  • Here is some close up footage of a colony of Bats taken at Burrangong Creek in Young NSW Australia. Bats have always been a somewhat mysterious creature to me so it was good to get a close up detail of them. Hope you enjoy :)

      That's a good way of putting it, I guess I did capture them in their natural state although one or two of them seemed a bit camera shy..... like myself sometimes 😋. Glad to hear you liked it, hope you have had a nice weekend so far 🌻🙂

    You captured these rather strange and noisy creatures, hanging there in the trees, very good. I’ve heard that in some cities (like Sydney) they - or rather their excrements - have become something of a plague because of the sheer number of these animals. But looked at closely, they are indeed interesting and as you say mysterious creatures, their slightly ill reputation not the least owed to the legend of Dracula, I guess. Very nice video!

      Hi Rolf, a few days prior to this video we saw a never ending stream of them flying to roost for the night, it went on for an eternity, literally thousands of them so no doubt, they can reach plague proportions under the right conditions. I'm glad I wasn't under their flight path, I wouldn't fancy copping one of their bombs 😱😟. I would also often see them flying over Centennial Park in the late afternoon and heading south, possibly down to the National Park. It was the first time I had seen them up close so it was good to capture them on video, something I can look back on over the years. Glad you liked this video and thanks for commenting 🙂

      It's the Little Red Flying-Fox species that congregate in numbers that can damage the roost trees.
      However , the problem is caused by humans destroying their habitat and food trees , leaving the bats no option other than to look for these in urban environments.
      Once again , animals are being blamed for what we are doing to them.

      It's a shame I didn't see any bats with babies, I definitely would have had a closer look. I'll be in the same area down the track a bit and who knows, perhaps I will be able to get close up footage of some baby bats, it would be good viewing. Thankyou for watching and commenting 👍🙂

    how much zooming?

    • @grantar7790
      @grantar7790  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm not sure how much I zoomed in as I was too busy concentrating, I should have taken some notice, it would have been interesting to know. There were some focusing issues at times, the camera is new and I'm still getting used to it.
