It seems like Honda is starting to do what Ford did a while back with basically using the entire dashboard panelling and sharing it between more and more models, like how Ford used the Focus interior for the most part in the Escape and Transit, the new CR-V seems to be using the entire dashboard from the Civic. It's not a bad cost-saving measure tbh, no real compromises with it

Chris, I heartily agree with your assertion 2:05 that "Honda seems to design their cars from the inside out" with generous passenger space being the result. Whether you are 5'3" or 6'3" you ought to be able to fit comfortably in a mainstream, family CUV. I really hope someone at Toyota is taking notes because a second generation of terribly cramped TNGA interiors would be intolerable. 🤨

This interior is a massive improvement over the mess of the previous generations, it looks very nice and practical. I think it’s smart to spend the R&D to get it right once and then use it everywhere than to try making different weird interiors like Toyota does. I hate the rav4’s interior, for example. I see reasons for price increase, but they dont mention price gouging from the top to the bottom! That is probably the largest factor. Im in the car business at the lower end(dealer trade driver). We have a fixed scale per drive, while Im hearing of managers having record incomes in these times. Gouging is the name of the game with all of them saying others do it, why not us. More money falls on deaf ears for us on the low end of the totem pole. Sad to say! IT is a greedy world that we live in!

I can hear direct injection pump from miles away, what's cooking with these modern engines, all of them are direct injection, I would rather pay another dollar per hundred kms then to deal with carbon build up. This proves we make disposable cars, unless you want to tear the engine apart to clean it up lool

  • @ludwigtheholyblade79

One thing I really hate about the CRV is the terrible road noise it generates, no matter what tires you use. There simply seems to be no padding at all. In my 2018 CRV, while I was travelling down the 202, which for majority is a cement road, the decibel meter generated a whooping 85 db at 75 miles/hour with radio off. This is "tinnitus" causing sound level if exposed to prolong periods. Even in this video, the road noise seems to be very apparent. So it seems like Honda did not bother to add some soundproofing material to the car.

Same issue with my 2021 CRV. And since I went from a 2019 Pilot to a 2021 CRV, I noticed that immediately. But other than that I have no complains, I just hit 40k miles on it and it’s running in pristine condition.

I agree, old but renewed 2.4 with added turbo and 200-230 hp would be so good for this car. Actually 1.5 turbo with 180 hp is not that bad, but I'll probably go with something else too
