This was shot in LA in the Los Angeles River basin at the Sepulveda dam.
The music was recorded by the UCLA marching band and concert band and their Blue Devils drum corps. The backup dancers are a well-known dance troupe called The Lab.
I love how you’ve been going deeper and deeper into their catalog. I’ve heard them say this was the toughest choreography they’ve had. But it is totally 🔥!!

The choreography in “On” is brilliant! Back at the begging, the first person you see is a single female - this is the dance/choreographic genius Sienna Laulau, who was 19 when she choreographed this for BTS.

Several songs from the Map Of The Soul albums had 2 official videos released. This Kinetic Manifesto Come Prime version was actually the first of the 2 released for ON. Paraphrasing the definition/translation it means "a declaration of core belief by movement, as it was from the beginning". The Map Of The Soul series was taking a deep look backwards, from their beginnings through to their current work (2019/early 2020), inspired by/seen through the prism of Carl Jung's theories of psychological development, as explored in the book Map Of The Soul. So this Kinetic Manifesto version is actually very meaningful both in where they see their/group's core selves from the beginning and in where they see themselves/group MOVING forward into the future. They are who they've always been and will continue to be.
Map Of The Soul:7 was introduced to the world with the release of the Black Swan: Art Film official MV, which is frequently lost in a newcomer's BTS discovery journey due to the confusion with the double official MV releases. It was part of a project BTS funded called CONNECT: BTS. This project had a variety of artists from different modalities use the music from the album to inspire their works in light/color/sound, sculpture, dance, etc. and these were exhibited individually in cities around the world (just as lockdowns started globally). The Black Swan art film showcases a Slovenian dance crew performing their interpretation, using an orchestral version of the song (with BTS singing, though not shown). The lead dancer is 16.) I highly recommend you react to that, in addition to the other Black Swan MV. (Sorry for the essay. I tend to get carried away with Map Of The Soul as it was so overshadowed/robbed by the pandemic)

Save Me is a One-Shot video. In later years you can see how powerful the muscle memory for this song is within them, as they simply can't sit still through a performance of it😂
