    (This is not the recipe used in the video but is one that I love. Our regular line of soaps do not contain palm oil. If you you want a palm free recipe, play around with adding more butters and/or olive oil.)
    30% Lye Concentration
    6% Super Fat
    40% Olive Oil
    20% Coconut Oil
    10% Palm Oil (I look for Palm that is certified by Palm Done Right)
    10% Rice Bran Oil
    10% Castor Oil
    10% Cocoa Butter
    1tsp ppo* Sodium Lactate
    *Per Pound of Oil
    I soap at room temperature - which means the oils and the lye solution are in the 65-75 degree range.
    Missouri River Soap is not responsible for any outcome that results from testing this recipe. Follow all safety precautions when handling sodium hydroxide and making cold process soap.

    I love watching you and you have a keen talent of coordinating colors. From one person who frequently gets misunderstood to another, just ignore the BS comments. You have every right not to share your recipe. People don't realize the thousands of dollars that gets spent developing a business and the endless hours of research and development. They see an idea and want to be told everything about it without expending ANY effort of their own. That is selfish. Stay strong. You are amazing.

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Leslie! It is hard because everyone 'reads' something a bit different. Even the times I've been overly nice to counteract any misunderstanding, I still get yelled at. So I just have to be comfortable with it and know that I know that I was approaching things from only good intentions. I even provide a recipe that I love but that still isn't good enough.

    I am terribly late to the party but I wanted to gush about how pretty this soap is, how strong your arms and back must be, and every time you pick up them heavy pots I get nervous, but you’re a total pro and could probably pour out exactly 8 ounces in a mug from a barrel. 😅 That said, your hubby should make one of those roller pots for you so you can let the pivot do all the work. 😀

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't use it in every batch but I do prefer to have a lot of vegan options for my customers. Milks help to create a creamier lather. The sugars increase the bubbles and the fat increases the superfat. I do figure them into my recipe via the water portion.

    Hello Holly! I love watching you make soap!! I am a soap maker, but I only use goat milk! I notice that your soap stays very liquid for a long time!! I have tried so many different recipes that are to stay liquid longer, but my soap just sets up super fast!! Its very hard to get nice designs because it sets up so fast! Do you have any ideas for me?? I soap around 80-85 degrees.

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stephanie! Thank you! Hmm...you are soaping fairly cool already. I do try to soap under 80. Preferably around 72. My next thought would be the goat milk. Are you using a full goat milk lye solution? Those batches can move faster sometimes. Let me know!

    • @stephaniezook6427
      @stephaniezook6427 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I use full goat milk! Im assuming thats why it sets up so quickly!! I dont really want to add water because I like how luxurious the end product is. So maybe this is just something I have to deal with!! But I love watching how long you can work with your soap!! Its a dream of mine!! We have our own goats and have plenty of milk!!

      Hi Juliana! I do all the photography. I highly suggest a DSLR camera, a 50mm lens, and learning to use Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom to edit. Pictures are never that amazing straight out of the camera. They usually need a little tweaking to adjust brightness, to adjust colors to be more authentic, etc..

    How long does it take for soap to dry completely?

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We allow cold process soaps to cure for at least 4-6 weeks to allow time to evaporate the excess water.

    Hello madam, could you explain to me the type of fragrance used for making soap?💐

    • @moriversoap
      @moriversoap  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We specifically use fragrances that are approved for the skin in soap/bath/body products. The International Fragrance Association sets limitations on all of the different fragrances so once you find a skin-safe fragrance, you will need to double-check the safe usage rates.

    I just watched your fruity loops video with the comments turned off. You ranted about people copying your work but yet you copied other soapers work. You are the same person who jabbed at an admirer that wanted you to teach her. Your reason was that your recipes were proprietary. I don't appreciate the justification of your copying, especially after your demeaning comments about an admirer. You would not have success to the degree that you have if it were not for admirers. Soapers are a dime a dozen and it's this platform possibly Instagram that gives you exposure. Appreciate your followers.

      I've grown a lot as a maker and a person and have changed many of my viewpoints. However, I do feel that many people still don't understand what I was saying when I did say it. That's okay. I choose to be comfortable with my path and my growth. I choose to be okay with being misunderstood at times. There is usually so much more dialogue needed or better translated than I often seem to do. I truly am not a rude or demeaning person but sometimes I don't come across well. Again, I've adjusted how I approach such things. Anyway, I did give a shout out in the new Fruity Rings video (I think that is the one you are speaking of?) and that was all that most of us have ever wanted. But again, I've changed how I approach it. I'm sorry that you have such a bad impression of me and I hope you will forgive those instances.
      I will add that my actual recipe IS proprietary. I have shared recipes, pointed people to beginner recipes, etc.. I've done quite a lot to be helpful. My actual business recipe is legally bound to the business itself and I don't have the liberty to share it.
      I hope you have a nice day. I'll admit this comment has set my morning off wrong but I'll just readjust and move on.

      I will add that the comments are turned off on all of my older videos and not that one specifically. The older videos tend to be targets for really disgusting and horrible comments. I just don't need to manage that harassment every day.

      @@moriversoap I appreciate your response. We all grow and that is a good thing. If I had the ability to reach out to you personally I would have. I have watched your videos for quite some time. When I watched the fruity loops video I was surprised to see the comments off. This communication was not to upset you but, to point out that just as you admired someone else's work and it remained imprinted on your mind people who follow you find something endearing enough to ask you for help. Between the manner in which you spoke about helping others in a prior video and then turning off comments I became offended. Not only for myself but, for the person who mustered the courage to ask for help. Kee in mind that for people who enjoy your craft, you are a Jennifer Lopez or Garth Brooks personality to them.
      I wish you the best. Have a great day.

      Anyone running a business has every right to keep their recipes proprietary!!
