😊great job,well explain thank you...watching from California
Thanks!!! Love cali
Thank you! This helps, my Miata’s cooling fan & AD fan run on the same ground, it has been wire tucked previously & trying to get my ac compressor to engage but 20a AD fan fuse blows instantly. Guess it’s time to unwrap the harness & see how good of job was done & hopefully find an exposed wire.
Thanks for the very helpful video and hands on explanation.
Yup 👍
Outstanding and very helpful video. Thank you kind sir.
U welcome
Exallent explanation sir
Thanks for liking
excellent job showing this on a bench top example
Yup thank you
@@RBTheMechanic I am scouring YT for these type of vids to help me find a short in my daughters car - her flood lights keep popping fuses- we bought it used and the former owner did warn us about it - they simply removed the fuse and didn't use them.
@@mattsimon931 well u need volt meter and test light start checking wiring one at a time
Very great demonstration Thanks
You are welcome!
So basically the fuse only blows in the middle of the fuse to the bulb or component?
so basically a short to ground is when a wire touches another wire and causes the circuit to blow ? or is it when the amperage in one wire goes to another one causing it to be no amperage or too much on one wire? it’s a good visual just want to make sure
Both are same
Great job on training
Thank you!
God bless you RB 🙌🏻
Thank you for the blessings!!!
Great video
I have the same problem on my seat altea 2008( not xl),and when I turn the key is blown fuse ( 5amp) which is stop working; blowing motor from clima, reverse sensor and light and also mirror small LED (red & Green fron roof mirror) can you help me with an ideea ?
Kind regards.
Did u replace the bulbs prior to this happening
I have a 2011 traverse and I keep blowing fuses. I have no window power,No right turn signal and key gets stuck in ignition as well as no backup camera. I have been to other forums and replaced the 15amp bck/stop fuse under the glove box and then everything works fine (for a few hours/days).
I’ve gone through 6-8 fuses in the last 2 weeks or so and idk what the problem is. It’s not okay to just replacing fuses! Any ideas/help would really be appreciated!
I think I have a short circuit! How do I check and where/what do I check?
U need to take it to Electricison and have it checked out might be shorted out wiring. Fire hazard !!
I have a 2020 honda civic and my dashboard went off, still managed to put it into gear and drive it manually. I checked meter fuse and sure enough it was damaged,so i replaced and i drove it a min and poof it blew again i replaced it again and same deal!! Im going nuts!! Would you happen to have an idea as to why it keeps doing that? No modifications done on car stock hatchback sport
This is electrical trouble might need to take it to election could be somthing shorted or somthing draining too much power u have after marker radio?
@RB The Mechanic 1st of thanks for responding! I have it all stock the only mod I did was switch reverse tail light and hi/lo headlights from Auxbeam no rewire just took them off and on this was 5 months ago, other than that no mods straight stock, what do you recommend?
Question sir, how do you diagnose that when dealing automotive circuit. TIA sir.
Depends on which circuit it is all u need is diagram schematic and start checking with power probe works well and easy
Thanks for the visual explaination.
My '81 Passat seems to have short circuit. It's little more complicated though
Fuse 7, which is the Clock, Cigarette Lighter and Inside lights keeps blowing, this started right after I used the back windshield wipers+ washer fluid which are on fuse 11 (and 30). Both stopped working too, the fuse seems fine
So there should be no Connection between Fuse 7 and 11,
Maybe the wires hit each other and cause a short? Wouldn't both Fuses blow if something like that happened?
Maybe you can help me, I am thankful of any help
I’ll see if my systm goes to 81 to see circuit
@@RBTheMechanic If you want to I can send you the circuit, I have a whole lot of original volkswagen mechanic books
@@autodulli I don’t use books but u can post it on ur utube I can take a look
@@RBTheMechanic I was working on the car the past few hours and found the problem
The previous owner put a cable into the area of the wiper, the then got strangled by the cable and got stuck,
The cable got ripped and was touching metal
What a mess; thank you for being ready to help though
@@autodulli oh nice good job tracking the wiring! It’s usully good inspection to find this type of issue
I installed some leds to my truck bed and a switch but i’m confused because the fuse i installed blows up only when i turn the switch to off mode , if i put it when the switch is in ON mode I won’t blow… can someone explain why ,? Shouldn’t it be when the switch goes to on if there was a problem
Dose the switch have multi connector wires
It has 3 connectors one for ground , a reciever and a sender
my car FI fuse always blows up. Can you help me find what causes this? scanner says it just the oxygen sensor but its just the fuse. but it keeps blowing up
U have to trace the wiring down for shorts
what if the fuse is on the negative wire and you touch the wrench with the positive? i assume the fuse will still blow? or will the bulb blow?
lets take the light out of the equation. Say i relocate my 12v battery to my trunk and run a + cable to a junction block in the engine compartment. I attach a 200A fuse to the chassis in the trunk and the negative battery cable to the other end of the fuse. If my + cable were to have a short to the chassis would it blow that fuse on the negative battery cable? I might have to test this myself as the internet seems split on this scenario.
Ur hit still has fuses
@@mooosestang I have not see that type of set up but if the load is take out and there is fuse it will blow if it o. Positive or necgative
So if my fuse blows immediately after plugging it in it’s a chafed wire touching the body or 2 wires melted together ?
Yup shorted out
If it’s in the circuit of ac compressor it could be the magnetic clut or jammed up conpressor
Very Good Visual Video. I'm A Visual Learner and ever since I'm Hearing About Short to Ground/Short to Whatever, this is the Best Way I can Imagine it. Thanks A Milli....
Anyhow, I Have A 2006 Dodge Magnum 5.7. I Was Driving Along, Made A U-Turn the Car Cut off. And would never start. After like 5hrs later Goin though everything Found that I have A 20Amp Fuse Which Controls the Ignition Coils and Injectors that Keeps Blowing As Soon As soon as I Turn on Ignition. Not Really Sure How to Go About Finding it, Since it happens when I turn the Key... ?
Can you give Any Help please?
Thanks Again.
It might be wire that gets shorted or have moved short to ground when u made sharp turn anyways u need to get diagram and start tracking the wire for shorts
Are you in Ca ?
No im north NJ
A client complained that when he was on motion is airbag shot. Eventually, he noticed that the smoke was emanating from the engine bay. Hence, he pop-up the hood and saw that the smoke was coming from the ABS module. He called a mechanic to unplug the ABS module connector. Afterward, the connector was connected back. Henceforth, he has noticed that his steering is stiffer to steer. Additionally, he said : "the car isn't moving smoothly as before."
Yesterday, he called and said even the headlight and other lights aren't working again in the car.
The check light appears first, brake light second then finally the P/S light appears. They lights don't come out at once. It's a 2010 Toyota Corolla Le.
Please how do I fix the problem?
Mind giving info me year make mode on the car
@@RBTheMechanic how can I fix the problem?
@@davidessien5465 it’s electrical trouble shooting start checking shorts replace all the burnet smoked out components there’s not much I can pin point for u but u got to trace down shorts
So basically the fuse only blows in the middle from fuse to the bulb?
More like it’s the weakest point yup
Okay appreciate u!
What is the solution how do you find the short
U have to track the circuit down
What if the static wire burning when you connect the battery
Which wire?
It runs from the alternator to the junction box to the battery
