    Changed out my old gold set this morning using your method of removal and install. Took me less than one minute to complete the front one. Did the rear one as well. It just takes time to remove all of the old adhesive, but aside from that it was simple and they look great! Thanks again!

    Great video! If anyone needs to know I own a 2015 Silverado and the bowtie in the front is inlet slightly. This method works but if you own a 2015 I suggest you pry from both top and bottom as to not break the clips. I pryed like this video and broke my clips so be carefully, but if you are like me and going to black It doesn't matter breaking the clips just make sure you get the broken pieces out of the hole before slotting the new one!

    Thanks for this. I was about to use the brute force method and rip the s.o.b. off and crazy glue the new one on.......no way was I going through the whole process of taking off the grille just for an emblem swap. Watching your video it took me literally 2 minutes. I’m a proud TH-cam University Graduate. 🎓

  • @Sonnycam24
    @Sonnycam24 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Ok. I was skeptical because I saw all the vids that said I had to take the grille off. But I just used your method with a couple old gift cards and it took me less than five minutes! I used one to get behind the emblem and then slid the second one in behind it for more rigidity. Thanks!

    Thanks for the video! I was swapping out the gold bowties on my 2018 Silverado, for the 100 year celebration bowties and wasn't looking forward to removing the grill.
    It was easy. I used a thin piece of poly-carbonate and popped it right off.

    Good thing I've got some tough thumbnails.

    For those of you who own a 2010 Colorado, it is a little different. If your hand is small enough, mine isn’t so I asked a friend, reach down through the opening by the hood latch and undo the two nuts holding the emblem in place.
    Put the new one in place, and you will have to apply some pressure to the nuts as the plastic pins on the new emblem are not threaded. You actually cut the threads when installing the nuts.

      Shakyra Hartzog the Cruze most likely has different clips. This only applies to Silverados and Tahoe’s suburban etc

    Well....... I didn’t fair so well ......
    Got it out but broke the dog shit 🐕💩 out of the tabs 😫😫
    My biggest mistake was probably doing it today (Feb. 21, 2021) in too cold of weather it’s barely 40 F here.
    Might have had better luck if I chose a warmer day or perhaps used a heat gun first. Mine is a 2014 with the plain ass black W//T grill & the emblem seemed quite brittle .......

    • @bradwilson5552
      @bradwilson5552 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taking it off :(
      Broke the stock amber one
      Replaced it with an aftermarket cheapie silver one cause the truck is silver
      Since it’s a black grill & black bumper the silver knock off embelm looks fairly cool ....... for now atleast

    Unfortunately you didn’t show that the factory/original bow tie emblem cannot be just ‘popped’ off, because there’s adhesive on the back. It took everything I could find to pry it loose.

    • @ScouserTech
      @ScouserTech  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Renee Hawkins the front bow tie does not have any adhesives, only the back one does. Front relies on clips only. Not really sure why yours had adhesive unless it was added to not have it pop off on a certain set produced.
