I was about to trade my 2018 accord for one of these but I found this new one so disappointing. Will get a Nissan rogue for same money. More powerful engine, 360 camera. Pano roof, rear charge ports etc.
But the push button electronic gear selection is gone, the panoramic sunroof is gone, the almost fully digital instrument cluster is gone and the led turn signals, gone too
Honda knows its core customers well and they deliver lots of value for the money. I've owned five of their vehicles and still drive one today, a 2018 Accord Sport.
How do you like the Accord? Thinking of trading my 5-series for a 2019 Sport that I saw the other day at a dealer lot. Either that or a 2020 Cadillac CT4-V that was parked right next to it. Kind of leaning toward the Accord for reliability but really liked the RWD aspect of the Cadillac.
Great video. I got this exact car a few months ago. I wanted the sport touring but I needed a car right then and they just weren’t available. It would’ve taken months. It’s a great car though. Very happy with it.
The back looks like a BMW X3. It looks nicer then the HRV too. It seems a lot of these car companies are still having to deal with supply change issues when they’re releasing new vehicles.
Cvt? Why not an ECVT? OR JUST A REGULAR TRANSMISION? I'm disappointed that it has no cargo space in the rear area with the tire, like the passport and pilot.
Honda really missed the mark on the HR-V and CR-V. How does the Civic have a full digital cluster but the HR-V doesn’t? Kia is killing it in tech and styling.
Look up Kia and Hyundai's Theta engine reliability, you may change your mind about giving hard earned money that doesn't last. I agree though, Kia/Hyundai has fantastic looking designs the past what decade now?
@@MrWelfarehater your point? That was the last couple of years when the benchmark was having Apple CarPlay, and driver assist features. It’s 2022 and they’re going backwards. Not full LED rear, no wireless CarPlay, no all digital dash. All things that the new civic has and it’s cheaper.
@@trekkie14901 the point is that Honda's target demographic comes out in full force with their purses buying these vehicles. Although I happen to like the refresh, not a big fan of the CRV. I owned a 2009, traded it for a much more exciting Mercedes E350.

My mother and I purchased a 2023 Honda CR-V at Hughes Honda in Warner Robins, GA on 5/26/2023 We bought the SPORT HYBRID. Color: Canyon River Blue Metallic Interior: Black cloth I love the car. I wish they would've added Sirius XM in that model like they do with the SPORT TOURING HYBRID and the EX-L. We were going to buy it but the SPORT HYBRID was cheaper.
Great review, thank you Sofyan. I find the exterior has the look of an amalgam of other cuv's. I find like the Civic, the designs alternate with each generation. One gen is out there and then the next is more conservative. I find this gen of CR-V is more plain and basic than the last generation. The interior is definitely an improvement from the last generation. I found the fake plastic wood on the last generation was awful. A definite step up for the good. I continue to find it funny when reviewers (and there are so many of them) talk about the dash being soft or not. Not sure why anyone is touching the top of the dash. ;) I look forward to your review on the hybrid.
My dad got one of the original CRVs with a 5 speed (2001 I think), sold it a few years ago but it’s still driving around to this day in Hawaii somewhere. This looks like a great visual upgrade to previous model but not especially innovative, I think the Sport and Sport Touring will definitely be the ones to get.
Still outdated as hell compared to the competition. - No pano roof (Tucson has it) - No 360 cam (Tucson has it. Inexcusable not to have it at this point. Over a decade old feature in all other brands now.) - No cooled seats (Tucson has it) - No heated rear seats (Tucson has it) - Only a 9” infotainment screen (Tucson has a gorgeous widescreen 10.25”. Can even get a 12” on the new Kia Sportage) - Only offers half digital, half analog gauge cluster - No fully digital gauge cluster. (Again, Tucson has this. Even the new Civic does)
@@RKO859 And that’s a problem. They don’t even try anymore. They don’t innovate. They don’t keep up with the competition. It’s sad that other brands are literally cheaper than Honda but offer way more features and luxury (such as comparing the Pilot to the Palisade). Honda is quite literally overpriced at this point. Why pay more for less, when other brands are lightyears ahead of them? (And don’t even bother coming at me with the “Korean reliability” argument. The Korean brands are steadily rising in quality and dependability, and their 10 year warranty takes care of the risk)
@@1MTEK That’s no excuse, honestly. Because Hyundai has the Genesis brand, and they’re able to separate Genesis enough to make it feel a lot more luxurious than Hyundai, while simultaneously offering tons of amazing high tech features on the Hyundais. For example, the Hyundais have up to a 12” infotainment screen, while Genesis go up to nearly 15”, with 3D gauge clusters and crystal gear selectors and other various higher quality materials, and even valet service with the complimentary maintenance plan. Honda and Acura are both so behind, it’s laughable at this point. Yet they have the audacity to charge the same, or even more than Hyundai/Genesis.
It also is a Volkswagen. My Hondas have been bullet proof and I'd expect the CRV to be hassle free. My German car is a nightmare when something goes wrong. It takes weeks for parts to come in.
Honda like Subaru has given up! They make nothing remotely interesting and just try to cruise on their past success. As a former Subaru and Honda owner I have no problem standing by this claim. My Subaru was actually a very poorly built POS that nickeled and dimed me. The Honda was flawless as would have been replaced with another Honda but Honda doesn't offer the features that people really want for the exorbitant prices they charge. The wife replaced the Honda with a Mazda and is thrilled. I replaced my Subaru with a Hyundai and couldn't believe how much better vehicle it was. Honda better get it together or they will quickly start losing sales.
Conservative companies. They tend to keep it subtle than taking on risks and afraid of upsetting consumers. But what they do actually works, like not all people like gear buttons like in Hyundai’s or the such.

