So true about bringing M&L back on the switch!! If they aren’t willing to make Paper Mario an RPG anymore, i don’t see why you wouldn’t bring this series back. It would be perfect for a switch revival... anyway, great remix! This is a classic track! :)
You absolute madman. I listened to this on the way to work this morning, while sitting in the car when I got to work, and now I'm listening again during my lunch break. Needless to say, this is absurdly good. And this is one of those situations where I have so many things to say, I don't even know where to start! 😅 Okay, that intro: Holy moly, do you get things off to a bang with the growing tension in those rising chiptune arpeggios, those haunting, epic choral pads, and that powerful descending bassline. And then with that perfectly timed Bowser laugh, and the iconic "SHOWWWTIME!!!"... man, just, too good. Seriously, that Bowser sound clip is synced perfectly with the music, and I love that you're integrating SFX into some of your remixes lately - and in such a thoughtful and selective manner. And then when that beat hits right at 0:06, right after the "showtime!", it just kicks things right into gear. I love the fast-paced, D&B-styled beat you have going on throughout the remix, and the way you have it drop out in selected sections really creates noticeable shifts in the energy, and lets some of the supporting instruments come through, like at 1:18. The constant mix-ups always keep things sounding fresh and interesting throughout. I'm also a big fan of those fills at the end of phrases for some added flair. 🔥 Really loving those orchestral hits throughout, and I last recall hearing those in your "Never Let Up!" remix, so your using them again in another Mario & Luigi remix feels intentional, and your love for the series shows through with the inclusion of a sound that's become really iconic for the series. Man, there is so much going on musically here, and I love the blend of chiptune instruments, with the aforementioned choral pads and bass, and that PIANO! The piano just puts in tremendous work here, and I love that it does all kinds of things, from providing the main melody, to supporting chords, and arpeggiated harmonies... and the transitions between the piano roles are so seamless, that it sounds so natural. Seriously, I am just blown away by the level of detail in your supporting parts here, and I love that there are sections in the piece where the melody holds back a bit to let the other parts feature for a bit. Also, it definitely sounds like there are quite a few original parts that you wrote within the arrangement here (e.g., that piano part in the section starting at 2:18). And speaking of arrangements, I love your arranged ending here, repeating that final phrase with several variations, adding in those orchestral hits, the evil Bowser laugh, and that dope white noise rhythm at 2:52 (also first heard at 1:27, I believe). So dang good! My favorite detail of all, though, has to be that pointed pair of accented notes at 1:39, where everything drops out except the chiptune leads for those two notes, with a bit of residual percussion/white noise beneath. I love how it just grabs your attention and brings everything to a halt for a split second before bringing everything back, full force. In my mind, I'm picturing a moment where, during an attack animation, it freezes for a moment, where you'd press a button for a timed attack before making a big impact. It's such a satisfying part to listen to! Okay, I don't want to burden you with a wall of text here, but I just cannot reiterate enough how much I adore this remix. I mean no offense when I say that this my favorite remix of yours by a considerable margin, and I can't imagine how much work went into this one, as with all of your other remixes. This _better_ get recommended to lots of people, or Dark Bowser will have something to say about it. 😼 Fantastic work, Bland!!
Hey EQ! I'm really glad to hear that you liked it!! Overall this was a fun remix to make, and I'm glad I personally have come to like the song in general. The intro I think is where I had the most trouble when it came to remixing this track. Choosing the right synth was difficult, and I really wanted to replicate the epic feel of the original's intro. However, I really like how it turned out. Though this is a Mario and Luigi game, this installment to me is really about Bowser, and I wanted to show it through his iconic laugh and his even more iconic "Showtime!", so to me I just had to include those voice lines. I really appreciate the compliments about my SFX integration, it puts my mind to ease to hear that they are working out haha. The orchestral hits are something I've noticed when listening to all of these Mario and Luigi songs. I wanted to keep that trend going when making these remixes, and to be honest, they just sound good in my opinion. I'm really glad the piano turned out really well, it was a lot of fun to arrange! The piano as an instrument is one of my favorites. I just think it sounds so good. I really, really enjoyed arranging the supporting piano melody starting at 2:18. When making it, I just kinda went with the flow and what came out sounded really good in my opinion. That and I also was trying to put a little of myself into that section. I appreciate the kind words about the ending segment, for me it just felt like a good place to end the song. I was admittedly struggling on where to put the last Bowser laugh, but I think it works out where it is haha. About that white noise rhythm, originally I didn't have that in the song, but as I was finishing it up, I just had the idea to put something there in those segments like 1:27 and 2:52. And so, you can hear how it turned out! My favorite section to make was 1:34. I knew from the beginning that I wanted to make this song sound more epic than it already does. I totally get where you're coming from when you talk about the timed attacks, that's the sort of feel I was going for, like a buildup before the climax. I really love listening to that section in specific too, it just makes it seem epic to me. Thank you again for taking the time to write out such kind words and good wishes, I really appreciate it!!! Also, one more thing, completely random. If you ever plan on livestreaming, please let me know!! I wouldn't want to miss it :). Have a great one!
How am I _just_ stumbling upon this now?! This is AMAZING!! 🔥
Thank you so much for the kind words! :D
this may be the best remix of this song I have found thus far, very nice work
Awesome remix! One of my favorites ✨️🙌

I would try to give him a compliment, but it appears you have taken them all already. lol
@@meILM Hahaha! This legit made me LOL. I think I have a bit of a problem when it comes to commenting on remixes... 😅
