    I grew up in this country, many think it dry but it actually gets decent rain and good soil. What people don’t get is the sent’s, the scale, the wild life and you showed it, the night sky.
    Thanks

    In the mid 90's I spent a month investigating the geology on a cattle property north of Charters Towers. The property originally had Herefords on it but they were replaced with a Zebu-Brahmin cross. If course they couldn't remove them all. One day after pushing through a lot of scrub we stopped at a creek for lunch and out came an old angry Hereford bull bellowing and shaking his head. While most of us scattered a couple of us yelled back at him and he turned and ran back into the scrub. We were a mixed crew and a Spanish woman remarked that if the bull charged her she would be up a tree in a "splat" second. There weren't too many trees around substantial enough to climb so it would have been more like splat than split.

    I use a CZ 550 in 9.3x62 Mauser for my guided brown bear hunts in Alaska.
    When the 9.3x62 Mauser is using reloads it can be brought up to the same as 375 H&H magnum commercial loads .
    My large game reloads are a 9.3 -286 grain Barns TSX bullet with 70 grains of H-414

    Great stuff fellas. Ever thought of putting a drone up nice and high and try to target where the big bush bulls are? Also do the cocky's offer a bounty on them?

      Old fashioned mate, I read the tracks and burn boot leather. We pay the landholders a trophy fee for every bull taken, every stag and even boar pigs.

    Just a suggestion Mate, when you hold your rifle by the barrel, you need to apply a good amount of oil to prevent rusting from your natural hand salt.

      Usually keep them well oiled but they get more work in a week than most guns do in a lifetime

    Love this channel, it's my favorite on YT. Couple of questions regarding this clip. Why is the puppy wearing a muzzle and has Australia been able to do anything about the Cane Toad? That is one nasty frog!!!

    • @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
      @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. Had to muzzle during that trip due to the landholders using 1080 poison for wild dogs. Such a terrible death for any dog, so I don't take any risks. The cane toad is a real problem as it has spread across most of the country. The big hope is gene therapy using CRISPR however the ramifications for all other parts of our lives unless carefully considered, is huge.

    • @58landman
      @58landman 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry I hate poisoning. It requires little knowledge or understanding and it kills indiscriminately. I saw a vid on the cane toad several years ago and I was stunned at the thing and particularly at what it has done to lovely Australia. I hope you all can wipe it out safely.

    Another great video. We don't have wild bulls here in the USA. What do you do with them once you get one.

      Thanks Rob. Unfortunately it is illegal for rec hunters under our current legislation to take the meat off the property except for direct personal use.

    From here in Texas Loving your videos sir, been binge watching all I can find. This is the first I notice your dog "Skunk" I think it was, had a muzzle on. Curious why that was? First time I've seen you joined by other folks, besides your lovely little lady that is. Did Skunk not like/ get along w the added company? Or was there another reason for the muzzle? Thanks for what you do!!

    • @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
      @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Josh, thanks for there comment and send my love to Texas. Got to Dallas and Houston years ago and felt like I had come home. The reason I had a muzzle on my ol' mate was due to 1080 poison having been laid inn the area. If there is any chance of a stray poison, I put one on them. Glad you like the content, more to come!!

    I'm from the states. Never heard of scrub bulls. I assume they are wild cattle. Do they have any natural predators? Also, thanks for the great videos, I really enjoy your channel.

    • @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry
      @ClarkMcGhiesWildCountry  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Our "scrub" or "cleanskin" cattle are mainly descendants from the original cattle breeds brought into this country. Over the past 150 yrs, when put in a position where they could escape into the ranges, the worst temperament ones did so. Much like the wild cattle in the Big Bend area or your Mustangs. Apart from wild dogs, their only predator is man.
