  • Viair compressor kept blowing the fuse. After going through the wiring and the air lines I finally narrowed it down to the compressor. The compressor I did in the video was corroded but not as bad as the other one. I wish I could of showed you guys. Nonetheless if you are having a similar issue and you have gone through everything but the compressor, chances are that you might need to do the same. Their is a Viair brush rebuild kit that is sold online just in case your brushes are really worn out, etc. This worked for me. I hope this works for you. Thanks

    Hey bro, thanks for making this video. My compressor is smaller than yours. This is my 2nd compressor and is a recent purchase. I hope to find my receipt and have a replacement. Hopefully.

    Cleaned up both compressors, replaced the end cap on one of them, replaced the one way valves. Still blows fuses. Switched to self resetting fuses. They didn't start blowing fuses until maybe a year of use. I do use them on a daily driver.

Paste this into the amazon search. 30Amp Auto Reset Circuit Breaker Fuse 12V DC T1 ATC/ATO Low Profile Mini Fuse Circuit Breaker 30 Amp 12 Volt for Car RV Solar, 3 Pack. I don't remember the amp version I got but 30 makes sense to me. These fuses will sht themselves after a while. Mine is still tripping them. It's the one way valves, can't seem to find any that aren't trash.

    Yeah these companies immediately tell you to order new compressors from them without any diagnosing. This happened 6 months ago, stopped, and now is blowing fuses on just one of my two compressors. I'm using 30amp fuses. How do you diagnose a bad check valve? Thanks for the video.

    • @davidruiz4432
      @davidruiz4432  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would switch it up to the required amp fuse. Usually 40amp per compressor. With the check valve off, you should be able to blow air in through one end only. If you are able to blow air from both ends then it’s most likely bad. The valve can get stuck open for example. So when the ignition is turned on, the compressor is going to blow the fuse at start up because it now needs more amperage to push against that built pressure due to the bad check valve.

      @@davidruiz4432 Hey man, I found a huge air leak coming out the air filter intake port on one of my 444c compressors. Ya think the compressor is bad internally or would a check valve to the tank let it leak all the way to the intake?

    • @davidruiz4432
      @davidruiz4432  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alexxx3958 the reason why air is leaking out of the compressor is because the check valve is bad. Air is supposed to go in to the tank but it should not be able to come back out. I had the same issue. A new check valve will fix that issue.

      Check the valve again. Any back pressure can instantly pop the fuse. Fill up the tanks a little and loosen the valve slowly

    Does anyone know which one of those ORings keeps the pressure in the tank? My compressor is leaking and freezes before it reaches max psi.

      Hey bro, if it’s leaking from the intake then it has to be the check valves. Maybe both are bad or are going bad.

      I had a compressor constantly blowing check valves every 1-2 months and I witched to the SMC check valves (The big non compressor ones) and my issue stopped. And whats cool about them is that you can take them apart and fix them if you need to.

    I've been experiencing my vlair 444c compressor that went out today. I noticed one of my compressors went out and somewhat started to leak air out of it. By chance do you think it may be the check valves?

    • @davidruiz4432
      @davidruiz4432  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That definitely sounds like a check valve. It’s no longer working properly so there is pressure coming back out. When you turn your switch on and it tries to turn on it blows the fuse. It’s drawing to much power trying to work against the pressure that’s coming back from the faulty check valve.

  • @jakebrown549
    @jakebrown549 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I replaced my check valve and it's not leaking but I am still blowing fuse when airing up. Is the compressor bad?

    • @davidruiz4432
      @davidruiz4432  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sorry for the late response. Start by checking that the fuses are the correct amperage and also the relays. If that checks out. There’s a possibility that your compressor can be going bad.

      Make sure to check the wiring. Just to be sure that there isn’t a short somewhere. If that checks out, I would check those check valves.