The 2018 silver/black LX wheels always looked best IMO, back when that model had the unbreakable 2.4. If they could bring back the naturally aspirated 2.4, those wheels, then there'd be enough budget for cooled seats. Pragmatic utopia 👍
Honda has not resolved the oil dilution issue. The Honda CR-V is among Honda's top selling models, and was their #1 most popular vehicle model for several years. However, recent model year Honda CR-V vehicles reportedly experience oil dilution thanks to an alleged defect in their Earth Dreams 1.5L direct injection engines.Jun 9, 2022
I am disappointed in the CRV. Slow 9-10 seconds to 60 makes it semi dangerous. The exterior styling is nice and the interior is ok (something besides black). I would definately get the CX-5 turbo with the smaller interior. Damn the gas mileage, when I floor it the vehicle needs to move. I currently don't have rugrats and I think Honda certainly missed the opportinuty to showcase what Honda can do. I have owned four Hondas in my life and have enjoyed each (currently Ridgeline) but if this is the direction the company is headed the Ridgeline may be my last.
Semi dangerous lol as I do agree it's slow what situation are you ever in when you need to floor the car from a dead stop because your life is in danger back in the 90s 9 seconds 0-60 was considered super quick and those cars were half as safe as this thing
This is a car for old people who just need to drive to their doctor appointments and pick up some groceries. They're all about going slow and conserving fuel.
Find it funny that the Kia Sportage has the same 0-60 and every review calls it way underpowered. Let's see how they justify their beloved CRV being just as slow
No fully digital instrument pannel No ventilated front seats No heated back seats No panoramic roof Weaker hybrid performance Low towing ratings Low mpg This thing holds no ground in front of the 2023 Rav4 !!
@@DarthNero they both are nearly similarly priced !! I am talking about fully loaded trims !! Crv doesn't offer these features not even as an option !!

Have a 2023. Love the car. So nice to drive and live with. In earlier Accords, Honda had the 1.5 L AND the great 2.0 turbo which I guess not many bought. The CR-V needs the 2.0 turbo. How about a CR-V R? 🙂
It’s okay, but I see nothing in it to make us swap out our ‘17 EX although wireless CarPlay would be a nice feature. If a panoramic roof were available, that might be worth at least considering an upgrade in a few years.

Wow so many downgrades from last generation. No more LED turn signals, all that Piano Black plastic, slower than last gen. Can't believe I am saying this but I prefer the fake wood from last gen over all that piano black plastic.
I saw this becoming available but purchased a 2018 exl model and the reason why is because I feel like the interior in the new one doesn’t have its own character like the last model was. The body style didn’t appeal to me as much as the old one either. My 2018 model however has pull handles in the cargo area and the seat lay basically flat. Just my opinion though. I wish honda would have done it’s own special twist with this one and left this look to the HRV
My first impression is that this looks so 'plain'. I have a 2017 CR-V and it looks better than this 2023 model. I am being honest. I am in the market for another crossover SUV and was really looking fwd to the new CRV but to me this 2023 is a disappointment. Yes, it is new and has the latest tech and all that. But as a consumer and a big Honda CRV fan (until now...) I always look for how it looks externally and everything else comes second. Anyways, thank you for your review.

