Yes it is, I paired it with the Skunk 2 weighted shift knob and made it feel really solid. I also upgraded the Detent Springs. I don’t remember if you did that, but that makes a huge difference as well.
carbon fiber hood would look sooo good on the red! but a simple look on the honda is also a amazing look, its hard to decide but if i had the money i would go carbon fiber
I currently have a skunk2 dual bend short shifter in my 94 sedan with the same hybrid racing shift knob and a cheap ebay extension. I've been looking for a reason to upgrade to the hybrid racing short shifter and this has convinced me 100%! Finally a great review on two competing shifters! Awesome work
I really like my hybrid racing shifter over the k tuned. However, I’m k swapped and those shifter types really make a difference. I like having my shifter closer to the steering wheel. Great comparison video.
For the shifter spring pin, I can’t recommend enough getting an air hammer anvil made specifically for the Honda shifter pin. Several companies have them. Makes both removal and install take literally 2 seconds with a small, cheap air hammer.
Loved they video. I stand behind hybrid racing because they are a major supporter of Erik kutil. Their products also look very well designed. This video and you build also make me really want to get back into an EJ8 again.
Happy to see the civic back! I installed a K tuned short shifter after watching your videos, though I used the version 1. I have this really annoying rattle, however :( still shifts great, love the notchy feel and short throw, and the height adjustment.
I’m looking at the hybrid full shifter console with cables to finally remove the traditional Honda/Acura shifter rods. Hybrid Racing you can’t go wrong. Got 90% of my Kswap parts from them.
Great video hopefully you get some more time to post more often I love your video's.. Have you ever thought about racing the ek like autocross/gridlife I think you would enjoy it.
The only thing I have still a doubt about is that you removed that piece of metal from the other installment , is it still the same case for this one ?
Those shifter bushings look like the Hardrace shifter bushings. Cause they dont look like they're polyurethane like the Energy Suspension ones. BTW Anthony, you mounted the Hybrid Racing shifter in reverse on the linkage. The 2 hole side should be toward the front, and the 1 hole side should be toward the stabilizer bushing
I have been waiting days until someone pointed the orientation of the shifter lol. Long story short, it’ll work both ways. Put it on like you saw in the video, drove it around the block with no issues. Then because I’m crazy and rewatched my footage, I pulled the shifter back out of the car and put it the “right” way. No difference at all in feel or use. So yeah, good eye lol
For anyone who is struggling with the B*tch pin id highly recommend a tyrannosaur tightener by Cameron Grady, allows for easy removal of that linkage as well as tightening up your shifting and remove that B pin slop. not sponsored just a a very please customer.
ive always wanted this shifter and from the research ive done i have heard others say they do vibrate in the higher rpm would be nice to know if it goes away over time though
@ALLDAYANTHONY awesome keen to see how it goes, I still have my eye on getting one haha Also if you havnt already try the detent springs for the gearbox will make the shifting even tighter
For your garage you could get a mini split and insulate the door. For the vibration you could try welding back on that counter weight slightly lower than stock to see if it helps
Spent a lot of money installing this exact same setup to have the shifter hitting the plate in first gear. Contacting them and their slow response is horrible. Definitely not a cheap upgrade that ended up with issues.
Paint the hood. You should look into a tyranosaur tightener for your shift linkage. That spring pin is terrible. Love the shifter. I want one for my car.
Hybrid racing ftw ... the vibration could be because you cut off the weight on shift linkage & it goes away after like a month when the shifter breaks in at first they are stiffer I never got vibration from my hybrid shifter I got the same one
2 reasons…. 1. The shifter boot is not made for an adjustable shifter and just gets in the way. 2. It’s his car and he can do whatever he wants to. Plus it looks dope. You can put a shifter boot in your build though…..
