Even though I was 6 years old when this happened, I remember the flight from South Africa when we first moved to the UK, we were on an airbus flying from Johannesburg to Adis Ababa on route to London when about half way through the flight, I believe we were over the equatorial part of the Congo or else Western Uganda or something like that, we encountered a line of thunder storms we could not avoid without going over 1000 miles or so away, so we flew through a thunder head, and I remember being scared out of my mind, but also fascinated as we passed through the thunder head in a large airbus. My mom says we were at about 31,000 feet or so. 6 year old me had no idea what was going on as it was my first time on a plane, and I just had to pick the window seat so I was clinging on to my brother's hand with my eyes glued to the window as a bit of lightning flashed around us. Though that was 12 years ago now, I remember it as if it was yesterday. Our flight from Adis Ababa to London then our small flight from London to Manchester must have been relatively uneventful because I don't remember those. I've visited South Africa to see my grandparents every couple years or so throughout my life and never have I ever had a flight quite like that one when we moved to the UK from SA. Now I do direct flights from London to Johannesburg and back, though I have done the route through Adis Ababa a few times too. So yeah, I wanted to share my experience with flying through a thunder storm with you.
went on a sichuan airlines flight and flew like a fighter pilot, CAT for like 1 hour and thunder turbulence for another hour, didnt even get to eat cause the food would spill
