Medion asked us to bring their brand mascot, the ERAZER GIRL, to life! This was the perfect opportunity to show you how to work with this amazing material! The final costume turned out super comfy, lightweight and the material itself is even pretty cheap! So, I really hope this inspires you to create EVA foam costumes as well!

The freaking... The.... she just... What a power move. Can't have the model, so BECOME THE MODEL. That's awesome!!!!
the cheek, the nerve, the audacity and the gumption
Hi u like my Rex?
Make your own design.
TH-cam sent me here. Had no idea how cosplay gear was made. I have to say I am impressed.
same ... youtube sent me here ~!
Foam work is fairly easy. Try doing this with metal or fiberglass/resin and that's when the real impressive stuff starts.
Every now and then, the Google algorithm actually gives us something useful.
There's a lot of cool cosplay assembly videos out there. Adam Savage's Tested puts up videos of his cosplay builds too, and they're often really cool. Check them out. :)
@@agentx250 you talk like it was easy...
She makes it look easy but it's not. She is truly an artist!
Yeah for real!
It's really NOT easy.
I'm reminded of that meme:
How to draw an owl:
Step 1 - draw circles (squiggles)
Step 2 - add details (finished masterwork)
Or like the epusode of spongebob of how to draw a perfect circle where he draws a super detailed face then erases the details to get a perfect circle
you make it look like its the easiest thing in the world, it's incredible.
That's how you know it's a real pain in the crotch!
it's always the case with experts, i once did a backflip after watching a guy, it wasn't that easy....
The shear amount of creativity needed to craft something like this is impressive. And the finished product looked incredible. Great work
I’m a cosplayer and this is still impressive
Sheer*
The polished, professional look of today's cosplay work is light-years ahead of what was done 20 years ago. It's honestly awe-inspiring seeing some of the finished costumes.
So simple, yet incredibly masterful.
When I was learning how to weld, my mentor asked if I had anything in particular I wanted to try to make. I suggested a robot helmet, and we got pretty far along before life came in the way of being able to see him again, with a working jaw and 3/4 covering. I mostly work in other artforms now, like animation and illustration, but I still want to revisit making that old design again, because I think working with sheet metal is pretty fun and could be a good way to express neat ideas I've had for a while.
"I had nothing better to do, so I worked out for two months and lost 2 clothing sizes." Man, I wish I had that problem. XD
where do you get a lazer fabric cutter like that? I assume your family makes suits...
I wish I had that result!
Try putting the fork down ..... not that hard really....
@@tylerdmore9372 It's incredibly difficult to put the fork down when you aren't holding a fork in that moment. You actually have to go through the process of first picking up a fork before you can put the fork down. Last I checked, hotdogs don't require forks. This is terrible advice.
@@XiueXelu danm you, why you little......... every time I go to write a Thesis someone pokes holes in it....
I've got no hope of getting anything on paper.... Laws dictate - dribbles don't count ... Literary circles eh
:) You youth are venomous ... but I get your drift, put the hot dog down,,,,,got it ! Thanks for the insight - I will mention you in my acceptance speech, no shit "we" are breaking ground here...
moving on....
I know I shouldn't but "you know" I'm going to steel that, would that be plagiarism under the utube 10000000000000000000 commandments of indoctrination .....? Just asking, I'm broke and can't afford representation...
Anywayyys "we" can by-pass that shit..... Now that you have RUINED any chance of me gaining wealth through my Thesis and studies, I guess I will have to resort to what I know best- advertising! Yup, you have or a fork/shovel to sell I'm YOUR MAN ...
Seriously when you think about it - It's T Shirt worthy, I'll take a 100 units with "put that fucking hot dog down" ... I'll take 200 units with "You fat fuck" on the back....
If anyone finds this offensive, remeber- it was Chewy's little finger that poked.... blame The Chewy not me, it was Chewy that ruined me ...
Words I'm pretty sure I heard Carrie Fisher yell out on a set one evening ......Anyyyywayyyyy, moving on
When can I expect delivery?
Yours sincerely, Darth's bastards cousin.....
Absolutely fantastic step by step video. For those trying to copy the carbon fiber look but down have a laser cuter to make those zigzags on tape, my alternative was to use fabric shears/scissors that have a zigzag edge so they will cut your patterns/tape the same for under $20.
Pinking shears is the proper term for the fabric ones if you’re searching for them, but also I remember having craft scissors with zig zag edges in elementary school... so those might be available still too haha
You can actually buy faux-carbon-fiber kits for use with spray paint or airbrushes. They're sold for detailing car parts and come with a mask material that creates a pretty decent pattern between the basecoat and topcoat. Check your local auto parts store.
They're called pinking shears. And I thought the same thing.
"and because I had nothing better to do, I spent 2 months working out and dropped 2 clothing sizes. Now I have the same measurements as their model"
... I'm such a lazy f***
I guess it was maybe one of the client's requirements...as this is commercial agreement/deal. :)
@@CP-28 i don't think that they required that she dropped the sizes....the requirements were armor in the model's size. She just stepped up the game and made it easier for her to create the costume.
@@runlittlelamb5115 ah ok....got it....agreed
Karentine in a nutshell
Litrally play minecraft... thats what ive been🙃
I don't even know why this was recommended to me, because normally I have nothing to do with cosplay, but this is GREAT!
Corgi needs EVA armor too, that would kick this up a notch.
JM09
Sort of like the cat armor that was for sale a few years ago online......
I agree.... a battle corgi in armor would be awesome, and would have given her an excuse to take puppers with her on the trip (in the cabin, never let any airline put your doggie anywhere else in the plane... fuck up anyone that tries)...
Your work is so good but your voice is annoying(sorry for this)
Dear Hollywood, these Cosplayers are doing a better job than you.
True
True for a lot of things. TH-camrs making better programs than TV, random drawers doing better art than pro artists, hacker doing better work than the programmers at Google, TH-cam scientist doing more to make people interested in science than scientists, internet in general doing a better job of teaching than schools. I like this development, people realizing they can do better on their own than mass produced junk can ever compete with.
oh really? th-cam.com/video/CEcrgOuBiUM/w-d-xo.html
rusty gray no one does it better than WETA
And for cheaper
"Then just use a laser cutter to..."
yeah until i got to that point i thought " Hey it's actually not that much tools you need, i might try it" xD But still it's a very good video that helped me understand how cosplay armor is made :)
@@19TheDon85 There are other ways to cut acrylic if you are doing onesies, but if you cutting plexiglass a lot, invest for better cuts and faster turnaround.
Plasma and Laser Cutters arent' that expensive anymore.
There are even some home user friendly, tiered down products out there.
Same here. I didn't feel intimidated by those blades on the back, thinking to myself I can do it too. Then I saw the laser and have to rethink a lot of things
K40 Lasercutter is only about 300-400 bucks and very easy to use
i dont know why this was recommended to me, but its goddamn amazing
I guess TH-cam recommendations was doing it’s job then
I know why I got a rec for this: I've been researching for an armor build of my own. I decided on Sintra, not EVA, though.
Me too, why was this in my recommendations? I couldn't careless about cosplay, games or anime, but this is quite incredible.
As soon as the EVA foam armor book realeases, I will BUY YOUR BOOK
+Pixel_Vengeur I'M ON IT!
KamuiCosplay i want to be skilled like you! Your projects are amazing
KamuiCosplay can you do lightbringer armor set from world of warcraft?
Hey KamuiCosplay, This Full EVA Foam Armor - Medion Erazer Girl was so much fun to watch you design, create, and make this Armor. Excellent Job! You Rocked the Suit, so Lovely you are too! Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Thank you for sharing your time, talents, tips, ideas, smile, great attitude, super creative, and fun videos. You make me smile. :D Take care, keep on doing what you love to do, and have a great week. Peace & Joy. Back to more videos :P
Subscribed! Can't wait to get on that foam armor book!
Oh man, this definitely has a few Rest Of The Owl moments, but it definitely makes this seem _way_ more accessible than I previously thought! This is very cool.
I don't know how YT recommendations got me here, especially this late, but I'm impressed.
Yes it is I, then end of the TH-cam algorithm!!
Probably had something to do with armor. That word has been going around alot lately.
That was amazing! :) As someone who created full body foam suits, you really have your craft game on max. So many great ideas and making it look so easy, I wonder how long it took from start to finish.
I made a helmet out of an old pot once.
This comment gave me life
I made one out of an old beach bucket. I feel like you understand me.
i made a ghost costume out of an old blanket
Once i made a costume from a TV box and added a cape, i named myself Super Box XD...
I made one out of a plastic bag, made me black out.
How could anyone thumbs down this tutorial. I personally think you’re brilliant. Very nice work. 2 thumbs way up.
Those are the people who consider getting their mail as too much work.
Maybe because people don't like the idea, that she is basically promoting a supermarket discounter chain...
@@seboritter she is not promoting anything but her book. Also medion is a brand not a discounter chain
I agree, this was a great video, I wish I could do something like this, although i think I would need a few more months to drop those clothes sizes :)
People are just angry they thought EVA meant this was an Evangeleon cosplay.
I must be five years old because I laughed at you saying "boobie cup" 😂
A scholar and gentleman.
Same!
as someone who use to make cosplay costumes for professionals i will tell you, people have no FREAKING CLUE the hard work that goes in to the good detailed costumes. there is a reason they are not cheap.
I don’t know how I got here, but I’m seriously impressed by your skills. Congratulations.
Let's be honest....(cough, cough) .... we're all here for the corgi!!!

