I have two of them. But I also installed 2 6 inch strikeplates that are installed with 9 screws. Its a good lock and ive had mine for years. All the people talking have never even used one or seen how it works. It is a strong lock.
I bought one, but I never installed it. It just felt too flimsy in my hands. I think placing a 2x4 across the door held by brackets is the way to go. It would make me sleep better at night.
I was going to buy this, but I've watched several videos where doors are easily kicked in that have these locks on them. Problem is the cheap aluminum that they're made of and they easily bend allowing the door to be kicked in. Why don't these companies make them out of steel??? If they did, I'd be a customer!
Use quality 4" construction screws. With this, proper security hinges, and proper deadbolt reinforcement there should be no easy way to kick a quality exterior door in.
I bought one to give it a try on our front door. Love it. Ordered two more. If you can kick in the lower part of your door, you either need to buy a better door or secure the one you have better. And nothing is perfect, but this thing will slow down an intruder long enough to grab the Mossberg 88. When they hear the sound of a shell being loaded, they'll flee. And lastly, sorry, but you made an ugly mess of that install.
U didnt test from the OUTSIDE! Under full weight - MOST BEND!!! Why? cause they're cheaper "aircraft aluminum" . not STEEL!! If they were STEEL - You'd have a WINNER!! (just cause it fits snug... WTF?! WTH does THAT mean? ...NOTHING!)

Have you tried a flying kick or even a sledge hammer?

A thick log is a lot more durable than aluminium

Very fair. I wonder if any companies out there make any out of higher quality materials. I may make this into a video

Way to much chatter. Goodbye.

Get the Door Bull instead. Pulling on the door is nothing like a kick.
Waste of your time and mine.
I have a penchant for vacuuming, Monica Geller learned that vacuum the vacuum tip from me. 😅
Why u laughing?

ridiculous, show me a video of bent aluminum, not even possible.
Aluminum today is just as strong as steel… its used in many safety components in vehicles
