Another killer performance from this awesome band. More videos on the way so please keep the feedback and suggestions coming! What band/song should I check out next? Part 1 Here: th-cam.com/video/rK1ALy6Nx0Y/w-d-xo.html
Nightwish never do a "Contractually Obliged To Be Here" performance. They leave it all on stage, because they are 100% present. Even the Decades live album from Buenos Aires (where Floor had recovered from a heavy cold and wasn't at 100% vocal strength) she absolutely gave her all, as did the guys. You couldn't tell she had been sick.
Would love if you react to "Blind Guardian" - "Mirror Mirror" live: th-cam.com/video/SVg8eP7KPNQ/w-d-xo.html - or - "The Bard´s Song" & "Valhalla" live at Wacken 2016: th-cam.com/video/i-IcX_bccFc/w-d-xo.html
There are loads of good songs to suggest, but I’d like to suggest a song that has especially awesome guitar playing, due to you being a guitar player yourself :) The song from their new album, and is called “Pan” - but Empuu _(the guitarist)_ refers to it as “Pancake”, because it takes everything he’s got in him to play it, leaving him flat as a pancake afterwards, lol. Since it from their new album and the pandemic happened, there is no live video of it yet - but they released a lyric video, that is really great. Anyway, I’d love to see your reaction to the song - it would be super cool to maybe get some technical insights from someone who plays the guitar themselves :)
Kai, the drummer in this video is a close friend of Jukka, who was their main drummer, and who in my opinion is, because he was literally ferocious. Loved Jukka's intensity. He almost stalked his drums.
Glad to see your getting into nightwish. Love the full screen setup...I have a question...where can I go to hear more of her singing? I love her voice!
Emppu is the friggin' man. Great reaction, and nice production quality in your video and sound. Check out Ghost River and their Pink Floyd cover of High Hope's if you want to see Marco and Emppu shine. Thanks.
Awesome commentary! Looking forward to following along your Nightwish journey. You already mentioned having Phantom of the Opera in the pipeline (with the REAL Phantom from the Dutch version of the musical as her counterpart) but really anything from that show (Beste Zangers 2019) is worth listening to and especially Floors performances; she gets to tackle a wide variety of genres and nails every one of them. Cheers!
about your comment of marko’s voice (the bassist) in the first part video he can sing amazing too not just in a rough voice. check out “the islander” live at tampere. or u could do a double reaction with the music video for that song but i recommend the live version first
His guitar tone is from a Kemper modeling amp. He said the factory guys spent 2 days with him programming it. FYI...His pedal rig is midi and literally is- lead 1, lead 2, rhythm and clean. That's it !
If you are going to do the PotO, I suggest you do the whole TV series Beste Zangers with Floor in sequence. It's a TV show where a couple of singer's of different genres sing each others song or song that een a lot to them. They often sing them there own way. It is not a contest, just having fun. And Al episodes where recorder in a couple of days, all with the same band. The first one is Vilja Lied. There is a version of every song by Denise Hofs who translated the short talks (Dutch to English) as well before each song, this adds a lot to the understanding of the reactions.
I second that! Although I prefer Floor with Nightwish (because the whole band is awsome and they make each other even better), the entire last years season of Beste Zangers was a real treat to Floor fans.
While I absolutely love Floor's vocal with Nightwish, she is fitting into their mold. If you really want to hear her let loose, watch live performances with her previous bands ReVamp and After Forever. As for the drums, to see what Kai can do, watch his drumcam video with his previous band Wintersun of the song Sons of Winter and Stars, plus he also has several drumcam with Nightwish.