when crv 5 came out, it makes crv 4 and previous version looks so outdated. but for this one...nah...it is indeed looks great ..but it does not really give that superior looks and yet, still side by side with crv 5, crv 5 still looks great and as of different variants instead of previous version.
I wish reviewers would include the side and frontal impact results on their reviews.
A lot of times those results aren’t out yet.
I think this car is too new and hasn’t even been crash tested yet.
When these reveiws are made those tests haven't been done yet
The backup camera not taking up the whole screen is super disappointing.
Manufacturers can’t supply current
models let alone new ones ! Why do they even bother introducing them ?
I was about to trade my 2018 accord for one of these but I found this new one so disappointing. Will get a Nissan rogue for same money. More powerful engine, 360 camera. Pano roof, rear charge ports etc.
I personally like the last exterior design better than this. Interior is much better this time around tho.
But ---when someone is spending Over 30 grand on a SLOW CAR ---who gives a F------k about Value or features
@@Stressless2023 Accord a great car except for the CVT transmission in the 1.5T. Get the Sport 2.0T with the 10 speed automatic.
9.1 seconds?
That's borderline unsafe in 2022. Why??
Glad they made it a bit more boxy, more upright yet planted. Hybrid's the one I'd get.
Great video. I got this exact car a few months ago. I wanted the sport touring but I needed a car right then and they just weren’t available. It would’ve taken months. It’s a great car though. Very happy with it.
They said they don’t have the demand for the features everyone wants, when really they just are being cheap.
4-5k price increase with little improvement. Seems overpriced 😮
What isnt

Little? Dont try to undermine things to sound knowledgement or superior
No 360 camera! Dealbreaker!!!
The EX-L trim should have a power rear seat option. And better looking wheels. The engine should be a 2.5 L turbo 4 cylinder.
Y’all kill me with the screen complaints. What do you want? - a big screen TV in the dash.
Honda sells around 350,000 CRVs annually, apparently Honda is doing something right.
@@MrWelfarehater I’m just saying they seem to be going backward when it comes to technology. Plus I test drove the new HR-V a couple weeks ago. That thing is god awfully slow. For as slow and unresponsive as it was, it should be getting more than 30 mpg
My mother and I purchased a 2023 Honda CR-V at Hughes Honda in Warner Robins, GA on 5/26/2023
We bought the SPORT HYBRID.
Color: Canyon River Blue Metallic
Interior: Black cloth
I love the car. I wish they would've added Sirius XM in that model like they do with the SPORT TOURING HYBRID and the EX-L.
We were going to buy it but the SPORT HYBRID was cheaper.
The previous model looks more premium than this one
The hybrid better be a lot faster than this. Nobody wants to drop $40k+ on a 9 second 0-60 car.
Hundreds of Thousands of people will. Most people don't buy one for a 0-60 time. And they shouldn't. 9 seconds..8, 7...who cares. It drives nicely.
8:40 I had to rewind many times just to hear that thunder loud horn!
- No pano roof (Tucson has it)
- No 360 cam (Tucson has it. Inexcusable not to have it at this point. Over a decade old feature in all other brands now.)
- No cooled seats (Tucson has it)
- No heated rear seats (Tucson has it)
- Only a 9” infotainment screen (Tucson has a gorgeous widescreen 10.25”. Can even get a 12” on the new Kia Sportage)
- Only offers half digital, half analog gauge cluster - No fully digital gauge cluster. (Again, Tucson has this. Even the new Civic does)
Honda is still Honda. The name itself will sell itself. They dont need all these extra stuff to sell.
Honda has an Acura problem. They can't include all those features without competing against their higher margin brand.
You’re comparing a Hyundai to Honda, there is no comparison.
VW Tiguan is the best in class it offers:
Panorama roof , roof rails , full digital cockpit, No CVT!
CRV beats it with fuel economy though.
@@DarthNero It’s small difference in mpg, but
VW DSG transmission is amazing .
cx-5 is still the best value.
It also is a Volkswagen. My Hondas have been bullet proof and I'd expect the CRV to be hassle free. My German car is a nightmare when something goes wrong. It takes weeks for parts to come in.
But then you have to own and maintain the nightmare that is VW.
Consumer: How is the 0-60?
Honda Representative: Yes
King of understand why Honda pushed the embargo - Man 9 sec to 0 to 60 is slow..Hopefully the hybrid powered one will be faster....
Hmm...same engine that had / or still has the oil dilution issue?
Good luck getting one of these at sticker price from your local Stealership ! My stealer has a 5k markup (market adjustment) for any hybrid
Why no talk on missing engine hood insulation...first sign of cost cutting with the whole vehicle.
Time for the Koreans to take over . They honestly deserve it
Conservative companies. They tend to keep it subtle than taking on risks and afraid of upsetting consumers. But what they do actually works, like not all people like gear buttons like in Hyundai’s or the such.

