I had a cairn for more than 16 years. Great dogs with a lot of character but boy they can be stubborn. Bonus fact, their coats can change color through out their lives as well.
@@ashley_sprinkles Yes, mine changed color three times! As a pup she was sort of red brindle and went wheaten. Then started developing black tips on her ears and nose, which made her look really cute, and finally went grey brindle. Like having three dogs in one.
Fantastic dogs, the ultimate terrier breed as far as I am concerned. They generally have good health and can live a long, long time. Our previous Cairn lived to 17 years 3 months and I have known a couple make it to 18 years. Young ones are incredibly feisty and demanding though . . . we have an 8 month old wheaten male now and he never slows down. Once bitten, forever smitten (in a figurative sense)!
Y'all forgot that Cairns want BALL more than life as well. So many hours of my earlier life throwing the friggin ball for hours. I thought it was something ours liked but as i met other Cairns over the years I realized all of them are completely insane when it comes to balls lol
My Cairn is 15 and a half.....never been a barker, not that stubborn, very smart, trained.....energetic yes, adorable yes 🙂very few health issues, even at her age....so I can't agree with most of the 'cons' in this video
Forget about the cairn terrier cons. You get a cairn, your in for one hell of a fun ride.
True
@@animalplatoon SO TRUE.
I love my Cairn. Yes he’s stubborn but I love him. A very devoted dog.

Yes, my dog changes color. Sometimes he’s so white he looks like a Westie.

Yes
Dude, this is the truth
But they do not fetch and return. They play catch me if you can. 😂They are terriers not retrievers.
