I love the fact that people still use the "kissing your homies was a normal thing back then" because at that time, straight people were dumb enough to believe them when gay couples used the "friends" card to avoid persecution.
Or indeed the "roomates" card. witness my grandmother's two aunts, Katherine and Dorothy: although better known as Cocky and Dodo (yes, really). Dorothy was my great-grandma's sister. Katherine was not a relative, but my grandma always called her "Aunt". This was in the 1920s, in rural Connecticut. The family just straight up acted like they were married.
People: "You can't jump to conclusions thats their gay just because they are kissing!" Also them: "What do you mean you're not dating *masculine friend*? But you were walking with him." Or "No GUY and GIRL can be that close as frineds, you guys are dating!"
Yep. I had a bunch of classmates in high school use the fact that I had all but one class with best friend one year as "proof" we were dating. Students don't pick their schedules. 🤦♂️
Every time, when I encounter stories about obviously gay people, where everybody around was too oblivious, I hear OT laughing and screaming "and they were just friends!!!" in my head XD

My teacher then said "They were such a good example of FRIENDS for their time period." I about died laughing in my head. I tried so hard to not burst out laughing. They were lovers your honor!

[Check my "Fun Fact" comment for more.]
Velma is likely bisexual in the animated series "mystery incorporated". The signs are there throughout the second season and in the last episode they show her in her bedroom with Marcie (who incidentally is voiced by Linda Cardellini who played Velma in the live action films) and when Velma runs off to do something Marcie says, "That's my girl." I say bisexual because she dated Shaggy first but that didn't work out because of Scooby.
I haven't seen the series (It's high on my to watch list) but for some reason I've been binging youtube videos about scooby doo, and I swear I think one youtuber found some info from the creators that basically said that Velma was supposed to be an in the closet lesbian, which is why her relationship with Shaggy didn't work out. Or at least one of the reasons why it didn't work out. But either way, lesbian or bi, we got gay Velma!
Velma's relationship with Shaggy read to me as 'comphet lesbian subconsciously forcing herself to date a man' than a bi woman actually in love with him. So I still think she makes more sense as a lesbian tbh.
@@Lisa_Flowers I started with calling her an outright lesbian but didn't want to argue with someone who might "well... actually...." me. For what it's worth, I agree with you but I don't think that Shaggy would be able to maintain a romantic relationship regardless of his girlfriend's sexualality.

I seriously think we need to have an entire weeks worth of classes dedicated to teaching just how gay the Spartans were. Actually, now that I think about it, was Kratos gay all along? I knew it!
Kratos, in the latest game, literally named his son after a man that passed away, who he describes winning battles with, burying himself with all honors, AND his kid says "you finnaly told a good story" because of how PASSIONATELY he talked about him
Pretty much any time my "ancient history" teacher mentioned the Spartans he emphasized their fear/hatred for women and how bonding physically with your fellow man, especially in the military, was seen as a basic necessity in order to form great bonds amongst one another. In general he mentioned how much the Greeks and Romans just absolutely despised strong women and women in general and how "masculine women" were feared as being "too powerful as they possessed both the power of a woman and the power of a man". I moarn the fact that not every teacher is like that and some even brush over how freaking M|M obsessed those people were

And thank you for the smiles that bring a spark of light into the gloom for a bit. Sometimes things are hard, but we'll get thru it. 😊💙
13:00 Based on that sweater of the girl on the right, I declare that she is totally trans. C'mon, you don't make an LGBT comic including those colors on a character and not expect people to be like "I SEE TRANS FLAG!!!"
I used to work in the same building as a woman that had a pink, blue and white sweater, but we never worked in the same department and I never had any reason to talk to her so I have no idea if she realised what it looked like, whether it was deliberate or, most importantly, where she bought it.
It's been a while, but here we go with more fun facts for OT! Haven't done these since last year 1) Some sea snakes can actually breathe through their skin. As an example, the Hydrophis cyanocintus has been known to breathe through the top of their heads. 2) The smallest reptile on earth was recently found. It was found on Madagascar and measures at 28.9 millimeters. It's believed to be the smallest. The most astounding thing about it, is that it's *ahem* boy parts cover nearly 20% of it's body length.

