You should try a similar challenge but with only the left control stick allowed. There seem to be a few spots where just steering while moving will help you keep hitting boost panels or similar objects, although I don't know if any of that will actually beat out Kalimari Desert

I love how analytical these videos are, its just math and logic to answer questions like this or what cart combo is best for certain situations. It actually reminds me of early Game Theory. So I'm looking forward to when this channel claims that Elephant Daisy was the first supermutant in Fallout.

Sick video! I feel like it could have been cooler with more narrativisation, like if you made landing the trick on calamari desert more of a climax and gave the viewer the knowledge that it was in fact the longest at a similar time, that would have been more exciting
For the shyguy falls one, if you hit a booster panel towards the end, it could push you far enough to hit the glider ramp

Do the cars in Berlin Byway carry you any noteworthy distance? Genuine question.
I doubt it would change the results by much but I’m curious if a heavier combo would be able to get pushed for longer by a car since it would take longer to get slid off the side or if it could maybe get enough speed to make the jump on mount wario

Well technically, you could count the distance made with lakitu on Mount Wario since your kart is still moving and you didn't touch the controller (i don't think it changes the results tho)

Wouldn’t the glider at the end of Mount Wario give you more distance? The boost panels just before it might be close enough together to string them together. Also, half pipe ramps might be something else to consider.
I will never play this game but I will always listen to people talk about it.

During your explanation you said you would use a 3d model to find equivalent length places in the track. If you have a 3d model of the track you can just make measurements using whatever modeling program you use, no?

why is the video footage so smooth 😭 it's clearly a crisp 60 fps, is everyone else just recording on lower?
0:32 you say you can't just measure the distance but why not? if you have the 3d models then you can measure them using the coordinates right?
I think this video would be even better if you presented more of a story - maybe work up from shorter paths to longer ones, give the distance of each path as you go, and then discuss the laborious testing of the train path last, so we get to come with you on your journey to find the best track. just a suggestion, your content is already great!

Tip: if Im geeky enough to watch a video like this, I want to see each succesful attempt without cuts from start to finish. Sped up is acceptable but rn it feels like you glossed over the best part 😅
3:20 Actually having wheels on this would make you 'slide' backwards a bit, if you're not using breaks.
Try putting a ball on an object and then moving said object. The ball will appear to move backwards relative to the surface of the object it's on.
I know we're all thinking about the obvious, "What if you had another player try to push you to the end?"
Just imagine if you had Joycon drift throughout. That'll handle those corners.
