Bland, awesome work! I must say, a lo-fi remix from you came is a complete surprise to me, but this is really well done. It sounds supremely relaxing and chilled out, while still maintaining your characteristic energy and drive. (and that signature marimba!) I love how the beginning starts out with just the lower frequencies, and builds up to include the higher ones. Great technique there, and it makes for a very mellow introduction. And dude, I just _love_ that instrument you're using that kinda sounds like a muted jazz guitar! The way you use it... it is so genuinely interesting and unique. It kind of, I don't know... drifts in and out between the foreground and background so smoothly and seamlessly (I was struggling to come up with a verb that properly conveyed the feeling I got from listening, but "drift" is the closest thing I've got 😅). You must have put a ton of work into that part alone, to make it sound so dynamic and ever-changing. But that's not to say that the other instruments here aren't any less spectacular... The marimba here is used thoughtfully and selectively, and the chords are nicely balanced to enhance the sense of depth and spaciousness. And that minimal beat you created here, using that hip hop-style snare, creates a nice, gentle groove. If someone played this remix for me out of context and asked me who produced it, I probably wouldn't have guessed Bland White Cube, to be completely honest. But I think it really says so much about your ability to create music in a variety of styles, that you can create something so drastically different and have it be of comparable quality to your usual style. It's really admirable! :D My experience with the franchise is basically limited to Sonic Adventure Battle for GameCube, but this game always did intrigue me. Props for selecting a song from a lesser-known game, and again, for venturing - and excelling - in new territory! 🌟
Hey EQ! Glad to hear you enjoyed it! I also really love the bass that I used too. It was also surprisingly easy to make! All that it was was the BooBass with a low pass EQ on it, as well as the 3X OSC for a sub bass! I totally get what you mean by it "drifting" in and out, I definitely wanted it to be a background sort of thing that worked in tandem with the chords, and I think it works really well for this type of song. If I make more lofi in the future, I think this will be my bass of choice to be honest. You know, I don't know why, but that marimba keeps making its way into all of my recent songs lol. I don't mind it though, I like how it sounds, and it works well with a bunch of different song types. For this song, in the original there was a faster paced marimba, so this is the idea I had when I was slowing down all of the instruments. I really appreciate the feedback on the beats! As you can tell, I definitely use these same instruments for like all of my songs, given there's SOME variety, but I'm glad that they don't come across as stale or "same-y" to listen to. Granted, I'm not used to making these different types of music, so I totally understand and agree that this isn't something I normally would produce. However, I wasn't planning on saying anything until it released, but I actually made this song for a Lofi playlist collaboration! I submitted it back in March, but I'm not entirely sure if it's going to be used since they haven't contacted me about it. I'll update the description of my video when it releases. Even if my remix doesn't get used, I would still recommend checking it out because there's some really, really good stuff that I've seen submitted. My experience with this game growing up was actually the Demake version of Sonic Unleashed. I actually haven't played the definitive version of Unleashed, but I'm praying it will come to PC eventually haha. I also grew up with Sonic Colors, as well as Sonic Generations, so I didn't get to play either of the Sonic Adventure games. However, I got them on Steam, and I actually used to speedrun SA2 around this time last year! It was a really fun time, and I enjoyed playing it. I really need to go back and finish the rest of the game and actually start SA1. Thank you again for the kind words, and for the detailed feedback! I'm glad venturing into new territory wasn't in vain, because that was the sole reason behind making this remix. I look forward to see what you have in store next month!
You're remix is so amazing ;w;! Unleashed is one of my favorite games with Dragon Road Day being my favorite stage. XD I was wondering if I could use it as background music for streams? credit included of course, If it's not ok I fully understand!
Hey! This is solid and a really good take on a classic Unleashed track! I would love to feature this and your other tracks on my Sonic live radio and mixtapes for my channel. Would this be ok? Full credit of course!
@@blandwhitecube Hi Bland! Melodies shared this track with me, and I really love it! I am working on a Sonic Lofi Mixtape with him (you can see our latest is the Sonic x Persona). Keep up the great work! I would love to feature your cover. What's the best way to contact you?
@@HotlineSehwani Hello! Thank you for the kind words! I definitely do not mind you featuring my cover at all! If you would like, you can contact me on discord at Tof-U#0944 or on Twitter dms, either is fine. Thanks!
Why is this so nostalgic even though I've never played this game
Idk but it’s fun you should play it
Why is this not on Spotify! Would be perfect in my relaxing playlist
