So thankful that I grew up with classic rock.

This iconic song was released in 1969. Bananarama did a cover of this in the 80's which was also a hit.

Shocking Blue playing Venus is classic. 3 of 4 band members have sadly passed away. As of March 23, 2024, Robbie van Leeuwen is the only surviving member of the Dutch band Shocking Blue. Van Leeuwen is the lead guitarist and songwriter for the band, and is known for writing the song "Venus". Per Google.

Here's another legendary artist to give a listen, if interested "Bill Withers - Lean On Me (Live in Chicago, 1972)" great reaction thanks for sharing 👍🏼

Beginnings of the Euro/British invasion. Shades of the Beatles but faster and more instrumental. Actually liked them better. Was 12 then and loved this in Jr. High. You would like the group The Hollies from that era. Happy to enjoy it with you!

The Bananarama version of this song is ok, but I like this better because it is the first one I heard. There was something special and different about this sound in 1969. Great reaction. If you like good guitar playing allow me to suggest Joe Satriani/ Satch Boogie from Satchurated Live in Montreal.

This group is from The Netherlands, yet they sound American to me.

This hears a bit like Creedence Clearwater Revival. (Proud Mary)

In case you didn't know, she doesn't/didn't speak a lick of English and sang phonetically. The fact that someone can sing in another language and not even know/speak it was a surprise to me the first time when I discovered that a Japanese singer performed on the Complete Les Miserables 3-D set in the role of Eponine.

Mariska Veres, another singer who died too young. She was something else.
