The Newpaper is photoshopped. The shot of all of them is from Hellys welcome party overlayed on a car. Lumen is playing some kind of game here both on the floor and outside. So Hyped!
it also looks to be titled something like "Kier Chronicles" could be made for lumon severed employees throughout the whole company, maybe some of them are used to these papers?
My bet is that Helly R. will return as an outie. Taking advantage of the friendships she’s made to persuade innies. Once she smiles realizing the kiss between Mark S. and herself, I believe she will infiltrate and use it to her advantage while faking being her innie.
Couldn't agree more! Going back to the severed floor as an Outie pretending to be an Innie would be the perfect way to infiltrate the cause of any internal rebellion against Lumen. Considering there are cameras and microphones all over the place, there are few moments between her and the MDR team that Outie Helly would not be able to review to build her cover. If this is the case, I suspect they will hide that plot line throughout the season and use it as one of the larger reveals after we see "Innie" Helly become privy to everyone's plans. Springing a trap to quash rebellion at the right moment could redeem her in the eyes of the Eagen family after Innie Helly's speech.
@Mr_Vertigo Interesting thought about her ability to review footage, an advantage the others lack. Imagine Helena on the severed floor, cozying up to undercover outtie Mark, who has NOT seen the footage and doesn't know they kissed, and is just there to save his not-dead wife. Intriguing possibilities for both drama and comedy.

When Milchik says “now” into the walkie talkie, I think it’s for someone at Lumon headquarters to flip the outies into innies. I’ve long thought that this could be the connection to the mysterious car crashes (Gemma and the woman from the Lexington Letter): you follow the outie while they’re driving, you wait until they’re turning a sharp curve or something else that’s dangerous, and then you flip them to innie mode so that they’ll almost certainly crash. In this scene though, it looks like they could have coerced the outies to look for something in a snowy forest, and then Milchik gives the green light to flip them to innies, so now their innies will be lost and confused out in the wilderness. Innie Mark called Gemma his outie's wife. He, apparently, has no particular feeling for her. He wants to get her out because it seems the right thing to do. But it's Helly that he has romantic feelings for. This is interesting in light of the discussions I've seen of the extent to which the innies and outies are separate people. Dylan feels a connection to his children that seems deep and profound, as soon as he knows they exist. It's not *for them*, but the idea of them. Mark S doesn't seem to have quite the same sentiment about Gemma/Ms. Casey. It's more a sense that she and his outie have been done wrong by Lumon somehow.
I agree, I think Innie Mark is pursuing Gemma purely out of moral obligation and sympathy for his Outie, not out of feelings of personal love for Gemma/Ms. Casey. I suspect that Helena will return to the severed floor as an Outie pretending to be an Innie, and she will use Mark's feelings for her to manipulate him out of his pursuit to find Gemma or to gain insight into any rebellious plans of MDR or new characters we meet that share their discontent.

6:15 I think Mark reintegrated and he's mixing real life (the outie sweater) and old memories (the break room corridor) just like Pete did in the shower scene
I think the innies make it out without activating the severance chip, or their outies make it inside the severed floor without activating the chip. Also, I'm pretty sure the shot of Helly crawling through the hallway is actually the same hallway we saw with the grass and hay on the floor, and it's a tunnel for the goats (the door at the end takes up the whole wall and is square unlike the normal doors). I think Helly and Mark discover it, crawl through, and find the goats and other folks in that grassy room. This could also be how they get in/out without activating the chip. Once they're out, or get in and back out, I think that's the shot of Mark running through the parking lot. Then Milchick gears up for the cold to go hunt down Mark and whoever he's meeting with way out there in the middle of nowhere.
Also, I think they successfully reintegrated Helly with Helena so she can infiltrate their plans to learn how to lock down the innies better. Kinda like undercover boss. And they use MDR to refine Helly's chip data so Helena can have all her memories without Helly being able to fight her.
definitely more of those kinda vibes and tones in this trailer. I hope they dont lean into too much of that world hyped as heck though!!@@fearlessjones
I'm pretty sure that the world got the message about the inne discontent. That's why it's important that the fake paper is a way of keeping them in line under the innie reform plot. The snow scene looks like a field trip of some kind that again is trying to keep them complacent.
