2:35 It's wet because the water that evaporates from the leaves condensates on the zip-lock bag, forms little droplettes and pools at the bottom of the bag.
I have been doing a lot of plant chores this morning, listening to A Man Called Ove. Now I’m breaking and drinking peach tea with honey and cream. Yum.

I prop all my corms in perlite and everyone has sprouted! Just stick some in a dollar tree tall Tupperware and yeah so easy lol

Aw that poor splendid, thrips somehow always head for the favourites! So happy to hear another person who loves syngoniums! I'm hoping for an aurea and a frosted heart, too. And an erythrophylum but they're kinda pricey in the uk...I mix my syngonium, i have a pot of albo and mojito mixed which looks STUNNING. And also a neon robusta/ milk confetti mix which is super cute!
Frosted heart is just tricky to propogate. I bought 6 cuttings locally before I finally got 2 to root. It's soooooo pretty. I can't believe that it is not in more demand.

Teach me your ways, namely, how the heck you don't make a mess like I do!? I swear watering day is more messy for me than your repots! HOW!?
Also, if you go to McDonald's (yuck I know) and order a kids size orange juice, you get the perfect little cups for moving smaller rooted props! I normally get them in breakfast happy meals but they're not vegan, you get hot cakes, a hashbrown, a yogurt tube and a tiny drink, and a toy which gets my dog so freakin excited 🤣 if it's got no batteries he gets it! 😬
I stole my hubbys soldering iron,😅 we buy a particular yogurt and the containers from that are so good for smallish plants,i and the best part is the label comes off without any soaking in water! I collect a whole lot than turn on a planty video and sit outside and put all the drainage holes in! It’s so relaxing! ❤
I do the same with my yogurt cups😊

I was checking on all my props and baby plants right along with you. I’ll be repotting some things tomorrow for sure. That poor splendid. 😢 At least you were able to save some nodes.
Just to be safe... when you take the propagation out of the prop box you should leave the roots in water, they are really sensible to dry and can slow down the process of propagate the little cuttings if they have dry root tips
Love the video. Also would highly recommend the syngonium Rayii since it has super nice velvety leaves in person and honestly was a lot nicer of a syngonium when I saw it in person

Omg, I have quite a few propagations I was supposed to pot up this past summer. The other day, I just propagated some runners from my monstera standleyna albo. You inspired me to do a couple of things when I get off work this morning.
Avocado toast is just plain good. My Gen X hubs likes it, too, so it’s not just because I’m a Millennial. 😂 🥑 I’ve become a chronic chop & propper, and I like the casual vids so this is perfect. 💚🪴
This is inspiring me to try wet stick props. I’ve only ever done propagation in water but I have a Philodendron Glorious that I had to chop back and this would be perfect. So exciting 🌿✨

Hi Fern. Sad to lose a healthy plant like your Philodendron - Splendid to thrips. Smart move to chop back and prop for a new start! I'm finding pests on plants this year to be really bad. Possibly due to a hot, dry spring, those little beasties appear. My Silver Lady fern was infested by mealy bugs over winter and my Anthurium - Wave of Love is amassed with thrips ☹ Both have gone outside. Thanks for another fun and informative video. 💚💜💚

Totally off topic however I've notice you mention ASMR, do you listen/watch ASMR? I stumbled there once from TikTok and I've been there ever since. Ha! Love these unedited chatty long videos, perfect for listening to while doing plant chores.
Question: Have you ever used a heat mat? Would it be bad to put those Tupperware containers filled with moss and props on top of a heat mat?
Also, did you completely and thoroughly water all those newly potted plants. Or just a little water?

The water that’s as humidity that ran down the sides of the bag. Nothing to be worried about it.

Serious question! I don’t quite understand this method of propagation. Is the point of it literally to set and forget if you don’t have the patience to water like other propagations? I’ve found even in moss if I leave my props open to air and water, the roots grow double in under a month

I’m currently dealing with a thrip infested anthurium forgettii 😭 I’ve literally cut off all her leaves twice and can’t get rid of the thrips and I’m thinking about going the chop and prop route as well. #Thripssuck

Not usually! I don’t have many doubles.

How much water do you put into spagnum moss for propagating? Also I liked the idea of blowing into Ziplock bag, acts like a terrarium. I love your video on propagating. You have encouraged me to buy a Strig of Hearts, Philodendron and Hoya plants 🪴. I still have my 11 Orchids and a handful of Succulents.