The actor who plays Michael (red jacket guy) in the original Broadway cast is a gay man (George Salazar, he was also in a version of a Percy Jackson musical, he played Grover). If memory serves me well, I believe the pride patch on the jacket wasn't on the original design but was later added due to fan interpretation. I might be making that up, I haven't looked into it since middle school so dont quote me on that. It also has a canonically bisexual character, though he doesn't "come out" until the last number as a bit of a throw away line. As amab closetet person with girl as my best friend I can confirm that's a thing. Fact we look quite similiar didn't stop that.
Every time, when I encounter stories about obviously gay people, where everybody around was too oblivious, I hear OT laughing and screaming "and they were just friends!!!" in my head XD

I used to work in the same building as a woman that had a pink, blue and white sweater, but we never worked in the same department and I never had any reason to talk to her so I have no idea if she realised what it looked like, whether it was deliberate or, most importantly, where she bought it.
I screamed those exact words. My sister fell off her bed.
Yep i was like "one of these things is not like the other"
(Not to be rude just saying)
The bmc meme 😭 I love that musical so much
I saw the name Hamilton at 14:46 and as a theater kid, I instantly knew 😂
Also I think me and my sister saw one of your comments before 🤔
It's been a while, but here we go with more fun facts for OT! Haven't done these since last year
1) Some sea snakes can actually breathe through their skin. As an example, the Hydrophis cyanocintus has been known to breathe through the top of their heads.
2) The smallest reptile on earth was recently found. It was found on Madagascar and measures at 28.9 millimeters. It's believed to be the smallest. The most astounding thing about it, is that it's *ahem* boy parts cover nearly 20% of it's body length.
i love this!!!! i know its for OT but they're so cool ! i luv them all
Heh, you said the thing.
These facts are very fun indeed.
ty for these fun facts :D
What kind of reptile? I feel like it's probably a lizard or snake...
@@Amy_the_Lizard or frogs :D
He didn’t say “What’s up Beardos and Weirdos, One Topic here!” He forgot to say it!
Well, it has been a year.......
I don't know why, but I just really love the memes/stories about people's parents not realizing that they're bi, or when they find out they're bi because their kids are. I just find these really funny.
I could have ended up being one of those stories except in the opposite (Plus I don't want kids so like an aunt version?)... I legit thought for the longest time that my lack of sexual attraction was just me being a late bloomer or being really picky. I'm almost thirty now and it's only in the last year or two that I'm like "Yeah, I don't think it's gonna be a thing for me..." I'm Grey Ace. I'd like to think what threw me off was I didn't have any problems fantasizing about it growing up, but I just don't feel any attraction towards anyone in that way.
@@becnichols8610 Ah, nice. Yeah, sometimes it takes a bit for people to put together the pieces. I'm actually also grey ace, pretty similarly to how you are, so that's cool.
I figured out I was bi in my sixties. When I saw a bi sticker on my daughter's phone, I asked about it and we came out to each other.
@@redstar5607 Wow. That's really cool.
10:58 “I can’t because I need a home” LMAOOOO
Yea
THE DAD JOKE AT THE BEGINNIG
"They were tombmates..." I am sorry but OT just won comedy 🤣
This is really cheering me up after a rough few days, I hop everyone who's reading this is taking care of themselves
13:53 BE MORE CHILL!!!!!! Omg they made it on OT’s channel. I love that so much!!!!
You just made me unlock a new childhood memory from Santa baby
So I had this Christmas pig that would sing the song I remember some of the lyrics Santa baby by 54 something something something Abingdon awful good girl Santa baby so hurry down the chimney tonight that’s what I remember
0:54 - Ok, I have to be honest. I took me a few moments to understand what was he talking about. 🤣 But I got the second joke instantly.
I don't get it
The messy hair bit at the end was literally so wholesome 🥺🥺
Love you OT 💙
I remember when I came out as bi, and my Grandma, who I live with, said I couldn't be because I "haven't been in a gay relationship, just a straight one" and I just... stood there in disbelief
Oof well at least she isn’t hating you for it just confused
I freakin love the infosys gay ad
"wait so you're used to contain loose-leaf paper???"
*"NO THATS A BINDER IM BISEXUAL"*
God i absolutely love you ot, youve made me take a long hard look at my sexuality and i couldnt be happier, im pan or just queer since i dont really know how to define it yet. We need more amazing and wonderful people like you in the world. You are our ned flanders. If everyone in the world was more like you, we wouldnt need heaven cuz wed already be there❤❤
3:10 Achilles doing all this vengeance for his boo while Agamemnon sits back and shouts "do a flip!"
13:35 I haven't seen anything from Be More Chill in two years, and seeing it back after so long gave me whiplash
I think it's a pretty good musical and there's a book (not a fan of the book, but I memorized every song in the musical to perform with my friends).
That character's actor and George Salazar are in a relationship, last time I checked.
This is a really long comment, but I just got really excited seeing BMC (-人-;)
Huh well I’m glad George found someone is he still is with someone
