I always enjoy Scalla's analysis. Awesome Rugby brain.
Bit of Cricket in the background, always lovely to see the lads in pearly whites playing the game.
Scalla at the start there😂😂😂😂 how how how how how hahahaha
South Africa have lived in the heads of English Rugby rent free since 2019, and I say that as an Englishman. 😂
Since the 2007 World Cup
@@kwabenamalgas562Yeah, pretty much. 😂
Speak for yourself
Ben O’Keefe now lives rent free thanks to the South African rugby team. 😂
@amalgas562 Agreed, but definitely more so 2019 with that hiding they received. Too bad it wasnt at the same stadium, only 2023 semis 🤣.
IF you think about it even more now with that claw back semi where Farrel thought he had wont the game after that drop goal, that smug smile got a lekka awakening.
I really want to sit in, chat rugby and have a beer(s) with these guys. Shimmy, JDV rent a crowd guys!! I'll be there.
Boks are the uncommon rugby breed. Blood and sweat for that golden glory:)
Felix Jones was brought into the springboks set up as a defence coach and now he's England defence coach. He's not copying the defence, he's brought his method to another job.
There's a few teething issues after one game, can't expect players to instantly adapt to a whole new defensive system after one game
thats not true though. Jones was not a defense coach for the Springboks. Defense was very much Nienaber's realm. Jones' inital role was in analyzing OPPOSITION defense. In other words he was involved in attack. Over time he became more explicitly the attack coach.
@@ryanberelowitz7464 So being brought in as a defensive consultant means you're an attack coach? That's such a weird way of putting it haha
Analyse the opposition’s defence to identify attacking opportunities.
@@greatshark9625 so much easier to call it an attack coach then haha
@@ajs17897 true, but it seems that attack wasn't just the responsibility of a single coach: while Jones apparently had the remit to analyse opposition defence (and probably identify strategies to take advantage), Mzwandile Stick reportedly had the remit to coach off-the-ball positioning so that players could implement 'click plays' that used turnover ball to turn defence into attack.
So after the Italians score their second try on 27mins there after they only managed two vistits to the England 22 for a combined total of 26 seconds. I'd say they defended using a new system pretty well after two early mistakes.
What about the last Italian try, England created an overlap again on right wing. Think these Saffer World Cup winners know more than a Dickie
Re Felix Jones being D coach. He taking JN stuff with him. And remember JN said it will take 8 games for team to buy into System. And he is Guru. Sorry s Edward’s. But he is GOAT on D Look at first game v England tour to SA. That first half. Confusion and not trusting eachother or System. Eng D will be good next 6N.l and going fwd. Felix is broadening his Resune to be head coach soon. Sharp man and beaver work ethic.
Guys remember the english defence system is a work in progress. He just started recently. Give him and england time. you can only learn on the field and in games.
Schalk Burger former Springbok Looseforward
Not everyone can play the Bok way. Equally, not everyone can play the All Black way. England need to play English rugby. Forwards and territory. This demand for Allblack rugby is ambitious.
Whatever England played in 2019 RWC that was the pinnacle…they were immense until the final
They have dropped so far off a cliff since. Now they can’t even compete with Scotland in the 6 Nations
Appointing Jones to attack was (and is) an odd choice, but I think the idea is to build from the ground up by making sure forwards and backs are on the same page.
It makes sense if you're doing a complete rebuild, which England presumably are, and if you're trying to model your team on SA, which began their own highly successful rebuild in 2018. But I still think Jones is the better of the two coaches in defence and that England need a new attack coach. Backline play was clearly their weakness in the World Cup.
He has been appo8nted as defence coach.
Love it! 🏉
England still have long roads to make in having a high turnover of more talented players infused into that setup
That’s what’s lacking and this restriction on players playing abroad will not help them
But what’s in their favour is that the competition on the international stage is not that high at the momwnt
Why does Schalk think that Jones was the bok attack coach? I'm sure he was appointed as a defense consultant for the Boks?
Nienaber was head coach and defense coach
Who's the Saffa on the right? Knows his shit. (I'm English)
His name is Schalk Burger. I’m glad you said that. He doesn’t get enough credit for his analysis
They're all South African
@@superbowljoel01 but they’re not all on the right ;)
Schalk Burger. Probably the best loose forward in springbok history and Jean De Villiers probably the best springbok inside centre in history. Both World Cup winners in 07 and Jean captained the boks for quite a few years.
Schalk Burger is former IRB world player of the year.
Maybe ... and so what if they do?
Schalk looks like JDV's oversized 9 year old son with that hat on.
Orrrr the boks were using irish tactics seeing as felix jones is irish
I'm betting that Felix Jones will become defence coach, Wigglesworth will go, and they will find another defence coach.
He is the defence coach already, Wigglesworth is the attack coach
Kevin Sinfield is leaving in the summer. He was the defence coach.
@@squid4451 Sinfield got moved to skills and kicking coach, that's his current role
@@ajs17897 I know. He said he's leaving after the Japan and NZ tour in the summer. Maybe he might go to Quins as they have lost their defence coach.
If you can beat them, copy them😂
That’s funny dude from an Englishman 😂 England are absolutely shite, I only like watching a couple players now, Marcus Smith, Ellis Genge and Freddie Stewart
What? England becoming one dimensional and boring?
Love the idea of the podcast featuring SA's best. But I don't the guys are jelling.
Two well known rugby greats and the host is not on par for me🤠.
He must allow the X players to fully express themselves 😮
They were playing together on national team
Couldn't disagree more Shimi is great.
Shimi's the secret sauce that makes this show work. There was Use It or Lose It before he was on board and it wasn't nearly this good. He's like the player that looks like he's not doing anything but the team falls apart when he's not on the field.
@@justinoswald8825like Juan Smith
I think you’re just racist bro, the guy is funny af and likeable
