I found matcha powder mixed with sweetened condensed milk works really good. Just get the ratios of that mix and milk right, it tastes just like it. Ive found what works really good is if you freeze the mix in a container or bag you can easily get it out of, put it in a blender with milk, it tastes exactly like it. 3 ingredients, super easy.
I work at starbucks. I can't imagine that the recipe is a secret bc if you ask what's in it at the counter we have to tell you. When we make green tea frapps we use whole milk, matcha powder, classic syrup, ice, and a creme base. I'd say this is a pretty close home version. The only thing you couldn't purchase yourself would be the creme base...but is basically just a version of high fructose syrup to thicken up the blend and add sugar.
I just made two of these because the first was so incredible!!!! I did try to make a little more healthy by using Splenda instead of Sugar, Skim Milk, and I skipped the whipped cream. I read that if you substitute coconut milk - you can reduce the calories to under 200. Thanks so much!!!
If you don't have vanilla syrup, you can use a couple spoonfuls of vanilla ice cream. It makes it have more flavor, and adds a nice creamyness to it. Also, if your fridge has a "crush" option, you should use that. Your blender will have an easier time, and your frappachino will be more smooth.
I just made it and added chocolate chips as a replacement to java chips before blending it. It tastes amazing!!! Next time I’ll add a little less vanilla syrup and a little more sugar and matcha cause I feel like the syrup’s flavour is slightly overpowering the taste of the matcha. Still pretty delicious though. Thank you!
I made this recipe with the green tea latte mix from muji (I live in Canada and I don't think we have muji here but there are muji stores in the US) and instead of vanilla syrup I used a teaspoon of vanilla extract and it was very good! I've also seen people use matcha powder from trader joes or teavana!
I blended ice cubes, milk (any type), matcha green tea powder, maple syrup (100 % pure) and put whipped cream on the top, and it tasted the same way, for real.
my husband is getting addicted to the green tea frapp. I like to try to make this for him. Anyone know if I can buy this (Green matcha powder} stuff at New seasons? BTW pinkmacprincess, the ice caramel macchiato video is great. I got all the ingredients for it, (one of my favorite coffees) and making it today. Thanks.
I imagine you could use a simple sugar syrup, which is just water and sugar boiled together. It's often used in drinks like chilled coffee, hot coffee, tea and similar things because granulated sugars may not dissolve completely if you just stir it in your tea. Adding liquid to liquid helps it dissolve. For a sugar syrup that's meant to sweeten drinks I'd say 2 parts water to 1 parts sugar should be good.
Made this for me and my man and I have to say that it was super delicious but it for sure needs more ice than listed, the consistency was more like an iced latter, but either way stayed very true to the real thing.
Just heat a little water (about an inch or two in a tea cup), and add tea bag. Keep moving it up and down to get the flavor out. After its pretty dark, squeeze the tea bag out, dip it back in and squeeze out again. Keep doing that. You might need more than one bag. Make sure it's all the way cooled off before you put it on your ice. It tastes way better with the powder, however.
Ok Ms. Pinkmacprincess, I just saw your video on How to get started on TH-cam. You are so funny, I just love how down to earth you were. I really took a look at your channel, I was like OMG she just does'nt do makeup videos, she does everything and she knows how to make Starbucks drinks and Cake pops. I have subscribed to you. Keep up the great work (Smiles)
Yes I have... I get it at Starbucks ._. You just blend it well. They use frappuccino chips though, which are smaller and easier to break apart. I have a friend that works there :)
You want to use the highest power that blends ice the best. The blender doesnt have to be anything fancy as long as it can blend ice without any left over chunks :D
Hi!! I love your video !!! I saw almost all of them :) But I am asking myself if we can make a tea frappucino without matcha I mean with a tea bag ? Thanks for your recipes !!
Thanks for sharing. I've got the ingredients, so why pay Starbucks six bucks? Also, it's weird that there are so many people in the comments complaining that this frappuccino isn't healthy... It's a frappuccino; where did 'healthy' become a requirement?
Had the chance to accidentally make Pina Colada Mocha Frappuccino myself in a Vitamix 6300 I just got in the mail. 1 cup Starbucks Coconut Mocha drink 1/8 cup pineapple juice (Dole brand preferred) 1 Chobani Pineapple Greek Yogurt container 2 Tbsp. Hershey's Syrup 2 cups ice cubes Manual method: Start machine on Variable 1, increase to Variable 10, and flip to High (if using a Vitamix 5200), and blend for about 45 -50 seconds Auto method: Smoothies setting should get the job done.
There are lots of drinks that aren't on the menus in any starbucks. You can make different versions of lots of drinks. Ask your barista about different kinds of drinks if your curious...any good barista can pretty much make you anything you want.
Hi, was wondering about the blender. read on amazon that it breaks after a couple months or even a week after using it, as well as it having a european style plug. just wondering if this is true lol LOVE your videos as much as i love matcha powder, which is a lot! lol
ok guys she used whatever she wanted to use ok there is no debate. The whole organic thing was not the point of the video. If you wanna make it make it if you don't don't
I made one glass today by using the bullet. I started from adding a teaspoon of green tea powder and some white sugar to a glass of warm water and stair. Then, add ice, maple syrup, honey, and whipping cream (liquid) to the green tea drink and blend.. That's it !!! I i guarantee the tastes of this recipe is much better than starbucks.
In Asia they have these at the Starbucks! :-) Just like every country has their own spin on items at popular food chain places, we have this! It is very yummy. :-D
mm i used rice milk (trying to be vegan *even though i used regular sugar and that's not vegan*) but the ice and the liquid separated. i don't think rice milk is dense enough to hold onto the ice. it has to cream. it's literally rice water is what they should call it. but i like the flavor. plus, it's vegan friendly and that's important to me. i try to be the best that i can but i'm not perfect.
Hey thanks a lot for the video, but actually I have a problem and it's that I only taste the green tea I don't even taste the syrup. What should I do? Please answer me as soon as possible because I don't want to spend all my money on Starbucks. XD
Wow, you could do this a much easier way. Just buy green tea ice cream, 1 cup of milk then put as much green tea ice cream as you want, pour the milk into your cup, mix the green tea ice cream into the milk and tada!! Easy and simple.
are you sure it tastes okay with just one teaspoon of matcha green tea powder? Whenever I experimented w/ making a green tea smoothie, I always end up adding more powder, like up to 1/4 cup, or up to 3-4 tablespoons sometime, cuz the flavor always seems to be lacking. I think its probably cuz I never knew how much sugar to add and ended up adding too little sugar, and too much matcha powder. So better to have more sugar, less green tea??

