I think they allowed him to explain it because if you wipe all the stuff the Timelords come with, they do really simple things. You draw? Get burned. This card battles? Shuffle everything away. This guy destroyed a monster? Get burned.
Yeah it's also nice to notice that they didn't gave him shooting quasar dragon line which Yusei didn't summon in his original time line but ended up with Cosmic Blazer dragon instead

His summoning/win sprite is very unique, when you fight him, his mugshot really shows how far away his face must be in the actual sprite, cuz those are some THICC outlines.

Goddamn. Marc Thompson did this role the justice it deserved after he got robbed from portraying Z-one in 5Ds proper. He only got to play the character for only a few episodes before the dub ended up cutting the show off before the final arc, but this performance proves that if he had been able to fully play Z-one in the final episodes, he would have owned that role. All this does is make me want a proper uncut/less-cut dub for all the past shows even more.

In the anime, Z-One 99% believed that there was no hope for the future unless he removed Synchro Monsters' existence from the history, so his deck didn't have a Synchro Monster. But Vorpgate is a Synchro Timelord, so it can only exist when he has hope for the future, hence Z-One mentions "negai"/"hope" in its summon chant.
No, Z-One did not believe you have to remove synchro monsters. He isn’t stupid. He believed you have to get rid of Momentum. Vorpgate exists because a manga writer wanted to be cute. The people who wrote Z-ONE never intended that card to exist or be in his deck.

Anyways, him having voice lines for some Yusei monsters makes sense still since he took Yusei's image to try to save the future, so most likely he also used copies of Yusei's cards to pose as him

Honestly, I feel like I can vision how Z-ONE, Yusei and the others will sound like if Konami ever dubbed season 3 of 5D's. (Even season 4 of GX.) This is my opinion, they could be voice different than what I expect. Again, if Konami ever dubbed both season 4 of GX and season 3 of 5D's.
Several reasons: 1. Low ratings led to several episodes getting skipped, and the final episodes being undubbed 2. TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Systems filed a joint lawsuit against 4Kids in March 2011 3. There was some pressure for 4Kids to abandon 5D's and move onto dubbing ZEXAL

This is one of the rare times when the English dub is not just good for being nostalgic (Which MOST Dubs are only good because of nostalgia because of the childing way they present the show) . This voice is epic.
Dark Mist and Z-one share the same Eng VA so it's not too surprising. It is amazing though isn't it! Z-one was a great final antagonist (and it's nice to have him dubbed for more than a few lines after all these years ahaha).
I think I played too much of Tag duel 6 I understand what he is saying. "Z-ONE wasn't wrong".And it still hurts when he loses that tone...an unexpected one in JP he is so tired of everything he just wants to rest, if the line with Yusei is canon he knew he will lose since the start it was just a test if Yusei can be the inheritor if his Hopes and dreams 😢

Seems legit. Honestly, for all the cutting off the final arc of that show, I'm surprised they didn't try to hide that Aporia & the rest of his companions (The exception being Z-One) died out of old age when they were humans.
To be fair, the dub already kind of acknowledged that pretty much all of humanity had perished, even in Aporia's recollection of events. Or at least, the way he described the future didn't leave much ambiguity that the world was "over", at any rate. Z-one's event, even in DL, just continued on from that. I understand what you're referring to with the "purple fog" (or glow, as they called it in that episode), but that felt like weird overcompensation from beginning to end. No arguments there.

Maybe "Poison of the Old Man" or "Soul of the Pure" and to fit him a "Time Machine" trap card too 😅

Someone else pointed out in the comments, its a reference to Tag Force 6 where its revealed somewhere in the game that Z-ONE's life support machine (the thing he is on) is powered by Cards that increase Life Points (Mooyan Curry and Dian Keto)
They're part of one of Z-one's skills; _"Empty, Infinite, and Infinite Light"._ he learns that skill at Level 20. EDIT: Evidently I was super wrong on this one. This skill only gives you Empty Machine, the other two are coming in a new mini box.