My thought on Milchik in the wilderness is that maybe the innies have been set up to think they're on a mission or looking for something outside, but it's really a setup and he is controlling the situation.
"These Values Nine: How I Let Keir In" is the title of one of the books credited to Ricken. It sounds SO religious. Letting Keir in like letting god in. The whole article seems a creation of Lumon, designed to convince the innies that their actions have made them heroes on the outside (I would be interested to know how the event really played in the outie world), and their of the works of Ricken Hale is now known by Lumon. The photoshopped picture of them in a parade is quite hilarious. Making the innies think he wrote a book in praise of Keir is propaganda for the innies.
This. I think it's pretty apparent that the newspaper is fake. If you read it all it is a lot of goobely-goob that sounds like how they talk to the innies, and not how they speak in the outie world. The image of them in the car ofc looks totally fake and also the mention of Ricken haven made a book that praised Kier, doesn't sound truthful at all. Also one of the other articles speaks of how Lumon has revolutionized plastic recycling. It all reeks of propaganda...
Yeah, definitely ALL fake! They could easily have a mock newspaper created for the eventuality that the MDR crew returned. The redacted parts make it seem more believable. Even the article that referenced Ricken is part of the ruse. It makes it sound like innie Mark’s hero, Ricken is a Kier fanboy!😂and I could def see how that could hold some sway over Mark’s opinions!
I think the quote was "...IN this planet.", which is kinda bazare. Also the newspaper parade photo is totally doctored. Note the old cars. Great work sir!
The actor that has the goat head/and seen talking in a booth is Olafur Olafsson most recently on “Somebody Somewhere.” He’s been on some other shows as well. He’s a really big guy.
2 weeks! And when mark stops at the end of the hallway I think where helly tried to quit through the stairwell, I think there is no more door for people to quit from
Oh noooo... Looked closer at the goat-topper ghoul, and I think it's a sword in his hand (originally thought he was the herder), so he may be the official KidReaper® 😮🐐😢
the scene of them on the mountain side reminds me of the weird pixelated kier video from when helly completes the macrodata file- kier also says in that animation "in your darkest moments i could see you arriving here" maybe related???
I’m so convinced from outie helly saying we, instead of I, indicates that the board is all the former CEOs. A.k.a. the Eagan family. It would explain why they’re so secretive and offscreen using a liaison to speak to people. How they would all still be alive, or if that trope would even fit in to the story and it’s uncovered secrets I’m not sure. EDIT: just watch another one of your videos, and I think I got part of this right, just not the CEOs physically being a part of the board.
14:17 In this image of Helly you can see ahead of her what looks like an exit to some kind of backyard out of Lumon, with the snow on the floor and maybe a forest of pines, almost the same kind of landscape we watched earlier on 7:47 with all the MDR gang outside, like in a forest.
Calling it now - Helena is going to go back to the severed floor, but as an Outie pretending to be an Innie. Seeing footage of Innie Mark's affection for her, she will use that to knowingly manipulate his actions on the severed floor to either discourage his search for Gemma, be fully in the loop on any new plans for rebellion from the MDR team, or potentially drive a wedge between Innie Mark and an Outie Gemma which they can then use to keep her severed. Thoughts?
9:10 Pretty unlikely the people in the department will have any idea why they’re doing what they do or what it is for. Similar to the 2 departments we’ve met so far. Love the breakdowns and very excited for the S2 drop and coverage!!
I used to think MDR's work was busywork, but now I wonder if their severance chips have the consciousness of past CEOs (who probably comprise the Board), and the refinement is sorting out digital consciousness. The object is to literally resurrect and immortalize the full consciences of the past CEOs, which is why the museum is called the Perpetuity Wing.
Quick theory… in a previous goat theory video, it was mentioned that the goats were possibly involved in cloning. What if that young new MDR worker is Miss Casey cloned??
I’m fairly sure the scene with two Dylans is Dylan talking to his Outie. The only solution for someone like Dylan who found out he has a son. So somehow they do something to his chip to allow him to see and communicate with his outie.
Nice video. I think the quote about "one of the most important moments on this planet" has to do with the weird numbers work the four do -- there's also a shot with the numbers on a screen. In S1 I thought the numbers are absolute BS and they are just randomly handling them while they are persuaded that they're doing something meaningful. But it might actually turn out to be something of importance. Or it might turn to be wild parody of inflated egos of Lumen's board.
