This is such a symbolic victory for Phil after everything he’s been through, ridiculed since the break up of Pantera. He made it back and now he is king. Together with his TRUE peers Rex, Zakk & Charlie. Justice has been served. Thank you so much, to the whole Metallica and Pantera camps! Much love

I was there. However I seem Pantera 8 times in the 90’s. This was not no where close to seeing the real thing. This is just 2 dudes in Pantera with 2 dudes playing Pantera songs. Honestly it was weird seeing after all the years
The retractable roof is shut, but not solid. This was just before 7:00pm on a sunny Texas day... With a translucent roof and gigantic windows on both ends, it's bright in there until it's dark outside. Sunset that day was about 8.
I'm shocked by the apparent lack of movement in the crowd. Dunno if it's the stadium setup or the angle the video is shot it, but while I hear Pantera all I see is a retirement home party.
I've had a few really good death metal drummers tell me that the beats in Becoming are harder for them to do than the more blazing fast stuff, because it's such a bizarre pattern.
Charlie Benante (Anthrax, S.O.D.) is a fantastic drummer. Perhaps his age is showing here. Zakk Wylde, on the other hand, is just lazy and couldn't be bothered to learn or play the songs correctly or even use the correct pickups.
I was there. The sound quality was awful, it totally ruined the experience for me. Metallica's sound was a little better, but AT&T stadium is just not a good place for this setup with the stage in the middle. Everything was muddy, you could barely hear the guitars at times.
Yes. Sound was bad there for Metallica's 2017 show also...AT&T just isn't suited for music. Felt bad for WVH....his sound was washed out, and he looked more than a little lost. I bought pre-sale tickets mostly to see Pantera, and If I'd have known they were going to place headliners in Austin and the Woodlands....I'd have picked one of those instead.
And still no Dime's guitars anywhere in sight... not even in Arlington... even though Zakk promised to bring them out. Screw that WyldeAudio garbage. What a moneygrab 🤢🤢🤢 RIP Dime and Vinnie.
hell yeah, what a shame of everything..they sucks ...old,slow,too much downtuned...and sadly dime e vinnie arent any more there....SHAME SHAME SHAME TO CALL PANTERA..Dime e vinnie was the KEY of Pantera...
@MentatGhola You're making excuses for Zakk being too lazy to learn the songs properly. This is supposed to be a tribute to Dimebag and Vinnie Paul. You don't go to tributes to see the tribute band do poor imitation of the originals. Zakk couldn't be bothered to learn the solos or even use the correct pickups! At least Charlie has tried his best to replicate Vinnie, and you can hear in this video that even he doesn't get it completely right.

Nothing more to prove.
A victory he didn't deserve. He ruined Pantera in the first place. Pantera will always be the Abbott Brothers.

Love to Phil a true hero!
Love it when security guys are singing along and banging their heads too 🤘🏼
I was there and to be there for the first time they played in years at their home town I felt blessed and headbanged the whole time
Saw them the night before in the woodlands. I know it’s an all star cast. But dang! They haven’t missed a beat! Great show!
I was there too, yelling every damn song! Would definitely pay to see them again.
Yo I was there too. It was pretty awesome
Insane! Look how many people. Legendary band!
Goddamnit this is badass🤘🏻🔥
I believe i read somewhere Phil has chilled out on the smoking and drinking, maybe why he sounds so fucking mint here.
He just stopped drinking...
Hail the leaf
Rip Dime and Vinnie.
LORDS UNMATCHED FOREVER ON AND ON. THE KING OF HEAVY METAL!
RIP DIME AND VINCE!!! IM BORN AGAIN!!!!! WITH SNAKES EYES!
5:04 that scream is badass
That scream at 5:03 gave me goosebumps, Jesus.

So Pantera was the support band for Metallica then ?
Is Benante's double bass pattern the original one? I'm not sure but i think he learned It wrong😅
Why are the house lights up? It's like seeing a concert at a mall.

That's what I thought bad lighting. I want that shit black
That threw the whole thing off for me..

cant go nuts like the old days. ppl will sue for sexual assault if you even bump them with a shoulder :P
There were pits breaking out all over. I lost a $12 beer due to one...
i feel for the drummer, he cant keep up with vinnies double kick groove patterns. would be hard for any drummer to be able to
Yeah. And Phil's voice was fading hard a few times. Luckily zack kept the improv to a minimal mostly.

I got bruised up pretty band in the real pit, not the fake pit in the middle. 🤘

Definitely agreed. Metallica sounded a bit better though

Saw rolling stones there in 2015. It's jerryland, it's shit for sound
Sound and lighting sucked but it was till fkn awesome.
Needs more cowbell..........
Everyone needs to calm down, way too much energy in that crowd and especially onstage, Phil especially, don't want him pulling a muscle. 😊
no shoes lol
Not a fan of stadium shows
Agree. Arena shows are 10x better (40,000 max).
He's dressed for a porta potty

You gatekeepers never stop crying huh
Say you couldn't afford a ticket without saying you couldn't afford a ticket.
Zakk isn't supposed to be in a Dimebag costume. He's his own person. Of course he's going to use his own guitars.
