  • GPR Stabilizers Review www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/gp... A rotary steering damper for those looking to improve their handling without having to drill into the frame. GPR offers up the V1 steering damper for older sportbikes while providing the updated V4 for late model machines. If you are looking to add a steering damper to your bike and don’t want to have to make any major modifications, GPR will have something for you.

    I purchased the new GPR V5-S stabilizer for my 2013 ZX6R Ninja 636. I was so excited to install it and start using it. To my surprise it partially blocks access to the key hole, so If you install the stabilizer you can't turn on the motorcycle! I thought maybe GPR send the wrong kit or I did something wrong? I called them and they said that many guys have the issues and the only solution is to buy a new triple clamp for $160!! I'm disappointed. They shouldn't be selling this stabilizer for 636 if it doesn't fit! They wouldn't help me and I was on my own. I'm returning the stabilizer ASAP and getting a OHLINGS stabilizer instead. You can read the comment section on some older 2013 videos and people had problems back then and they still didn't fix it! Their customer support and company as a whole sucks!

    I didnt hear you talk about the high speed damping.
    The adjustment knob seemed to only vary the low speed damping.

    I ordered one a couple days ago for my 07 Suzuki Gsxr 600.
    Since this one goes in the stem hole, do I need to remove the stock one on the forks? Or can I leave it and use low dials on the Gpr?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You can see if the low dial settings work for you, but if you find they're too much, you can remove the stock stabilizer. -DrewZilla

    Hi, I am looking to buy my first bike and I found a 2007 kawasaki zx6r which has a V1 stabilizer. Is this ok? Everywhere on the internet I see that V4 is the GRP stabilizer for that year and model, not V1. Is it dangerous to ride with a stabilizer that is not made for this model?

  • @DominicanOps

    Quick question, and I guess it applies to the Ohlins as well, if you have a bike that comes with one stock, do you recommend getting the GPR/Ohlins? I am a street rider with MAYBE a track day coming up. My bike (07 CBR600RR) comes an electronic steering damper. Do you still recommend this? Thanks! RevZilla is the best!.

    • @RevZilla

      Unless you're racing and have found the limits of the stock damper, I would stick with your current setup. -DrewZilla

    • @RevZilla

      It makes the steering harder or easier. Depending on where you're riding, you can adjust it stiffer for high speed stability or looser for easier steering. -DrewZilla

    hi and thanks for the video .. does this Stabilizer fits the BMW S1000r (single R) 2017 as I already install Ohlins brand steering Damber that I

    now I think I need to add this one on top for more stiffens !! any recommendations? thanks again.

    Are these considered universal mounts? I have a Harley FXR. I'm wondering if that mounting plate is universal for bikes that require the V4 on their website. Thanks in advance for the help.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, these are definitely bike-specific. They are not universal mounts. The V4 for the FXR requires GPR's custom top clamp. At this time, that stabilizer kit is only available from GPR directly. -DrewZilla

    I'm curious, I'm about to purchase a 2016 Kawasaki Ninja 650R and upon doing some research, it was highly recommended to get this a steering stabilizer. I found this to be the most simple yet effective stabilizer on the market. However, I couldn't find one that was designed for the bike I'm about to buy. Are there any plans on making GPR making one or are there any products like it that are simple to install (dispute the long time)?