Look at the newspaper at timestamp 5:06. Published since 1893. Issue number 51,903. Assume the newspaper is daily. 51,903 days is about 142 years. 1893 + 142 = 2035. So the year this is all happening in is 2035...
I wonder if he's staring into the light to imprint it into his vision so innie Mark can see it when he closes his eyes 😳
That's a great theory! 💯💯💯
Oh my gosh! This is so smart!
That’s definitely what it is, I think you hit the nail on the head

Even the article that referenced Ricken is part of the ruse. It makes it sound like innie Mark’s hero, Ricken is a Kier fanboy!😂and I could def see how that could hold some sway over Mark’s opinions!
@@yousawnothin yes but his involvement was 100% vital to the plan
Been waiting for this to drop since an hour after the trailer came out.
Great coverage best breakdown I’ve seen! Good opinions on things
I think the quote was "...IN this planet.", which is kinda bazare. Also the newspaper parade photo is totally doctored. Note the old cars. Great work sir!
It was "of this planet" but, yes, that newspaper was very doctored!
The actor that has the goat head/and seen talking in a booth is Olafur Olafsson most recently on “Somebody Somewhere.” He’s been on some other shows as well. He’s a really big guy.
I think the two blue lines at the end that are separated and then become one is related to Mark being reintegrated.
Hope I see it!
If not, glad you're around
2 weeks! And when mark stops at the end of the hallway I think where helly tried to quit through the stairwell, I think there is no more door for people to quit from
i was looking forward to your upload!
Fun fact: Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love plays Barry Egan. Could be fun connecting the two stories.
been waiting for this
Young girl… this is an out there theory with nothing to base it on but feeling… is she the daughter of Mark and Gemma?
nice
Exciting! Nice breakdown!
Love this by Ja… with AUTHORITY 🏀💪🏾!
I think Irv is painting those pictures!
I’ve been waiting on your review 🥰
Oh noooo... Looked closer at the goat-topper ghoul, and I think it's a sword in his hand (originally thought he was the herder), so he may be the official KidReaper® 😮🐐😢
I think the young girl is a growing clone version of Gemma. I don't have anything to back this up but the idea is pretty freaky.
Hello old friend we meet again... u are by far the best severance breakdown/ theory channel
the scene of them on the mountain side reminds me of the weird pixelated kier video from when helly completes the macrodata file- kier also says in that animation "in your darkest moments i could see you arriving here" maybe related???
I am so exited for severance s2! especially right after silo s2 wraps up!! already looking forward to 2025!!
This is why i subscribed all those years ago.
Can’t wait. Live watch party 🧐
Will definitely pay for a month of Apple TV just to watch the entire season 2 when it's on.
Helly R will not go in severed, she will play them all.
14:17 In this image of Helly you can see ahead of her what looks like an exit to some kind of backyard out of Lumon, with the snow on the floor and maybe a forest of pines, almost the same kind of landscape we watched earlier on 7:47 with all the MDR gang outside, like in a forest.
I noticed that, but thought the figure in silhouette was Ms Casey?
@@TessAvelland_1 the figures hair is longer than ms casey’s, it doesn’t stop at the mid neck
Omg Helly is reverse severed 😮- she’s only really really Helly on the inside
14:01 I’m guessing he’s wearing the hide of the mother of the young goats
8:00 Weird hair guy, is he the same cat who was bottle-feeding the baby goats in Season 1?
Possible!
Did we ever find out who was in the car in the parking lot at the diner after Pete gave Mark the card? I wonder if that was Irv's outie spying.
I’m fairly sure the scene with two Dylans is Dylan talking to his Outie. The only solution for someone like Dylan who found out he has a son. So somehow they do something to his chip to allow him to see and communicate with his outie.
Resembles him for sure but it's definitely not him. Zoom in and you'll clock it
That is Helena the OUTTIE in these shots on the MDR floor!! It’s so obvious, you can tell she’s out of place
Interesting to note kier is wearing a blue union civil war outfit in the painting hanging in the lobby
Why is it always Winter? Haven’t months gone by?