Carbon hood would go HARD with this car. The black wheels and the carbon hood is always a sick combo. & if you’re gonna do THATTTT, I would suggest the carbon mirrors 😁
Hey Anthony! I'm loving the content! I also have your (now retired haha) K-Tuned shifter in my Civic, and I'm building my 99 Civic Coupe on my channel! Would love it if even just one person checked it out, much love!!
“The knob itself, that actually feels pretty incredible” yeah? 🤨
Haha
“Grab life by the shaft”🧐
Seems kinda sus
@@ALLDAYANTHONY hey Anthony, how can I source a set of those konig wheels...u have a site or number to contact them to order a set for my civic?.
He likes knobs 😂
I have the K Tuned Shifter you gave away years back when you did the video for that. Your video also helped a lot when I installed mine.
Oh wow that’s awesome! Still a fantastic shifter
Yes it is, I paired it with the Skunk 2 weighted shift knob and made it feel really solid. I also upgraded the Detent Springs. I don’t remember if you did that, but that makes a huge difference as well.
That looks so satisfying to use, and it's a great look for the interior! Great job with the install
Thanks fam! Feels awesome!
I put in the Hybrid Transmission Detent springs paired with the Hybrid Short Shifter and it helped get rid of the vibrations.
Noted! May have to upgrade those as well
My absolute favorite Civic build of all time! I own a Milano Red "99 EX coupe myself and can only DREAM of having it to the level yours is at.
Thanks man. It’s not fast, just tastefully done. I’m glad you like it!
Ooooo awesome! I've been debating this one for my Track EG. Thanks for the video on it!!!
I think it would be ideal for a track build
carbon fiber hood would look sooo good on the red! but a simple look on the honda is also a amazing look, its hard to decide but if i had the money i would go carbon fiber
Just installed mine today and definitely worth the money.
It’s awesome!
would love to see this type of vlog production on an accord. your stuff is really good.
"Ball guy, not shaft guy"
"Knob it self they actually feels pretty incredible"
"Grab life by the shaft"
I feel confident in all those quotes

Glad it was helpful! You’ll love the shifter!
I really like my hybrid racing shifter over the k tuned. However, I’m k swapped and those shifter types really make a difference. I like having my shifter closer to the steering wheel. Great comparison video.
I’m excited for the shifter setup on the RSX. I think it’ll be much more intricate!
Just put this exact same knob and shifter in my car last weekend. Can't wait to take it out in the spring
I think you’ll love it!
"Not going to lie," was made in Idaho. Not going to lie all day Anthony, great work dude!
Thanks fam!
Let's gooo!!! Carbon fiber would look amazing for hood 👍love the Honda content bro
Watching your video. Bought myself a civic ex green. Keep them civic video coming.
Hell yeah man! Enjoy it!
For the shifter spring pin, I can’t recommend enough getting an air hammer anvil made specifically for the Honda shifter pin. Several companies have them. Makes both removal and install take literally 2 seconds with a small, cheap air hammer.
Night and day difference with this shifter! Hands down better than the k-tuned had that one first then went to hybrid never regretted changing over
Loved they video. I stand behind hybrid racing because they are a major supporter of Erik kutil. Their products also look very well designed. This video and you build also make me really want to get back into an EJ8 again.
I hope you do! Especially before their all extinct haha
When it comes down to the hood, I'd definitely keep it the way it is,
It being the same color as the rest gives it that clean look.
Happy to see the civic back! I installed a K tuned short shifter after watching your videos, though I used the version 1. I have this really annoying rattle, however :( still shifts great, love the notchy feel and short throw, and the height adjustment.
It’s a great shifter! Keep rocking it!
Lets gooo a new civic vid, Hell Yeah!
Thanks for watching man
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Nah bro thank you for posting, love ur vids bro keep it up with these bangers dude!
one of the best short shifters for a b series i have the sameone!
Nice to see the Civic again ❤️
It’s been feeling left out!
