Triple digit temps and dry heat mixed with the sun beating down on you. Lots of shirtless workers doing their thing to learn the green while staying hydrated. A good 40 oz to stay alive, water that is.
I did this job along time ago when i was 18 and i lasted 4 hrs until i gave up. A bag ripped open when i was throwing it in the dumptruck an guts from a dead animal poured down my shirt. I have respect for these guys
I use to work at company here in Fayetteville NC doing exactly what he doing but I didn't have that lifter on the truck I worked on maybe a year ago the man who brung the bag with the drinks I loved them type of people that drink always come in handy makes me miss it think imma go back after watchimg this lol

I do the same job and i understand you and you have my respect, i also i do i fast i can!!! every day in my route we have about 8 tons of rubish,but we work very diffrent here,we have big bins all together 5-6 in every few meters,we don't use small bins outside of houses

Mack garbage trucks are the only Mack cabover semis I see around here in the USA nowadays. I remember back in the 1980s & down there were many Mack cabover fifth wheel semis around along with cabover fifth wheel semis from other makes like Peterbilt, Freightliner, Kenworth, etc. too. Today besides garbage trucks, fire trucks, & yard trucks, I don't see cabover semis around anymore like I use to back in those days.
Where I live it has to be in the green can because the trucks top dump with a dump arm. Anything that doesn't fit in a can you have to take to the dump & pay by weight. Since the transfer station is 15min away I just make a monthly trip & it costs me about the same as 1-2 weeks of garbage service.

Such an old fashioned way of collecting trash. In my city we only have the big 95 gallon carts and the truck has an arm that grabs it and dumps it in the top- 1 man operation and a lot less labor intensive. Also a lot more efficient and uniform instead of having piles of trash and mismatched cans everywhere. Where’s this at, anyways?
This would be Quincy Mass. I’ve seen lots of the automated collection and it’s definitely more efficient but for places like this where it’s tight streets and lots of trash rear loads are the vehicles of choice
In Uk the bin mans are super fit. They got paid by the area they cover. If they finish the job within 3hours or 8hiurs it is the same money for them. It is also very well paid job.
Knew of a child who worked with his grandpa and reached in to get something and was crushed! My brother lost a thumb, and my shoulders are both destroyed. Different times!

I respect his grind but he can work on the cans being thrown on they sides, and I'm saying that cuz if I was doing it, I'd do it all the way and stand the cans upright like I got em.
A lot of landfills recycle they process all the trash and recycle what they can I pick up a lot of loads from land fills a lot of paper, aluminum, and glass