OMG THIS DRINK TASTES AMAZING!!! It tastes exactly like a cold version of a green tea starbucks drink
sage and sky thanks for sharing and watching!

So like, does it have to be my favorite cup or can I use any cup?
Sean Migalla everything just tastes better in your favorite cup.
@pinkmacprincess, Dean Migalla but you can still use any cup.
Or spell ICUP I’m sorry I’m so stupid lol
I just made two of these because the first was so incredible!!!! I did try to make a little more healthy by using Splenda instead of Sugar, Skim Milk, and I skipped the whipped cream. I read that if you substitute coconut milk - you can reduce the calories to under 200. Thanks so much!!!

I drink this in Thailand, but they use sweet condensed milk in place of the regular milk and vanilla.
Love this stuff!

I bought a Matcha green tea latte mix from Trader Joe's!
Really good!
Me too!
How much is that?
Is it matcha powder? Or a complete mix? I just looked for it at TJ and couldn't find anything :-(
Places have premade one with milks and sugars already added. I don't buy those because I like controlling the sugar.
Yes, you could order one on Amazon if you can't find it any place.
Add a tablespoon or less of condensed milk to this and it will taste just as sweet as Starbucks. Voila! Great recipe. Thanks for sharing.
I blended ice cubes, milk (any type), matcha green tea powder, maple syrup (100 % pure) and put whipped cream on the top, and it tasted the same way, for real.

Your videos are straight to the point, I like them

I made this but using vanilla extract instead of the syrup and almond milk instead of cow's milk. It was delicious! thanks!
how much of the vanilla extract did you use?

I love your videos. You edited very well. They are not boring and you now when to quit the noise.
just add a little bit of honey (2-4ml) and use less sugar so it will be more delicious

When I order this drink at the shop, I always get it without syrup or whipped cream. It's plenty sweet.
I love watching your starbucks videos, please make more!
just a heads up, using milk in tea destroys the antioxidants. if you use soy or something else it is healthier. regular milk tastes better though :)
Tried this recipe today. Came out a bit too milky-tasting but it was still pretty good. :)
It's late at night but I really really want to make this XD Thanks so much! I'll try it first thing in the morning when theres sunlight ^w^
I've been waiting for this video for so long! Thanks for posting =D

Hi, was wondering about the blender. read on amazon that it breaks after a couple months or even a week after using it, as well as it having a european style plug. just wondering if this is true lol
LOVE your videos as much as i love matcha powder, which is a lot! lol
You need frap base or it'll never come out the same consistently
Or xanthem gum
ok guys she used whatever she wanted to use ok there is no debate. The whole organic thing was not the point of the video. If you wanna make it make it if you don't don't

Instead of matcha powder can I just blend green tea leaves?
No it won't be the same... Different taste and consistency
long awaited.
As long as it's organic, I can add a shit ton of sugar because the healthy organic tea balances out the sugar.
People, don't put 1 cup of milk. That's too much milk. Mine just became like juice.
Have you seen how Starbucks makes it ?
MMMMM wish I could make it I love green tea fraps
In Asia they have these at the Starbucks! :-) Just like every country has their own spin on items at popular food chain places, we have this! It is very yummy. :-D
Thanks ! Very educational vid
is green tea powder okay to use? or does it need to be matcha?
mm i used rice milk (trying to be vegan *even though i used regular sugar and that's not vegan*) but the ice and the liquid separated. i don't think rice milk is dense enough to hold onto the ice. it has to cream. it's literally rice water is what they should call it. but i like the flavor. plus, it's vegan friendly and that's important to me. i try to be the best that i can but i'm not perfect.
I'm sorry, but how is sugar not vegan? It comes from a plant.
I WAS WAITING FOR THISS
It's funny how the video is so harmless, yet people start fighting about organic vs. non-organic.. just follow the recipe and try it! :)
procedure to prepare green tea is best explained
Omg I had this overseas in Thailand, amazing ~
Hey thanks a lot for the video, but actually I have a problem and it's that I only taste the green tea I don't even taste the syrup. What should I do? Please answer me as soon as possible because I don't want to spend all my money on Starbucks. XD
OMG THANK YOU I LOVE THESE
Am drinking it right now!
I'm using Yamamotoyama individual packets. How many would you recommend using?
Do they add sugar at Starbucks? Or is it a luquid sweeteners ?
Wow, you could do this a much easier way. Just buy green tea ice cream, 1 cup of milk then put as much green tea ice cream as you want, pour the milk into your cup, mix the green tea ice cream into the milk and tada!! Easy and simple.
I love frap matcha milk
Where did you get your single serve blender? Do you remember how much it costs?
omg i spend soo much money on these drinks, i am soo glad i accidentally saw this video.. going to make my own tomorrow ^_^

Phenomenally awesome.
