    Thanks for the review. Just bought one of these saws. The magnesium covers over plastic ,the filtration system and bar mount sold me on this saw. I like that echo kept it old school.and no bs.

      Awesome man. Glad you're enjoying it.. my friend bought mine off me, and I went 500i. I have two 461 that are my backup saws. Simple old school carbs, 461 legendary reliability!

    Retired from construction years ago. Most contractors back then bought Echos. The reason being other then priced right, they could take a lot of abuse. When you have many different guys using a saw, chances are some don't have a clue on taking care of it. They last. I have had Jonsered, Stihl and Solo. All great saws, especially the Jonsered which I got in the 70s. Most at that time were much faster cutting then the Echo. Today I use nothing but Echo. Have used them mostly for production firewood cutting. Lots of extremely dirty and near petrified juniper. Would not hesitate on buying this saw.

    I work for a Stihl/Husq dealer in Canada, and I love this Echo. As for the old school toggle on/off, its mint. Metal over a plastic button, I've got a ton of replacement toggled if it broke, and Japanese build quality,
    The downfall here in 🇨🇦 is the dealers. My closest Echo "dealer" is a big box store. Warranty and parts would be my concern.

    See,I guess I'm weird I have heard so many guys at the utility company and in the park service talk crap about the off switch..I honestly like it . I was a husqy guy for decades until recent years with the 372xp and 395 being my favorites but I got a 590 timberwolf a few years ago for personal use and fell in love with echo I have a few different echos now and this one in the future. As for Stihl ...I don't really have anything negative to say, I just like to be different I suppose.

Has anyone run one with 30” or 36” bar? I have a few saws but I am looking for a bigger one to handle the big stuff. I would save a few dollars on the purchase of this saw if it held up.

      @@c-joneslawntree3852 Shindaiwa 501sx. same as the Echo 501-P by the look of it. I was keen on a Stihl 261-cm and also looked at a Huskie 550 XP Mk II. Both were noticeably heavier than my old Jonsered 590 (surprisingly), and significantly heavier than the 501. The 501 has all of the features of the others without the auto tune / m-tronic which I was uneasy about, and feels torquey which is what they are reputed for. Nice Japanese feel of quality although a bit more plastic than the others. Early days but very happy with my choice so far and don't expect any surprises.

    • @goldentrucker7921
      @goldentrucker7921  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol had a change of heart on them. Truth is out of the box stock they're dogs. They wake up after about 2 gallons of fuel after break in. After porting they're very good . I currently own 2. Mainly for firewood. When these first came cut I was able to get them for around $640.... then $800.. now they're up to $1000 msrp. Don't think I'd buy one for retail. I'd rather buy a 462c, and call it a day. But if you can get a 7310 with a discount, then it's probably worth it.
      That's the truth. They've been out for awhile. They're proven to be very reliable. Just underpowered compared to stihl & Husqvarna.

      You don`t need to port this saw. Knock the plastic EPA plugs out of the carb, do the muffler mod, run 94 octane fuel, tune it, it`s good to go. I have YET to see where anyone that has ported this saw that benefited that much more from the porting. The factory porting is very good. These saws already make a ton of power as it is, IF, tuned right, using GOOD high octane gas. I run VP 94 octane fuel in my saws. That alone wakes them up.
