Music in this video: th-cam.com/video/M9mfn9WAiVc/w-d-xo.html&ab_channel=TheNickofTime It's modeled pretty closely after FNaF4's in-game ambience, but I didn't want the limitations of just using that original, so I made my own. I tried to keep the spirit, and diverge as needed. It also includes Leon Riskin's 'Watch Your Six' riff again. FNaF4: The FNaF game which takes place primarily during dreams. In this animation, I try to use the normal gameplay as inspiration, with plenty of embellishment to make it more interesting to watch as a video. Since FNaF4 has a pretty strong horror inclination, more so than any of the other installments, I thought it appropriate to sprinkle in a bit more spook than I usually do; but, for any viewers for whom it might be a problem, rest assured that there are no jumpscares in this one.
Yeah toward the end he did a really good job implementing the concept where dreams aren’t supposed to make sense. An endless hallway behind the door, the silhouette of Nightmare Freddy just slowly forming on the wall, but you’re holding the light so there’s no way a shadow could be formed if there’s nothing in front of you, then turning around and realizing you’re no longer holding the flashlight. The light is right behind you now, and behind Nightmare Freddy
That is pure terror right there. No voices, a growing fear that you can’t describe and the feeling that it might just be your imagination, yet it feels so real. Couple that with the amazing ambiance and great animation, and it is so unnerving. This was SO GOOD, and keep up the amazing work!
At least we have some who actually describes what’s so good about things instead of: “OMG THIS WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Thank you, that's very much the mindset I was working with: I wanted to picture how the basic events of FNaF4 would have been handled if it were a scene in a movie instead of a game.
3:46 that was the most terrifying thing I’ve seen in awhile. I was thinking “are we going to hear breathing?” And then I saw the outline of the mouth moving towards the door and almost actually jumped. Amazing work, and incredibly atmosphere.
1:24 You can hear the sound of the spring closing and that was awesome. 3:55 This was a "When you see it you'll shit bricks" Moment and I didn't see it the first time either. Quality. And I love so much that at the end they were all just.. watching you quietly, they didn't run at you and they were partially obscured by haze. The only negative feedback I have is that 1:59 didn't quite sound like he ran into the room, sounded like he was still outside, but if it did sound like he came inside I'd have shit myself. Brilliant animation and not one jumpscare.
He's quite light on his feet for what he is. Foxy _would_ be more terrifying in-game if he hid behind the door when you opened it before reaching the closet, though..
i genuinely think this is the first time i have ever held my breath while feeling uneasy , not scared ,,, just very VERY uneasy , watching this was such a rush and was so much more enjoyable than i expected it to be , good lord

Oh this, this is good. You've always been excellent with atmosphere and setting a mood, but you knocked it out of the PARK, here! There were so many moments where I was legitimately creeped out, like that moment where Chica recedes back into the hallway. You didn't have to do a Resident Evil-esque camera angle of her moving out of frame in the foreground, but I am so glad you did. That's just one of many little touches I'm appreciating, here. Another one I love is the Freddles diving back into the Freddy plushie in a way that feels almost dreamlike, while their cries sound like they're being rewound. Like they've got little cassettes inside of them that play those high-pitched growls. Yeah, I think I'm gonna be thinking about how FNAF 4 could've been like this for a while, now.
It just keeps you on constant edge. When there’s a chance to jump scare…it just keeps going…so there is no release of tension. An amazing animation, as always!
