Quick & smooth zoom = hold Z, left click and drag to right to zoom in on that location drag to left to zoom out. Let go of z and you are right back at whatever tool you were using before.

For those who use a pen tablet the best key to zoom is Ctrl+Space+Clic&drag.

Good overview. One addition to the crop tool. While it makes sense during the workflow to not delete the pixels, once the image is finished I usually do a final crop and delete all that's outside. This can save a lot of file size. depends on your workflow though, but for me once an image is finished, it's finished ;-)

    Always zoom with Alt+Mousewheel

With that I think it was something like ctrl+alt plus the rightclick button on the pen and then drag up and down or left to right. :)

How can we see the before and after affect in the same window with half of it showing before and the other half, after? Also, how can we use the same before and after affect showing in Bridge CS6?
Also, how to get the same image in two windows in Photoshop CS6, one with the original image and the other with the changes being made?