I really like Hybrid Racings products. I have their no-cut shifter for my K-swapped car and I love it
HR has a fantastic lineup!
great video overall. a lot of attention to detail. love it
Thanks man. Sometimes it’s too much detail but oh well lol
Yoooo thats cool bro love your mim🔥🔥🔥
ya know Anthony really like your vids bro you put in alot of hard work so keep doing what your doing
Thanks man I appreciate that. I do take pride in videos I make so I’m glad you enjoy them!
Love the video!
Thank you! Long but hopefully entertaining
WOW Anthony very good job and very nice looké Thank my friend. Happy new year.
Thanks maurice! Glad you came to watch!
I Love the Civic blogs are back, but I’m missing the EVO 😢
I know, I’ll eventually have an evo update for everyone
Just got one for my 97 accord should be nice
I’m looking at the hybrid full shifter console with cables to finally remove the traditional Honda/Acura shifter rods. Hybrid Racing you can’t go wrong. Got 90% of my Kswap parts from them.
*_Have you made a video of installing a rear sway bar on this civic yet? 🔥_*
I freaking miss my civic!!!!!
I miss that you miss your civic
I think I finally have my answer to where my Honda Civic is leaking transmission fluid from now lol
Lol! It’s a sneaky leak!
Great video hopefully you get some more time to post more often I love your video's.. Have you ever thought about racing the ek like autocross/gridlife I think you would enjoy it.
I’m hoping I can find more time as well! I’ve thought about Autocross but that’s all we have around here in Idaho haha
Did you ever solve the seal issue for this shifter? Wondering bc I have one and have yet to install it yet.
great video
Thanks for watching man
The only thing I have still a doubt about is that you removed that piece of metal from the other installment , is it still the same case for this one ?

I’ll have to check into that. The pin is the worst!
Carbon fiber hood, trunk and Spoon mirrors!
How’s the vibrations now? Are they gone? I’m loving that hybrid racing one looks dope I’m running a dual bend GSR with gsr knob I love it
Yes, vibrations have resolved!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY do you also know if on truhart struts with coil overs would I need to leave the bump stop or remove it
26:10" I'm more of a ball guy, not a shaft guy" 😳
Was thinking the same thing
I stand by that statement
I ordered one on friday
I think you’ll love it!
Now I don't know if I want the stock shifter assembly or a short shifter for my ES1 LX when I swap the transmission lol
What seats are those in your car are they stock ?
ive always wanted this shifter and from the research ive done i have heard others say they do vibrate in the higher rpm would be nice to know if it goes away over time though
I’ll keep you guys updated. It’s seeming to get better the more I drive it
@ALLDAYANTHONY awesome keen to see how it goes, I still have my eye on getting one haha
Also if you havnt already try the detent springs for the gearbox will make the shifting even tighter
Do they make a shift boot delete kit for em2 civics?
Carbonnnnn for lifeeeeeee
Get a carbon hood. It’ll go nicely with the wing trim
For your garage you could get a mini split and insulate the door.
For the vibration you could try welding back on that counter weight slightly lower than stock to see if it helps
how is your gopro? which version do you have? any issues with it overheating, video footage loss?
It’s a hero 8 black. I kind of hate it but what else can I do lol. Doesn’t overheat but battery life is horrible
Just re-do hood keep OEM looks sexy
Skunk2 intake manifold next?
I have the same shift knob and it's amazing 👏also hybrid racing solid shifter bushings are a thing🙃
I’ve tried solid bushings in the past, they’re good, just not the feel I prefer
do you know a good aftermarket shifter for a 1997 accord?
love the vids by the way
Hmmm I would see if hybrid has an option??
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Alright will do, thanks man
Do you need to drain transmission, or are you doing it just because you’re already down there?
What's the name of that shifter boot replacement?
I still have my type r oem shifter I think it’s time to upgrade?
Spent a lot of money installing this exact same setup to have the shifter hitting the plate in first gear. Contacting them and their slow response is horrible. Definitely not a cheap upgrade that ended up with issues.
