    • @tanja0411
      @tanja0411 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

      Agree. I don’t think she’s a well person at all. She is very smart and talented but needs much better counseling and maybe meds (if she has a therapist and/or doctor). She needs to stop acting like people’s reactions to her are a reflection on black people, black women, light-skinned black women, opinionated and strong women, people on the spectrum, etc. She represents herself (not well), - not anyone else or large groups of people. She’s unsufferable and needs to focus on her own healing.
      Also, Shannon didn’t say she was wrong. He said he had a different perspective - he validated her but also offered another perspective. She just can’t handle non-yes people. Feels almost like narcissism to me. Holds everyone else accountable for any little flaw and wants validation, grace, protection, etc. but doesn’t acknowledge her part in relationship DYNAMICS. A self-proclaimed “emotionally intelligent” person can take a step back and look at situations from all viewpoints.

      100%. I became continually more drained and low-vibe as I watched the interview but also couldn’t look away. It was triggering and fascinating somehow. It was a good reminder to me that even if you do have cause to be angry - and I have in my career and the hospital systems I’ve worked - her approach is never effective and it’s certainly not strategic. The only thing that ever seems to help is to focus on your own healing and keeping your eye on what you’re trying to achieve. And creating better relationships and gathering allies. Everything else is just distraction and only hurts yourself. It honestly was a good reminder for me. I hope someone can get through to her and she can get the help she clearly (to me) needs.

      @@414awill that’s your interpretation. He didn’t defend randoms - he literally had a different perspective on the situation. If she knew anything about him or cared to understand a different viewpoint she could have engaged with him and had a really interesting and productive discussion. But she’s unable to do that with anyone because of her anger and defensiveness. She always demands so much validation and perfect behavior from others and then throws a fit and attacks them when she doesn’t get it. Did she ever consider another black person might have a different experience and she could be interested in that? Just like the autism conversation. She didn’t get diagnosed “because, you know, racism.” Actually no. It’s under diagnosed for so many people because it’s difficult to diagnose if you’re on the lower end of the spectrum. And for women in particular because we present differently. Not everything is some big plot against her and I think Shannon was trying to figure out how to have that convo but didn’t feel safe enough asking her. So you think she’d be a good interview guest. She was putting on a show rather than having a two-sided conversation. When did she show she cares about him? Other guests come in and are excited/happy to talk to him. Respect shown is respect given and she doesn’t do that to people. Most of all she is unable to take a step back and see all parts in a relationship dynamic and meet the other person halfway. I’m sure she’s had difficult experiences and she’s been wronged. We ALL have but it’s up to us how we deal with all that and move forward. What she doing is not helpful to anyone, particularly to herself.
      It’s irritating to see people blame Shannon Sharpe. It’s valid to not like him but he didn’t treat her any differently. But - just like all her other “conflicts” her attitude makes progress hard. Unless you admire or agree with her of course. You don’t think that would make a 3 hour interview very very difficult? He took a step back too and told her he wasn’t going to interject anymore - that’s self-awareness. When has she given that grace to others? To me it’s sad. Just my opinion.

      Doesn’t really work that way tbh. Having someone else tell you what you are doesn’t change what you are. Just makes someone else accept it. Shannon was dismissive. Instead of listening to the experience he asserted himself without consideration for her LIVED moments, instead deciding to insert himself. The implications to her positionality as a women, Black women, expressive, etc. are reduced to a trope, diagnosis, stereotype instead of just listening. It’s a panel taking up space feeling entitled to insert themselves when there is no active listening and horrible critical thought.

Ppl in powerful places do not like having a smarter person than them in the room. This is Truth! Stop using these negative adjectives to describe her.
