- Johan is working on a Swedish (Strands) drill press that has suffered a catastrophic failure.
There is a gear made out of fabric enforced phenol. This gear was made out of this material as it is quiet and it yields when something bad happens. This gear is sacrificial and those used to be abundant but since this drill press is quite old, those gears are no more available.
So it was decided to make a new out of aluminium.