Looks nice. Does the EX-L have Navigation?
The 2018 silver/black LX wheels always looked best IMO, back when that model had the unbreakable 2.4. If they could bring back the naturally aspirated 2.4, those wheels, then there'd be enough budget for cooled seats. Pragmatic utopia 👍
Well said.
No fully digital instrument pannel
No ventilated front seats
No heated back seats
No panoramic roof
Weaker hybrid performance
Low towing ratings
Low mpg
This thing holds no ground in front of the 2023 Rav4 !!
I agree. I think this is no upgrade. Not in the slightest.
How about the price? You forget to include the price difference of the RAV4 that offers all that. Lets here it, i’ll wait.
@@DarthNero they both are nearly similarly priced !!
I am talking about fully loaded trims !!
Crv doesn't offer these features not even as an option !!
Are you related to The Count?
The motor has to be some kind of sick joke. That’s legitimately dangerous to be that underpowered
The honk really got me 😆 🤣 😂
Too bad there’s not a flat load area with the rear seats down. That’s an important feature for car campers.
Honda cutting costs all over the place, the EX, now the base model, used to give you a ton of standard options, now they cheapened the wheels and lost the fog lights.. disappointing.
But the Honda interior still looks and feels more premium than the RAV4 and it has better build quality better materials fit and finish than the RAV4
Silver wheels 235/60 R18 seems like a great choice for a crossover. The color is definitely better than black, IMHO.
Have a 2023. Love the car. So nice to drive and live with. In earlier Accords, Honda had the 1.5 L AND the great 2.0 turbo which I guess not many bought. The CR-V needs the 2.0 turbo. How about a CR-V R? 🙂
Waiting for the CRV hybrid review! Hope it comes out this week
Does the 2023 CRV have Over the Air Updates?
I saw a Update selection on a pic for the head unit.
It’s okay, but I see nothing in it to make us swap out our ‘17 EX although wireless CarPlay would be a nice feature. If a panoramic roof were available, that might be worth at least considering an upgrade in a few years.
Disagree, Tiguan looks from the side but i like it .
First CR-V that i like inside out .
I like when you don't wear sunglasses ( being picky ) but you make a better connection with us .
Btw you are one if not the best reviewer .
1:00 I wish honda put noise insulation on hood look so empty
Good catch
Agreed. It looks unfinished and cheap
How is the longevity on the Honda CVT Transmission (cost to own). I am leery about this type of transmission vs. an automatic transmission.
Yep, I won't buy one.
These silver 18" wheels look way better than the larger black wheels. I'm not a fan of the black wheel trend at all.
Wow so many downgrades from last generation. No more LED turn signals, all that Piano Black plastic, slower than last gen. Can't believe I am saying this but I prefer the fake wood from last gen over all that piano black plastic.
NOBODY likes piano black trim. Not sure why manufactures keep adding it, other than they have their collective heads stuck up their asses.
No USB back charge ports like my 2017 exl
You were out in my neck of the woods, Great review as always!
I hope the ride isn't as firm as previous generations, those made the slightest road imperfection feel like a speed bump.
Any update on when the Media drive will be for the new Civic TypeR.
Hey! We like your TH-cam channel name! 😮 and yes, we will be driving the new Type R in Nov! Stay tuned.
Looks like - Front end - Mazda CX 5, Side- Volkswagen Tiguan , Rear end - Volvo xc 60
please do an indept review of the all so popular 2023 Kia Sportage !
Will inventory continue to be an issue? What do you think the dealer markups will be?
They'd be zero if people would stop paying them.
It’s a huge shame youre forced to get the hybrid options to get the nicer looking exterior
I’m in the exact same situation. My 2017 is more attractive, at least the exterior. I’m looking at the Tucson Limited, CX5 Premium plus or maybe the RAV 4. So hard to find the “perfect” car.
Non-LED turn signals, brake/tail lights, or headlights, are honestly a deal breaker for me now in this day and age.
Only the turn signals in the rear are not LED. Everything else is
DID THEY FIX THE COLD START WHERE GAS PASSES THE RINGS AND "WATERS DOWN" THE ENGINE OIL?
The oil dilution issue?
Dunno
But that's why I'm hanging onto the old Honda engines as long as I can
K24 and j35 ftw
Why you shouting bro?
I love the new boxy look, you are right prevoous look was frompy.
Great channel and review as always! I’m loving Honda and it’s new styles. I’m waiting for the 2023 Honda Pilot, dealership is already asking for deposit😅. -Luan & Evelyn
I think a lot of people forget that this is not the crv Honda wants people to buy. The CRV sport and sport touring is the one Honda wants people to buy.