I love this. So much is here that can and absolutely should be praised, but one thing stands out to me compared to the game more, and it's something that the first game did quite well too for the most part - they don't move quickly. Sure, every FNaF entry has had some point where they shift quicker than the rest, but 4 has always had pretty much invariably quick animations. Bonnie and Chica moving back around the corners, the movement of your character, the Freddles, and of course the jumpscares, all of it is very fast-paced. Slowing it down lets you think more, after all, so it keeps the game tense and avoids letting you get a good look at your adversaries, and often by the time you do it's already too late. But this, where they remain cloaked in unnatural shadow, framed unrealistically, and always partially hidden, is amazing horror. As the description mentions, intentional continuity errors are also present, and the ones I like the most are the ones which otherwise would be for the sake of the viewer - the part where Chica is on the other side of the door and the protagonist _knows_ by sort of projecting themselves across it while holding it, or the ending part where the character moves so very, very fast, almost feeling like freefall for some of it, and the flashlight then slows and falls behind, hovering behind them, is also so very amazing. I love the detail that Freddy doesn't have his eyes glowing - he's clearly seeing you, but isn't really... showing it, I suppose. His eyes don't glow, but his teeth and bowtie face the camera and the looks given by the Freddles show that the viewer is still seeing what the protagonist sees, and Freddy is simply opting to not show his gaze. Foxy did it too, and I loved the detail he had with catching the door, showing the hook, and subsequently not having such burning eyes when slowly advancing. The movement of the Freddles is also one of the best things about this, the way they sort of rewind back into the plush, which also almost appears to look at the protagonist despite never moving. Love it so, so much. There's a lot more to appreciate here but if I kept going I would be here forever, and so many have noted their own favorites. Your work is truly unparalleled, I can't wait to see what you decide to do next. I do wonder what the reactions to this will be in video form as well. Another detail I've realized a day later is also that, when Foxy's hook gets caught in the closet door, it's not only in a different position, but poised for a downwards swing towards the protagonist. You don't even notice it the first time, because it's moved and that's the main focus, but he was ready to swipe just before the doors closed.
I really like the tone of your music/ambience in all of your fnaf related videos. It's pretty calm and silent for the most part, but grabs your attention immidietaly. Not to include how well it sync with the video it's attatched to. Now that I think of it, it feels like the Tron legacy soundtrack but much more calm and quiet. In regards to the animation. It's not something we are used from you, but what you did here is done amazingly! We've mostly seen animations from you that are more like showcases are present a small situation. Here we have a full story. The change of perspective from a third person "watching" view like in your other animations to first person works well with what we have in this animation. Great Work!
i love how there's no jumpscare, and it's actually like a real dream! the music is even better, just adds more to the whole feel of dread. this is very well-done, great stuff.
Ur animating everything I wanted horror to be like. Pure dread. The thrill. It’s so much mind agonizing for me to wait for the jumpscare that never comes.
At one point in the brainstorming stage, that bit was going to be even closer to the hallway scene in Help Wanted, complete with more doors for Bonnie and Chica to reach out of, but I decided that might have been a little much, so I reeled it back a bit and just kept the idea of Freddy's shadow.
Impressive how you managed, without cheap jumpscares AND by using pretty slow movement, you still managed to create a ridiculous amount of tension and fear
I love that you can hear them breath like in the game but the sound is different it sounds more like a real life predator like a tiger. And one of the most creepy things about them is that you can actually see a little bit of them when they get close up and personal
Oh my god, I agree _exactly_ with every word in the description. I miss the dreamlike feeling of the old FNaF 4 teasers, and I've been trying to find animations that bring that feeling back. _This did exactly that._ I don't like the designs of the Nightmares in a lot of contexts; they feel too busy and over-designed to me, which is a big pet peeve of mine. I pretty much always prefer simpler and cleaner character designs. BUT, I think there are examples of the Nightmares' designs working. And the best example of that is the early teasers with the crazy lighting and colors. They have this vibe like you're looking into a hellish, shadowy alternate dimension, and I love it. That bizarre world is the one these characters were made for. Watching this, the video on updating the Nightmares' designs, and the one on alternate attack animations for them made me realize something. Not only do I like the Nightmares, but when used correctly, I think they might be my favorite generation of animatronics from the franchise.
Good god that hook down the center of the doors gave me chills. I love the animalistic nature of the animatronics too, super cool and another all round brilliant animation :)
I've seen this video notification a few days ago and I kinda feel bad for restraining to watch this video immediately. I was at the edge of my seat the whole video. I love how you focus on visual cues, puzzling both the kid and us the audience. And reading your description, I was wholeheartedly agree. FNaF 4 was too plain and simple, much worse it's barely had atmosphere without sound. Can't help with the fact that it was super repetitive and predictable, once you overcome your noise-triggered anxiety. The game should emulate more dream-aesthetic qualities. I wish you could experiment further with this concept, would be interesting to see how you utilize Fredbear/Nightmare. Perhaps by blurring the dream and make it more vivid? Who knows! Can't wait to see more from you!