You probably referring to Nightwish's version of "The Phantom Of The Opera", which is with their first (original) vocalist Tarja. If you want to see/hear Floor singing this song (together with the Dutch operasinger Henk Poort), you'll have to watch this duet during the Dutch tv-show "Beste Zangers" (Best Singers) episode 2019: th-cam.com/video/plCScjvDOJM/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
That was great Phantom of the opera but even greater is Shallow which she does by herself and duet same Beste Zangers the the Latin song she does on the same show in fact all of her songs on that show shows her versatility across all genres
For some awesome Kai drumming in Nightwish - check out Weak Fantasy (live at Tampere 2015) or Tribal (lyric video off their latest album, released in 2020 so no live performances). If you want some theatrical/musical type stuff, check out Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean (live from Buenos Aires 2018) or their rendition of Phantom of the Opera (with their former singer Tarja Turunen, live from End of an Era Helsinki 2005). Floor of course does her own version of Phantom with Henk Poort on the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers. Another great showcase of Floor's theatrical, operatic side can be found in Shoemaker (off of their latest album). For long, epic masterpieces, you can check out The Poet and the Pendulum (from this same Wembley 2015 show) or The Greatest Show on Earth (Tampere 2015). If you do Poet, I would recommend doing some research into the lyrics first; it's a very personal song for Tuomas and deals with a very difficult time in the band's history, when they fired Tarja. For a little Emppu guitar showcase, there's Shudder Before the Beautiful (Wembley), featuring dueling guitar/keyboard solos with Emppu and Tuomas. Gethsemane (live Buenos Aires) has a kickass power metal guitar riff. For more straightforward bangers, you can check out Dark Chest of Wonders, Storytime, and Last Ride of the Day, all live from Wacken 2013. Ever Dream is another Floor belter from this show as well. You mentioned you love a good breakdown. There is none better in the Nightwish catalogue (in my opinion) than Song of Myself, live Wacken 2013. Another good one is 7 Days to the Wolves (Wembley). They also dabble into folk metal as well, taking full advantage of their insanely talented multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley, whose signature instrument is the uilleann pipes (Irish bellow-driven bagpipes). Great examples would be My Walden (Tampere), Elan (Buenos Aires), I Want My Tears Back (Buenos Aires), Last of the Wilds (instrumental, Wacken 2013), and Harvest (lyric video off the latest album, featuring Troy himself on vocals). Lastly, the bassist Marko Hietala is quite an accomplished singer in his own right, and is the featured vocalist on several songs. A good selection of his solo vocal performances would be The Islander (Tampere), While Your Lips Are Still Red (Wembley), Master Passion Greed (no live versions, it's on their Dark Passion Play album from 2007) and High Hopes (Pink Floyd cover, from End of an Era). High Hopes also has a kickass guitar solo from Emppu.
Floorgasm as always..🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 and man please check Wintersun - Son Of Winter and Stars the drummer of nightwish Kai Hahto also play on this band,🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻 cheers man love to see your reactions.
For more of Emppu's guitar work, then the best show case I've see is the cover of Floyd's High Hopes for End of an Era. For Marco's talents - The Islander is probably the go to for his guitar work (as opposed to bass work) and voice. Another band worth looking out is Jinjer. Something of its own genre space in metal. I hesitate to recommend Pisces, but it seems to be the common entry point.
No real need to do part 2 bro... Just do it all in one video. Maybe tell people they can leave if they want...If you like, but there's nothing abnormal about 5 extra minutes of reaction. Just my 02
Hi, i enjoy your reaction from my favorite Band. Youu can also react to Storytime, Last ride of the day live at Wacken. Shutter before the beautiful, seven days for the Wolves and Alpenglow live at Wembley and Weak Fantasy, Stargazers,Sleeping sun, The Islander and the Greatest Show on Earth live at Tampere. And then we have Slaying the dreamer, Dead boys Poem, I want my tears back and The deviland the deepdark ocean live at Buenos Aires. Or you do a reation with the full conerts. And dont forget the new Album Human Nature. Nine fantastic Lyric videos.Have a nice week and stay safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd recommend more Nightwish (of course, lol - Ghost River, Seven Days to the Wolves, Phantom w/Henk... whatever!). Also, Avatar!! Not enough reactors give them a chance & they are an incredible band.
How about checking out another family band called Liliac 2 sisters and 3 brothers ages from 12 to 21 check out their original song called Mars the live version done at Cummins Ga
If you really want to hear what Kai Hahto, the drummer is capable of on the skins, check out "Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean" live from Buenos Aries 2018. See link. th-cam.com/video/t26r_vAYQ0Q/w-d-xo.html - Devil and the Deep Dark Ocean
How does she do it? Practice. She calls herself a vocal nerd. It's her hobby as well as her day job. Her physical vocal structure gives her certain potentiality, but that means nothing without the hours and hours of work and study that give her mastery of it. Btw, 2 months since you did BAND-MAID? What? How about doing the music video for "Rinne" and the official live of "Domination?" Both conveniently available on the BAND-MAID official YT channel. :-)
If you are going to do any songs from the Beste Zangers show you should look at TH-cam user jenniezelf. She has all Floor Jansen's songs with the chat before and after the song with English Subtitles, these help to put the songs into context with the person she is singing it for. Enjoy.
