Solar needs to speak on the bike shutting off on people. They need explain what that is & if it’s been fixed. It’s incredibly dangerous depending on the situation.
true, seems to shut off once every 40 miles or so. it turned off when I was on the PCH highway today, luckily in a easy spot for me to pull off and stop, then it turned right back on once the motor rpm hit 0. weird.
@@JuicedJoyrides Yea, I've seen it happen to a good number of reviewers. It will just randomly shut off in the middle of riding, and then they either stop, or turn it off then on again & it goes right back to normal. I wanted to get one for daily commute purposes, but it's just screaming death trap right now.
@@JuicedJoyrides it's likely a thermal trip that's not working right messing with the firmware and/or it's a firmware bug - usually a little of both. If it's a periodic cut out - heat related - then it makes sense that on the freeway as soon as you pulled off and let it reset itself the air moving had kept the external cooler so the heat was pulled away from the thermal trip as soon as you stopped moving and since there was enough "cold reserve" to bring it down fast, it could even have been a derating curve in the firmware detecting early cooldown trends but I won't give them credit with that level of sophistication in their software lol
That’s why you should have got the APOLLO RFN instead of the Solar, The RFN is easily the best production DirtEbike on the market, It smokes all Surrons, Talaria and most definitely the Eclipse, It’s a monster
Mine was delivered about a month ago and they mentioned they upgraded the controller to heat sink, and i've had no problem regarding shutting off. Only criticism ive got is those grips and the chains which i've changed, but it's sooo fun riding it, wicked machine.
Great road trip for bringing back GTA 5 nostalgia memories like the time racked up a six star wanted level from the top of Capitol Records for a whole five minutes…
Hello I just wanted to say the biggest thank you for recording these videos I’m so poor you could cry so driving my dream e-motorcycle Solar I can’t have, up the hill of Hollywood where I can’t go, ease the pain a bit. Kisses from Sweden
is the solar eclipse the same bike as the velimotor VMX 08? they look 1:1 the same. if yes do you think it worth to get it instead of a surron light bee? im 6'3 and i dont rly feel like putting the 5k ontop the light bee just to have something that is a bit faster. the eclipse prolly just need another controller and can do the same stuff since it already got the 72V battery.
Smog is a reaction that occurs from car exhaust and doesn’t happen much since recent emission laws have changed. Could be wildfire smoke. It’s from Nitrigen oxide.
Very cool, got me wanting one of these! I have to ask though, why do you bounce before you try to pop a wheelie? Just an old habit or you just enjoy bouncing? lol
Dude this video is exactly what I would have done if I had your ebike. I tried doing it on my 60v scooter but my metal frame cracked due to the constant metal fatigue stress to my Chinesium frame
@@JuicedJoyrides My 60V scooter doesn't have a proper suspension system which led to the metal frame cracking. I'm going to have to take it to a welding shop and get it welded after I hammer back in the metal that is protruding from the frame.

Every bike squeaks when you ride it a lot. Just means you need to clean the bearings and suspension. In southern California when you ride in the nice weather and sun all the time I'd wager he doesn't clean it as often as someone who lives in a wetter climate. Dust is likely in the rear shock if you think this bike is squeaking. All of that said, the squeaking you hear at 6 minutes is a bird 😂
its the kickstand, it's not very solid and wobbles a bit, I also need to tighten the screw more but I don't have the star style bit needed. maybe ill get one this week.
How does the Solar E-Clipse ride compared to the Cab Motorworks bike? I think you rode one a while back. Curious which you would choose if you had to pick one.
Very different. Solar feels like a motorcycle and somewhat noisy, and has more torque at low speeds. Cab feels like a heavy bicycle and is completely silent and *looks* more street legal
Great vid, enjoyed the journey…but man, you know technically you stole that bottled water right! And some of those narrows paths with steps were clearly pedestrian only, and you ran a stop sign…..You like to live dangerously😂.
I love watching your videos just to be able to see LA, I plan on moving there soon. This solar bike looks awesome, solar seems to be a great company that makes quality products, but I don't really want to spend half of the money I have on a motorcycle. I think a solar scooter is probably the better way to go. How often do you drive your car in LA? I'm trying to live a car-free lifestyle and I'd like to know how practical that is in LA
Nice, thank you. It really just depends on how far you want to go. Honestly, I mean I have a BMW M2 with a six speed manual and I love to drive, but around here it’s really not much fun and frustrating with traffic so truthfully, I hardly ever drive. I almost always use an electric bike or electric scooter For local transportation, and when you move to LA, you’ll find that you tend to just stick to your neighborhood or a 2 to 3 mile radius because traffic is so inhibiting. But riding personal electric vehicles can kind of totally change it because you can kind of skip the traffic and turn your commute into fun to some degree. But if you need to go kind of far, you’re still going to be car dependent. I’m not sure how much this helps, but in short if you want to make it happen, you could probably get by without a car here as long as you don’t need to go like 20 or 30 miles regularly.
@@JuicedJoyrides Thank you very much for the reply. I'm not married with kids or anything like that, and the united states lacks any sort of mini cars that would make finding parking less of a hassle, so I'd rather just live without one. What are CA ebike registration laws like? Where I live they tell me I need to register my surron but nobody can tell me how to actually do that yet....
supposedly they are coming out with a bash guard soon. I've been enjoying street riding on this bike and don't foresee spending much time on the trails with it, may get street wheels and an upgraded controller soon.
I have not decided. if I sit far forward on the seat the pegs are kinda further back then I'd like them to be, but when I sit further back on the seat they are perfect. regardless, I want to get wider foot pegs with more surface area.
Your contents pretty good, but could you do a write-up somewhere so we can read your review? It's hard to know what your talking about when you don't segment your videos into specifics about the bike. I usually skip to the end to hear the full review as I don't care about you riding around town, I want to know details about the bike. What's the top-speed, how big is the battery, how long does it last on a normal ride, how fast does it charge, what issues have you experienced ( over multiple rides ), is it a smooth ride? Think about it like this: If you had to explain this video to someone, would you speak for 18 minutes or would you get to the point?
thanks, this video is a good summary and "real review" of the bike: th-cam.com/video/j0c_dSjfvcI/w-d-xo.html I posted it to my other bigger channel hope this helps, its much more concise.
Not bad. But I bought my talaria sting mx3 specifically so I don't need to register and insurance as my car insurance went crazy after a few accidents (not even may fault the ones involving other vehicles) and I suranve was 1159 cdn a month plus 2300 on a 2001 Honda CRV .....No I won't pay that. Especially cuz they'll only paid out to $5,000 cars in my 16 years of driving.... I would however like to find some cheap insurance for my bike in case it doesn't get stolen that's my only scare really but I really just don't take it anywhere where I have to leave it unattended for more than a few minutes as I have an alarm and some locks..... But just basic insurance... As long as it's under $200 a month .. or else I'm just not going to pay that much either. Insurance in Ontario is a scam.,
Couldn’t keep up with the scooter which probably costed near the same price as the eclipse acceleration and speed wise n the scooter had cargo and passenger cargo.. this only shows the overprice nature of two wheels e vehicles and this why so many companies are hopping 9n the money train
I want to upgrade the controller for more power. 8kw is honestly perfect for an urban traffic slicing toy to have fun on, it gives you great range since it's not too power hungry. but yeah, I don't ever win races against gas bikes really haha, but also get away with riding on the beach bike path and no plates etc... so far
Those" honor system" food and water stands i feel bad when people rip them off i always leave extra.not saying you did you obviously wouldve paid full if you had it but people in general.without honor society falls
