainly need and upgrade on those at some point. It would be interesting to see the Ranger converted with standard width tyres rather than the fat tyres would do...
The Cyrusher and similar bikes are certainly not for these types of trails despite the manufacturer’s marketing. They’re also definitely not for this channel’s typical audience. However, they are excellent for other uses and provide a very nice ride for most other tasks.
I’m going to have to reach out to TH-cam because I didn’t get the notification for this video lol but don’t forget the kickstand lmfaooo the fezzarri with white marzocchi bomber is f@cking sexy I love it
*Here's a request for something a bit different...* How would you guys like to do a comparison between 90s XT or XTR and this year's Deore? I recently jumped on a bike with Deore expecting the worst, and you know what? It was actually really good. I swear it's better than I sweated every day after school to get all those years ago.
You guys should do a diy emtb build... maybe a series where you convert an acoustic mtb with a cyc motor. Then, compare to an entry-level emtb in the $3500-$5000 price range.
How about a Carbonda, or Light Carbon, or similar direct to consumer build with a Bafang m510, m 600, m620, or m850 motor and battery? I am looking into this kind of build. Emtb forum has a lot of info.
The Cyrusher and other Walmart/Costco emtb's have their place, like gravel paths and paved beach paths but not real mountain bike trails. I have to say I am impressed with my Timp Peak as it has provided miles of smiles so far!
I'm old motocross rider n I love all my 4e bikes most well b fun n . Get out have fun see many things in the day 64 bad back knees hips shoulder n take baby steps .yesterday I went 30mi
I have a bionx d500 kit on my giant anthem with fox 40’s and a 2degree headset adjuster. I have push button proportional throttle and 4 batteries that I can find cheap on market place. I can do up too 100km a day. If you want a capable commuter bike this is your best way to go. Bike was 800$. Used kit was 1100$ extra batteries aprox 250$. If fancy bikes had a throttle I would switch over but that won’t happen.
That is true. And while some people may not need to pay for it, we always find it odd that some will dismiss products based on cost simply because they can’t relate to people who do.
I think the Vitus E-Mythique VR may have been a better match up. $3,699 is not to bad for a budget emtb. Definitely $1,000 well spent over the Cyrusher
Omg we have to see a comparison vid now with the cyrusher and another funny adventure bike. 😂 these vids are so entertaining. Sam pilgrim would have smashed that last rock roll in the tech rock garden challenge, but the bike might have also folded in half lol. Smart move to walk and avoid injury. 😅
I am glad you did this. As many of these bikes are marketed as "extreme" I would welcome you to accept demos from these fly by night companies more often. Another that would be great, is get honest opinions from bike mechanics and supposedly the nightmare maintenance (due to parts and support) with these cheaper bikes.
@@TheLoamWolf I've done 4500 miles on my ranger now, j the UK, all sorts of weather bar snow, mix of terrain but mostly roads and paths. Maintenance has been 3 chains, 1 cassette, 3 sets of break pads, new tyres as of last week, new tubes, 2 bottles of sealant, new headlight due to old one failing. I get this service done by a professional mechanic rather than doing it myself. Battery is still at about 90% capacity, there is a small range loss but not too bad at all. I'm using the bike in class 2 mode with speeds up to 28 mph. Would I buy it again, yes. The size of the tyres is overkill, the weight a serious issue for smaller or female riders but then this bike is aimed at experienced riders from 6 foot up and Cyrusher has bikes specifically aimed at female riders.
@@TheLoamWolf that may be true but that adds so much more weight to an already very heavy bike. I mean 78 pounds? How is an older person going to transport that thing around?
I rather see a 1000w Bafang hub motor DIY kit on a nice Fat tire mount bike go head to head with 250w full suspension, would definitely beat a 250-watt hardtail mountain bike.
Drew, you couldn't pay me to have the crysher. I thought my core 2 decoy at 4200.00 is good value. I did put a coil ultimate and the charger 3 damper and air chamber in it though. Bumped up to 180mm on fork.
I think a better cheap emtb to compare with is the Hyper 29" E-Ride MTB mid-drive FS. It's under $1300. This is what I consider a truly cheap emtb that is FS and mid-drive and would be a better comparision to the higher quality component emtb's.
Hahaha !! Guignol !! Tu ne sais pas rouler avec un Ranger !! 😂 Viens chez moi dans les Alpes petit homme; et je te montrerai se que l'on peut faire avec le Ranger.

Agreed.
Got my Fezzari Timp Peak 2 days ago. Thanks for your reviews! Love it so far!
Enjoy it and thanks for watching.

This videos is needed. So many people are mislead by bad fb marketing ads.
Agreed.

For a city bike it would be a pretty fun option! Ability to rally down some stairs if needed ha!

@endoalley680 If you look at what name brand value emtbs cost. Around 3500-4500. The Chinese frames aren't good value anymore, in my opinion...
I want to see park jump line comparison
Good vid, glad you did not die!
Me too!

Haha, yeah we can't afford to get hurt with our next big Shootout project starting this weekend. But we agree, more of these may be in our future!
Agreed, the stuff that Sam Pilgrim rides with sketch bikes/setups is awesome, but few have his talents for crashing well.

Why are most "cheap" eMTB fat bikes?
We believe it’s because the target demographic that wants them are older and they like the look, perceived safety or “stoutness” of a fat tire??

Yes!
What is that? A 40+ tooth chainring on that Ranger? Geesh.
It's a big dog!
cut the brake interrupters. That is the first thing most folks do with these bikes for trail use. Makes a big difference on tech climbs.
Yes we could see that being a big and instant advantage.
