      Thanks 🙏 it was interesting that the Fishermen got moved in 1972 to a New Spot 16km away and now the Fisherman’s village is a Popular Tourist spot

    When you see a restaurant having a menu in English , it will immediately mean that it will be more expensive. You forgot to try the amazing fish sandwich that you passed, and to check out the 3D Planetarium by the port. Burgas has a good mayor and this is why it looks good. The only problem are the lower salaries, being a city depending on tourism.

    • @Slanche1974
      @Slanche1974 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Why if a menu is in English it means food is more expensive 🤔 So your saying just go in a traditional Bulgarian restaurant with on menus in Cyrillic

      I ate the Fish Sandwich 2 Days in a row and it was just Delicious. Thanks for the Info about the Mayor because the City looks charming

    Good vid few things are wrong pricing for example 40 lev isnt 20 pound its 17.53 i use my card for all payments no cash my bank gives me the best rate when i use it if you exchange your english pounds for lev you will get a worse rate i genrally only use card also taxis are extremely cheap but i live in burgas so guess ive been here long enough to not get ripped off enjoy your trip burgas is a true gem my favorite place in bulgaria for sure 😎

    • @travelwithcol4625
      @travelwithcol4625  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The rate changes every day and every month so you can’t say that 40 Lev is not close to £20. An Easy way to work out your Money as a Tourist is £ is 50% of the Leva because when you change your Money you get charged commission for example when I arrived on 12th May Crown exchange was 2.16 to £1. Taxis in Burgas, Sunny B etc always Overcharge tourists and this is a Known Fact, if you speak Bulgarian you do not get the Special High Tourist Rate Eg. Yesterday upon arrival in Burgas the taxi driver asked me for 20 Leva for a 3-4 minute journey to my hotel, the man who owns the Hotel told me that Taxis always Overcharge Foreingers in Burgas and many tourists I spoke to got charged high prices for Taxis. Taxis in Sofia are so cheap and cost only a few £ to go anywhere but not in the Black Sea Resorts such as Sunny B Nessebar and Golden Sands . Thank you for your opinion and maybe check out my other Tours from Burgas, Varna, S Vlas, Nessebar, Sunny B etc on my Channel @ youtube.com/@travelwithcol4625

      @@travelwithcol4625 about the taxis - not exactly true. You can get ripped off in Sofia as well, especially around the airport, train/bus station. In the main cities there are taxis companies that are cheaper, they have a license to do that job and pay taxes as well. But there are others "scam" taxis that are the expensive ones, they will rip off anyone who step foot in their car, even locals, but locals knows them and avoids them. You can just google Burgas taxi and will see first 2-3 results of taxis companies in reasonable prices and their phone numbers. And always look for the price list on the side of the door. If there isn`t any or the prices are too high - skip it.

      @@travelwithcol4625It's the mentality, Bulgaria is not a big service culture like Turkey. They don't smile at strangers etc. I was asking for an iced coffee at a beach and the girls was like: but it cost equivalent of 3€ and it looks like this?! -almost trying to convince me not to buy it haha, was sweet. Similar thing happened when I was asking for renting a car from a hotel, the stuff was almost sorry when telling me the price that was actually ok.

      I met some friendly Bulgarians in Sunny B and Golden Sands but in Burgas the service was not so good and the people I met who served me were quite cold and unfriendly. Some men had a go at me for filming. Thanks for your information! Can you recommend any other nice cities to visit by bus ?

      @@travelwithcol4625 I have been to Bulgaria only twice, but heard some locals leave Sunny Beach to foreigners and go south to Lozenets and even more south towards Turkish border where there should be the nicest natural beaches that are not promoted to foreigners.

    I thought 15 lev was £6.50

    • @travelwithcol4625
      @travelwithcol4625  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      On a very Good day then you get get 6.52 to 6.6 but in all honestly the majority of Tourists use a currency Exchange to change their money so they get 2.16 or 2.18 to the £ and some Exchanges charge Commission. Check your Money Very Carefully when you Change money here because some people said they changed money and they did not get the correct amount.. and not in their favour. Tip: Change your money in the Bank and get the Best Rate ;)

    • @JB-zz5jt
      @JB-zz5jt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @travelwithcol4625 yeah I always go to the banks on flower street as the exchange booths and cash machines are a rip off. But the exchange rate here at the moment is £6.52 I think. I usually put money on a we swap card then take it out in levs. I'm just shocked at how expensive Bulgaria has gone since covid everything has more than doubled in price! It used to be £2 a cocktail and could get a good meal for £3 and hotels were £8 to £15 a night and clothes were so cheap. I went about 6 times over 12 years then didn't go for 4 years and went last year and everything so expensive it's now same price as Spain, it used to be cheapest country in Europe. I stayed at the Briz last June and loved it but staying at the Slavyanski this year as got a very cheap package deal. Not been Borgas for years, it looks so different now , definitely going there this time.