You should follow her my friend. She is a great person and it really brings out a bigger amount of respect and love for her once you get to know her. She’s on all the social media platforms as well as on here. th-cam.com/users/FloorJansenOfficial
Yeh, hand in pocket and get yourself a Kemper, everything you could ever imagine in a lightweight box and 600W if you need it, even the amazingly competent Rob Chapman can't tell a Kemper from a top market valve amp. Two thumbs up if I could, well done.
Hy, I think the Army will keep you entertain with more Nightwish leads, but if you have some time and mood for what other, pls check Leo Moracchioli from Frog Leap Studios here in TH-cam. He makes awesome metal covers, try Africa, Sultans of Swing or Dance Monkey. Thx and keep it rockin'
I have not yet heard her yodel or sing gospel which are way out of her wheelhouse. Itwould not surprise me though if she could learn and slay both of those styles. You should also check out Jinjer if you want to hear screams and cleans. The lead from that band, Tatiana is aso insanely talented. Unlike Floor, Tatiana is self taught. Floor Jansen - Gorgeous Glamazon! Sings like an angel, growls like a demon, and belts out everything between.
offstage she is so sweet and charming, but onstage she is a beast!
Yes!!!
And that’s why we love her!
She is an absolute sweetheart and a gentle soul off stage. On stage she is a monster ( in the best way possible)
Everything she sung on beste zangers is gold. She sings in German and Spanish plus her native Dutch and English.
If you want to hear more of Kai Hahto's drumming, listen to "Sons of Winter and Stars" by Wintersun, which is the other band Kai plays in.
'The Greatest Show On Earth' Live at Tampere, Finland is definitely the greatest show on earth. Please, it's a MUST
Their chemistry is awesome and they are actually always in a good mood. They just love what they are doin’
A good idea, Phantom of the Opera with Henk..i swear you, they blows you from your chair hihi 🤗
Kai, the drummer in this video is a close friend of Jukka, who was their main drummer, and who in my opinion is, because he was literally ferocious. Loved Jukka's intensity. He almost stalked his drums.
She's not a girl, she's a goddess! But still a great reaction! 🤘🤘😉
If we are going for accuracy, she's a woman, not a girl nor a goddess.
Having said that, Goddess is hyperbole and is apt here.
@@amazonwarlord yeah, you tell your self that! Have a nice life! 😊
@@dustbunny1977 lol
She is a amezing great deam goddess on stage. Absolutely EPIC
Phantom is going to bring tears to your eyes.
No one knows if Floor has limits let alone what the limits are.
Not sure she knows either.
She's done everything and always kills it.
Glad to see your getting into nightwish. Love the full screen setup...I have a question...where can I go to hear more of her singing? I love her voice!

Nightwish - Only three US cities in 2021 Lowell, MA 10-7-2021 Tickets on sale now!
Nice job! You described the band perfectly. Awesomeness dipped in metal and and sprinkled with Norse magic. What more can you say?
You gotta do Nightwish "Shudder Before the Beautiful" live from Wembley. It opened the show. "Yours Was An Empty Hope" was 2nd.
His guitar tone is from a Kemper modeling amp. He said the factory guys spent 2 days with him programming it. FYI...His pedal rig is midi and literally is- lead 1, lead 2, rhythm and clean. That's it !
Marko is pretty versatile as well. You have a long journey ahead of you my man.

As I said in another post, Nightwish doing Pink Floyd's 'High Hopes'. You'll really like it.
Check out Phantom by the original lead singer, Tarja, as well. You’ll love the live version from End of an Era.
For a taste of more Floor, check out Sleeping Sun. Beautiful song, very romantic. No growling.
And for my suggestion : Wish I had an angel , from Wacken , it's a banger ;)
I haven't heard her yodel yet
But im sure she will nail it
Kai the Drummer: Check him with Wintersun - "Sons Of Winter And Stars" and try headbanging to the drum beats :-)
at sonic pump studios
Great reaction :)
A totally different vibe would be- I want my tears back, with Troy the pipes player ! Check it out from the Wacken 2013 show.
