I lived in Miramar just south of Porto for ten years. Prices have risen but if you live here you get to know where to go, you can eat very cheap at lunch time in family run restaurants with good wholesome food. Traveling to nearby places such as Braga or Averio is very inexpensive by train, also if you ate 60+ it is half price, be sure to have photo identity if wanting a discount. Beautiful city, lovely people ❤️
hi I live in portugal close to Lisbon and have to say 4€ for a beer is expensive for portuguese standards, at a cafe out of the city centers or at some parties (like uni parties) we get a "mini" for 1€ or a large cup for like 2,5€ also my haircuts I usually go for a barber shop that does 14,50€ so you can defenetly get them cheaper but that requires either luck or going out of your way to find the places
I´m "Portuense" (natural from Porto). Yr video was very realist. Even for me... Good conclusion: yes, you liked to live in Porto. Fantastic. This city and their people, deserves that!
I live in the north of England. Apart from the port wine and the public transport I thought the prices you paid were surprisingly high. Even the beer seemed to be as expensive or even more expensive than it is here. The food you bought in cafes and restaurants seemed particularly expensive. A speciality sandwich and a coffee for €15?
We went to Lisbon last October and loved it. Made a few videos about what we could see over a week and we barely accomplished the minimum (so much to see). Living in Porto for the length of time you did must have given you a good perspective as a foreigner. We want to go there soon for our next trip. Great video!
Overall you did well. I’m sure your circumstances were difficult due to Covid. Without the pandemic I would spend much less on accommodations and much more on eating out, entrance fees to sites, etc. I just subscribed. I heard Albania is beautiful and very well priced. Look forward to checking out those videos
This is a great video! I've been to Porto twice as a nomad and I'm thinking of spending at least year there. This helps a lot with things I wanted to find out. Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video! It's been incredibly informative and I enjoyed seeing it from your point of view. The costs seem pretty acurate and right where I thought they might be.
That monthly cost sounds pretty good actually. Too bad the walls of your apartment are so thin(!) We are thinking of retiring in the south where from what I understand, is a bit less expensive generally. We'll need two beds and two baths though, but it sounds like two of us could do it on a budget of 3k US. Great video. Thanks for sharing!
A very eloquent guy. You can just sit and listen to him. Yes, I like Porto too. Had a great time there a few years back and also stayed in the center of town. Fact is that one can get by with very little but eating out will get you.
If I can afford the monthly rent, I would love to stay a month and travel all of Portugal. I might stay somewhere in the middle of the country, and travel north or south, depending on the area I visit first. Guessing the terrain is very different as you travel south, and more city like up north.
What a great video! Wow! Your month was incredibly affordable without feeling deprived or like you were missing out on anything. Everything you spent your money on is understandable and would have cost a LOT more here in The States. Very economical with excellent quality. Well done! Small but super cute studio. Was the washing machine also a dryer?
Just wondering Mate... I would love to have this opportunity to do it as well; How are you able to afford it? How do you earn money ( You living while overseas) how do you do it remotely jobwise?
simplicity comes first . Thank you , cristal clear video. How do you deal with health insurance, is this still compulsory from you home country, if so do you need to add the local health premiums. Do you still ve citizenship from your home country.? Are you still registered in your home country , if yes why ?
I have thought of moving to Porto, but your prices scare me a bit. I think you led an economical life the month you were there, though. I would hope to find cheaper living accommodations.
Nice video, because your delivery is very clear and interesting to watch, plus decent editing too. well done. I think you could have done better on accommodation costs in Porto, but people have to understand that Porto is one of the most expensive parts of Portugal, almost all of Portugal, outside of areas like Porto, Lisbon, Estroil, are much cheaper, certainly significantly cheaper than the UK and Ireland. In addition, don't be worrying yourself about Covid, anybody your age with a normal immune system is very capable of overcoming it naturally. There is a lot of misinformation and overreaction going on, in time it will become clear to everybody that natural herd immunity was the best option for a virus that over 99.99% can overcome naturally. I am not remotely a fan of EUA untested vaccines, however, everybody has to do the research and make up their own mind on that count. I strongly recommend that people first look at the official Government controlled databases for vaccine adverse affects, EU-EMA, UK-yellocard and US-VAERS. Meanwhile, I suggest you keep your vitamin D and C/zinc levels strong and you will be in tip top shape for your adventures as a Digital Nomad. Good Luck.
God loves you so much that He sent His Holy Son Jesus from heaven to earth, to be born of a virgin, to grow up and die on a cross for our sins, and to be put into a tomb 3 days and rise from the dead the third day, and He (Jesus) went back up to heaven. We must receive Sinless Jesus sincerely to be God's child(John 1:12).After we get saved by grace through faith in Christ, if we truly love the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will obey Jesus(John 14:15). Mark 1:15 "And saying, the time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: Repent ye, and believe the gospel." Jesus said in John 14:15 "If you love Me, keep My commandments. "There's a real hell. It says in Revelation 21:8 "But for the cowardly, & unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, & immoral persons & sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone..." Please sincerely receive Holy Jesus and put your true faith and trust in Him today and please repent. Will you have a Real encounter with Holy Lord Jesus and stay in a Genuine relationship with Him daily please?

True but the beers you can get for 1€ are not craft beers

Great video. Useful information :)
Thank you for sharing!!
I always wanted to visit Porto. I think think $1,262.15 for one month is cheap. Thank you for sharing!
Be aware that most the people here earn half of that. and the vast majority earns way less than that ...
Awesome tour👍👍👍 ciao from italy 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹

I think that what you spent was reasonable, though I don't know if I could deal with the thin walls.
Thank you. Very interesting. Useful as I plan to spend winter in Porto

What do you do for a living?
Excellent video! Makes me want to go to Porto. Thank you for the very interesting information, great video!,
Great video, and great job economizing. You could have spent much more!
Just wondering Mate... I would love to have this opportunity to do it as well; How are you able to afford it? How do you earn money ( You living while overseas) how do you do it remotely jobwise?
Is there any way to cut that housing expense by 1/3rd or could I rent a room for a month for $250 USD. 💵 I enjoyed your video! ✌🏻😁

Nice voice
The rent is too expensive.....nothing for under $500/month in a safe area in town?
Today, that's $1,318.55 US Dollars. Incredibly cheap!
That is an economical month in Porto. The edits are too fast in this video. I could not see well what you were showing.
25 Euros for a haircut? Seems awfully expensive
at least it was not a bad haircut at all :-)
More than three quarters of expenses went to rent.....
What country is Porto in??
Portugal
When in doubt use Google.
E você é de onde? Veio de Onde? Marte? Neptuno? É um ET que aterrou no planeta terra e não sabe nada ? Ah...Abraços
Poland :-)
you could have done better with the air dresser, i think! I mean for the budget.
How is Porto for English speaking people.

Explain the cost in American money so we really can understand the true cost
Do you not have Google? 🙄
Typical American. Please, just stay at home.