I do have a bit of an idea for a potential Fredbear/Nightmare short: My interpretation of Nightmare is that he's meant to show the dream starting to change, and drift further away from the original inspiration (Fredbear), in the way dreams tend to do. So if I were to make an animation of it, it would start out normal enough, following the standard Fredbear gameplay, and then begin devolving into nonsense, with Fredbear turning into Nightmare along the way.
Now THIS is pure horror! The sheer dread and anticipation of a jumpscare is far more intense than the jumpscare itself. Very brilliantly executed, and the lighting is incredible too.
I like to imagine the slow movements of the child going around the bedroom is the sort of running that happens in dreams. Ones where you're trying to run for whatever reason but it almost feels more like you're practically wading through water and not getting anywhere quick enough (yet oddly enough, falling is still very quick, like how the child gets knocked down by the door).
My favorite part is probably how the freddles are animated frame by frame, which gives them a sort of jittery feeling, almost like it's stop motion! I love it ^.^
I love how you animated this to look exactly like the game but more of a childs nightmare aswell. The movements are insanely smooth and im glad i found your channel! I have 0 regrets subsribing to you
The whole time I was waiting for a jumpscare and ngl I’m kinda glad there wasn’t 😅 this was so awesome! Very spooky. I think Foxy slowly coming out of the closet at the end was the most anxiety-inducing bit for me
The moment when the freddles are gathering but the second you try to shine your flashlight on them, your focus on the door lessens and the door opens slightly is horrifying and gave me panic I never experienced before.
God, this is absolutely amazing! I love how the sounds and animation just captures what could be actually happening in a realistic scenario. Great job!!
That's the best compliment I could possibly receive regarding this video, nailing down that elusive 'bad dream feeling' was the part that was most important to me.
Ho wow this was intense, now I really felt something. THIS ! Is the true horror of fnaf 4, this is where you feel the same as the Crying Child. This is highly underrated
I think the “dreams” in FNAF 4 are just Michael being tormented by his father William using the illusion disc technology from the Funtime animatronics, rather than the comatose thoughts of his brother the Crying Child.
This was a popular theory a few years ago, when people were first looking for ways to fit the illusion disks from the books into the game canon: in the current state of the lore it is partly true, namely the part about it being from Michael's POV. The possibility of the Nightmares being real machines, however, was ruled out in one of those seemingly innocent guidebooks with secret lore hints, I think it was the 'Survival Logbook'. One of the clues in it simultaneously confirmed the game to be a dream, and confirmed the dream to belong to Michael. But, the actual house in FNaF4 is still a real-life place, as we see in Sister Location.
OMG I LOVED IT i always felt like fnaf 4 was missing something but i loved it i always craved something more from fnaf 4 and this is it omg i love all of your content its so unique and creative
This is insanely goood and in bone chilling way the whole this seems like how crying child felt I absolutely love your animation and your style of music it’s all so amazing
This is what I hope for from the five nights at Freddy’s movie. I’ve been scared worse, but this is slow, well thought out horror that tells you “Something is wrong, but you knew that from the start.”
This was incredible!!! No cheap jumpscares, but you're waiting for one. My only criticism is the footsteps. The room is carpet, not wood. Other than that, this truly scared me. *especially* when chica slowly came into view. And I can't deny it, the freddles crawling on freddy was adorable hehehe ☺💗💗 amazing work!!!
I don't know if this will change your mind or not, but the footsteps thing at least was intentional. I deliberately used incorrect sound effects for several things in this animation, such as the closing doors sounding like industrial metal ones despite being regular domestic wood. The footsteps also happen far less frequently than it should logically take to cross a room with a regular human stride. The goal was to create another source of tension, where you know there should a footstep coming, but it holds off for just a moment more than you'd think. Coupled with the sound effects being off, it's all meant to add to the 'dream feeling'.
