The Empire’s intelligence branches are like the East German Stasi, where they were all spying on each other. We see a this self sabotage at the micro level in Andor when Blevin is at odds with Dedra Meero. As for the macro level, the different branches of Imperial intelligence were all rivals and spied on each other as well as enemies of the Empire throughout the entire Imperial and Rebellion eras (I think this is mentioned in comics or novels, it’s on Wookieepedia). And this internal spying and focus on office politics allowed so much of the early rebellion to not be investigated thoroughly, as we see in Andor Season 1
Krennic headed the Advanced Weapons Research branch. He was the Director for that particular Imperial organization. The Deputy Director, or the direct assistant to Krennic anyway, was a guy named Ronan.