The shift plate? Try adjusting the throw to prevent that
@@ALLDAYANTHONY I’ve everything you can imagine and also from the emails back and forth with Hybrid and still no luck.
Doesn’t anyone else’s hybrid racing shifter rattle like a bich at the height adjacent screws when vtec hits?
Should be 1.9 qts for trans fill. I always take the vss out and fill through there
That sounds about right!
Yes! Hybrid racing ftw
Agreed! Loving their products
@@ALLDAYANTHONY I have mine hidden under a type r shift boot, with the new hybrid comp shifter knob/rod. Love it!
I had to do the samething I didnt like ktuned circuit shifter I like way more hybrid racing shifter improvement from old hybrid shifter
If I'm not mistaken, the bushings you're using are energy suspension bushings, right?
I linked them down below!
Paint the hood. You should look into a tyranosaur tightener for your shift linkage. That spring pin is terrible. Love the shifter. I want one for my car.
I’m seeing that recommended from multiple people, I’ll check into it!
@@ALLDAYANTHONY Very worth it imo.
What do you have for your winter/salt beater car
My faithful 2001 dodge ram 1500 lol
Go carbon fiber hood it will look fire🔥🔥
what floor mats are u using?? thanks
You never showed tightening the drain plug. Did you do that?
Yes I did, got it nice and snug. Hard to get everything in there with how long the video was already lol
How is the throw? How much wiggle it got?
Im looki g at upgrading my shifter and thats something i wanna fix
nice one
Thanks for watching!
love the content Anthony! Personally, I think a carbon hood would be an amazing addition to the civic.
Thanks man! Noted!
Go for a carbon fibre hood!!!😍😍
Noted!
Okay very beautiful upgrade, where the skunk2 intake manifold isntall though 👁👄👁
I know I know, I’ll get to it eventually!
Love the content but It’s time for a clean B swap my guy 😅
You can fit a jack under there? Needs more low hahaha
Slides right under!
Do you still do Detailing on the side?
From time to time. Depends on the job
W Sunday night
Thanks for watching dude
Man do I miss driving manual 😕
Nothing like it!
vibration came from pillow ball in the shifter
If your willing to spend the money, get a J's racing or shift sports carbon hood
Those are indeed pricey lol
Oh dang that must have sucked missing the drain pan…..
It did suck. Lol.
Carbon hood! Carbon trunk! Carbon front lip! Carbon side mirrors
That’s a lotta carbon!
Yes to all that!!! ❤️
Hybrid racing ftw ... the vibration could be because you cut off the weight on shift linkage & it goes away after like a month when the shifter breaks in at first they are stiffer I never got vibration from my hybrid shifter I got the same one
I’ll give it some time to break in and see what happens!
What seats are those!!!
They are corbeau RRX
@@ALLDAYANTHONY would you get uel headers for the civic?
Repair the hood it's a cleaner look it fits your car style
I agree! We’ll see
dont understand why you didnt put the shifter boot back on instead of that plate? it just looks unfinished to me
The shift plate is a style in its own. I love the look!
2 reasons…. 1. The shifter boot is not made for an adjustable shifter and just gets in the way. 2. It’s his car and he can do whatever he wants to. Plus it looks dope. You can put a shifter boot in your build though…..
👍👍
Carbon Kevlar hood
Ooooo
Carbon hood would go HARD with this car. The black wheels and the carbon hood is always a sick combo. & if you’re gonna do THATTTT, I would suggest the carbon mirrors 😁
I do think that would go hard!
*_I vote for carbon fiber!_*
A thicker shaft is always better. 🤭
Hahaha

Carbon fiber. Let out that inner ricer goodness. It'll look sick with the accent you have on the back.
Haha my inner ricer always wants to come out
Don’t do a carbon hood. Your civic looks clean and original which is your niche 👌
I do agree with you there!
Carbon hood is definitely the way to go!

Hmmm 🤔