@@TheNickofTime ohhhh so you wanted to create a true dreamscape, where we dream for axample of our childhood homes, but something is really off? I get those dreams constantly lol. And that never releases, not even a slight jump! Pure love for this, keep it up, you're such an incredible person! 💜❤🤎💛
Brother, I think you mastered FNaF Horror on TH-cam. Say what you will about the VHS series of videos- (thats over done now a-days imo), but this. No jumpscares, no tricks, just pure dread.
You’re probably thinking of fan content, there were a lot of edits around FNaF4 around its time of release. I remember one particularly well-made one which showed the player leaving the bedroom down the hall to check up on the plushtrap hallway mid-game. There’s also the fangame Five Nights at Candy’s 3, which is quite FNaF4-ish and features you looking underneath the bed to check for monsters.
Omg I loved it but was immediately pissed at the sound of the alarm, guess it really proves I'd rather be ripped to shreds than be waken up by that alarm again
This in animation gem. I doubt I could mention anything or put it any better than some commenters have already done, but the feel is spot on here. But I gotta say that the moment with Chica coming out of the darkness(if you can even see it thanks to YT) was really a breathtaker(haha funny, she breaths and you soon might not be). Great work!
Moment starting in 02:26 to 02:45 really speaks nerve breaking dread. Why wardrobe doors won't close, turning lights on to see what is it till seeing hook slowly lowering down till hook gets pulled in to allow wardrobe doors be closed.
This is pretty good - however, I have one major issue with it. I don't know if it's just TH-cam's compression, but the quality seems to take a dip, _especially_ in dark spots (of which there are many).
What you're describing is almost certainly the TH-cam compression, the original files are all rendered at an identical resolution. But unfortunately, there's not a whole lot that can be done to fix it, especially after the video is already uploaded. TH-cam compresses its videos whether the uploader asks it to or not.
okay, the one complaint is that at 4:38, the door opens the wrong way, idk if it was meant to be forced that way or if it was just used to make him fall in the right direction. either way great animation, and superb sound design!
The door's hinges switch when the picture momentarily cuts out. You can see how they become visible at 4:53 when before they were on the other side of the door. It's a deliberate bit of dream logic: a nightmare that doesn't want to let you win, and if you seem to be doing well, it cheats to stack the odds against you.
I SUGGEST THAT YOU WATCH THIS IN COMPLETE DARKNESS WITH OVER THE EAR GAMER HEADSET. This is my absolute fav. I love Nightmare Chica . Happy Halloween Dude.

I think Foxy slowly coming out of the closet at the end was the most anxiety-inducing bit for me
The moment when the freddles are gathering but the second you try to shine your flashlight on them, your focus on the door lessens and the door opens slightly is horrifying and gave me panic I never experienced before.
HOW!?HOW YOU CAN MAKE SUCH A ANIMATION SO CANON AND REALISTIC
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
0:27 nobody saw how the shadow had a open jaw when this is just a plushie?
This is one of my favorite fnaf4 fan films!
Also whenever the Freddy's babies disappeared into the plushie was kind of funny.
God, this is absolutely amazing! I love how the sounds and animation just captures what could be actually happening in a realistic scenario. Great job!!
this does feel like a bad dream.
huh.
hm.
i've had a few bad dreams.
they felt like this.
This is highly underrated
this is a masterpiece, dude!
Love the music, animation and the atmosphere.
Animatronics animation is the best I've ever seen!
YO. I’m speechless. This is exactly the kind of Fnaf content I’ve been wanting, how am i only just seeing this! Absolutely phenomenal work here 😩👏🏽
How the hell did you make me feel actual fear, worry, and suspense just like (if not better) than the actual game? That's amazing!
This is amazing, the way the stress builds on itself is pure dread
This is insanely goood and in bone chilling way the whole this seems like how crying child felt I absolutely love your animation and your style of music it’s all so amazing
I feel so bad for Crying child now.
Honestly Animations like this make me really want a FNAF 4 movie
This is what I hope for from the five nights at Freddy’s movie. I’ve been scared worse, but this is slow, well thought out horror that tells you “Something is wrong, but you knew that from the start.”