@@javierfavela2255 I specifically said GX-Arc V because I know that DM is based on the manga, do you know why? Because similar to DSOD the game was amnnounced for the manga anniversary. At first they kinda took elements from the anime to help fill spaces like Tea's ace, but the more the game advanced the less they made reference to the anime, nowadays is just manga based. The other worlds were based on their anime since they are the most recognizable versions of the stories, I doubt they will add manga only characters. At this point they could easily being adding DM anime exclusive ones and they don't do that

Why did we never get the Z-ONE story arc in 5D's dub!? Dub Z-ONE sounds menacing and badass!
Several reasons:
1. Low ratings led to several episodes getting skipped, and the final episodes being undubbed
2. TV Tokyo and Nihon Ad Systems filed a joint lawsuit against 4Kids in March 2011
3. There was some pressure for 4Kids to abandon 5D's and move onto dubbing ZEXAL

Z-one got Marc Thompson back! I’m glad he returned since he only voiced him in three episodes and I’m shocked to hear him with the Japanese voice filter this time rather than the one they used in the show but it’s probably to save time
Now someone can officially use AI Voice stuff to dub the last season of 5D’s with the official voice

Was thinking the same thing! I don’t get how the dub VA’s can voice lines for DL but can’t finish what’s left of 5D’s (ik it’s cause of the lawsuit but damn it’s been so long) I really wish, hope that the dub can be completed one day tho it’s probably futile to hope. I wouldn’t mind at all if AI is used to finish the dub, officially or unofficially, that would be cool!

For a moment I thought Z-One's EN voice would be Greg Abbey but... I was wrong. But however, Marc did a great job by giving his voice and fit very good.

Interesting what-if, it reminds me of Sean Schemmel voicing Goku and Goku Black. Yusei’s voice but deeper/darker. Imagine if AI could produce such results !
This is one of the rare times when the English dub is not just good for being nostalgic (Which MOST Dubs are only good because of nostalgia because of the childing way they present the show) . This voice is epic.

Dark Mist and Z-one share the same Eng VA so it's not too surprising. It is amazing though isn't it! Z-one was a great final antagonist (and it's nice to have him dubbed for more than a few lines after all these years ahaha).

I think I played too much of Tag duel 6 I understand what he is saying. "Z-ONE wasn't wrong".And it still hurts when he loses that tone...an unexpected one in JP he is so tired of everything he just wants to rest, if the line with Yusei is canon he knew he will lose since the start it was just a test if Yusei can be the inheritor if his Hopes and dreams 😢

Honestly, for all the cutting off the final arc of that show, I'm surprised they didn't try to hide that Aporia & the rest of his companions (The exception being Z-One) died out of old age when they were humans.
To be fair, the dub already kind of acknowledged that pretty much all of humanity had perished, even in Aporia's recollection of events. Or at least, the way he described the future didn't leave much ambiguity that the world was "over", at any rate.
Z-one's event, even in DL, just continued on from that.
I understand what you're referring to with the "purple fog" (or glow, as they called it in that episode), but that felt like weird overcompensation from beginning to end. No arguments there.

I really really love the voice lines and Marc Thompsom voice is one of the best in the game. But I am a little sad... Because maybe he could say a little more cards. I know he line some (or maybe all) anime only cards he use. But he line some heal cards. And he could say some stronger healing cards. Maybe "Poison of the Old Man" or "Soul of the Pure" and to fit him a "Time Machine" trap card too 😅

@@chaosgallade2331 Maybe it´s because involves Majestic Star Dragon, which is a Stardust form that was created to fight the Dark Signers, which were already defeated in the future Z-ONE comes from. So, unlike Shooting Star Dragon, he never accessed to Majestic Star Dragon.

Someone else pointed out in the comments, its a reference to Tag Force 6 where its revealed somewhere in the game that Z-ONE's life support machine (the thing he is on) is powered by Cards that increase Life Points (Mooyan Curry and Dian Keto)

They're part of one of Z-one's skills; _"Empty, Infinite, and Infinite Light"._ he learns that skill at Level 20.
EDIT: Evidently I was super wrong on this one. This skill only gives you Empty Machine, the other two are coming in a new mini box.

So I wouldn't be surprised if they, at some point decide to add manga exclusive characters for each of the corresponding worlds (except for DSOD World)! As for "Timelord Progenitor Vorpgate", I'm talking about an in-universe explanation of how Eve got it! Did she stole it from Zone or what?🤔🤨🧐
@@javierfavela2255 I specifically said GX-Arc V because I know that DM is based on the manga, do you know why? Because similar to DSOD the game was amnnounced for the manga anniversary.
At first they kinda took elements from the anime to help fill spaces like Tea's ace, but the more the game advanced the less they made reference to the anime, nowadays is just manga based.
The other worlds were based on their anime since they are the most recognizable versions of the stories, I doubt they will add manga only characters. At this point they could easily being adding DM anime exclusive ones and they don't do that
