  • Hello everyone! In this first video of mine, I am going to teach you how to make any foam piece look like real metal in only 4 steps. This tutorial is perfect for cosplayers like myself, LARPers, DnD players that want to go the extra mile, any sort of Halloween costume you have planned, or even to make props.
    MATERIALS USED:
    - foam piece of your choosing
    - Mod Podge Clear Gloss
    - Performix Plasti-Dip
    - Spray Paint (I prefer Krylon or Rust-Oleum)
    - Spray Clear Acrylic Gloss (again, I prefer Krylon or Rust-Oleum)
Subscribe for more tips and future cosplay tutorials! :)

I must thank you for this tutorial, even though being very informative it is also very helpful for someone who is unexpirienced in this area, once again thank you and my apolagies for any words that have been wrongfully spelled.

Great tutorial! Hope you don’t mind me asking but are there any alternatives for the plastidip because it’s kind of hard to come by where I’m from thanks in advance

Tamiya primer is elastic too. I just test it. I hope will stay on after paint

Will the Mod Podge work on something coarse like floral foam? Or will I need some kind of plaster or joint compound layer first?

Question:. Do you run a heat gun over the surface to give it that gloss before applying mod podge?

    • @movieguru2010

If you use a heat gun first there's no need to use the modge podge as the heat gun seals the Eva foam. 😊

    Why is the plastidip necessary?

Is that silver Spray flexible? Or more Like, can it crack easily when bent for example

In my experience, the paint is pretty flexible - the gloss on the other hand will crack if you bend it! I learned that through experience. I would recommend getting your foam armor into the shape you want, or as close to it as you can, before you spray it with everything, but especially before you spray it with the gloss. :)

@@carlicosplays8217 Hello. Just to suggest Tamiya spray's are all flexible. Even the sealer.

hiii, i have a question, does the mod podge break after all the application or by use?

    • @FourJaysFour
      @FourJaysFour 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Mod podge alone is less durable than plastidip. Can show creasing with wear.

DO NOT DO MOD PODGE THEN PLASTI-DIP! JUST DO ONE OR THE OTHER. AND MOST RECOMMEND JUST PLASTI-DIP FOR MAXIMUM FLEXIBILITY!
I did this what the said in a build and am totally regretting it, and now have to wet sand the mod podge before plasti-dip