This is some quality content you love to see😎
that transition to behind the bed being an entirely new corridor DEFINITELY felt dream like.
Like our living room will be a pool but for some reason it's perfectly normal in the dream. I get it now ^-^ it's a very rarely used technique in this topic so I applaud you for that! I'm autistic so I don't tend to pick up on subtleties unless it's in like drawn art/3D art. Thank you for explaining it to me! The whole thing feels completely different after that! Now I'll watch a few more times to see if I catch anything else ^-^ I hope you're having a lovely day! 🫂🫂🫂💗🤍💗☺️☺️☺️
I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. You’ve done an amazing job on this.
That's so good, I found you by pure luck when I searched for info about lefty and instead found your animation with lefty and the puppet. I can't believe you're not more popular.
URGH, this was BEAUTIFUL. One of those rare ones, I tell you! Had me crouching under my bedsheets, cuz I was so ready for a jumpscare xD. I'm in LOVE with the ambience, the slow progression towards fending off the beasts, how you KNOW something is going to happen but... nothing ever does. It builds fear! And that never releases, not even a slight jump! Pure love for this, keep it up, you're such an incredible person! 💜❤🤎💛
This’s a Sick And Cool Explanation And Animation For Fnaf 4 I Like This ^w^
Brother, I think you mastered FNaF Horror on TH-cam.
Say what you will about the VHS series of videos- (thats over done now a-days imo), but this. No jumpscares, no tricks, just pure dread.
This perfectly sms up FNaF 4! Great work!
Wow there was no jumpscares and this was still scary as hell nice work dude
Another amazing piece of work Mr. Nick!
Thank you very much, I'm particularly proud of this one. :D
The door opening the wrong way is the most terrifying thing
Idk why but i remember a mecanich where you could go under the bed in fnaf 4
You’re probably thinking of fan content, there were a lot of edits around FNaF4 around its time of release. I remember one particularly well-made one which showed the player leaving the bedroom down the hall to check up on the plushtrap hallway mid-game.
There’s also the fangame Five Nights at Candy’s 3, which is quite FNaF4-ish and features you looking underneath the bed to check for monsters.
Idk why but the freddles leaving sound was funny
Love the straight abyss behind the bed.
Absolutely TERRIFYING! Nice- no- EXCELLENT work!
At the end i was really thinking there was gonna be a jump scare but it was already way scary without one
You can _feel_ the CC's pure fear and dread here...
Amazingly well-done! ♥️
Shat my pants. Great job.
Omg I loved it but was immediately pissed at the sound of the alarm, guess it really proves I'd rather be ripped to shreds than be waken up by that alarm again
Jesus christ that was probably the scariest fanmade fnaf video I’ve ever seen
This in animation gem.
I doubt I could mention anything or put it any better than some commenters have already done, but the feel is spot on here.
But I gotta say that the moment with Chica coming out of the darkness(if you can even see it thanks to YT) was really a breathtaker(haha funny, she breaths and you soon might not be).
Great work!
Sound design for Chica was fucking phenominal
This is awesome! I'm surprised it doesn't have all that many views!
finally a top video already goosebumps
Moment starting in 02:26 to 02:45 really speaks nerve breaking dread.
Why wardrobe doors won't close, turning lights on to see what is it till seeing hook slowly lowering down till hook gets pulled in to allow wardrobe doors be closed.
I just found your channel from you Easter bunny video and that is definitely earning a sub this animation is sick!
Wow that's actually alot scarier than most fnaf videos I ve seen
Wow! This is super cool man!
This left me speechless, and i need new pants
These are ridiculously well made, I love it 🤌
This is pretty good - however, I have one major issue with it.
If I were to dream this kind of stuff, I'd chug coffee and 5 hour energy for the rest of my life.
That was super awesome!
would have been cool if when the door opened in reallity it was just his mom since it was just his fantasy
this is so well done! I love this great job!!!
Very good animation I especially liked how the mini fredics wash off
Good job 👏
okay, the one complaint is that at 4:38, the door opens the wrong way, idk if it was meant to be forced that way or if it was just used to make him fall in the right direction. either way great animation, and superb sound design!