You lost 2 clothing sizes? Wow now THAT is committed!

Probably a Ketogenic Diet. It's basically no sugar. No bread, pasta, etc. You basically only eat meat, fish, salads, and cheese. I'm personally on it and lost 20 pounds in a month. I would highly recommend it.
Lord Krythic I'll second the Keto diet. I lost 30 lbs last year on Keto. btw, 20 lbs in 1 month is not really healthy unless you are VERY overweight. 2-3 lbs a week is pretty good.
@@HeadCannonPrime
I went down from 160 to 140. I'm 145 right now. I had an eating disorder when I was younger though, where I for some reason lost the sensation to feel hunger, and this made me not eat for days. I was super skinny. The reason why I'm saying this is because I think my body takes to keto better because my body has already experienced the ketosis to an extreme. Thus why I lost so much weight so quickly.
@@SimonWoodburyForget
The biggest thing you can do is not drink calories or carbs. This means limit your intake to water with zero calorie flavorings, and diet soda which has zero calories and carbs. Negating this from your diet will easily shed excess weight. It's easy to drink carbs and calories, and that's why it's so bad for you.
You did a fantastic job! I'm so impressed by your work!
+T-chan Plays Thank you! :)
I've never seen the duct tape thing. That's brilliant.
Watched this video to see if I could learn something about finishing foam. Wasn't prepared for the incredible work I would be witnessing!
Clearly a lot of work went into it and the result is stunning!
Thank you so much for this full EVA foam armor build guide! I've been following your channel for a few years now but now it's time to start my 1-month (or less!) project in making some EVA foam armor pieces for a cosplay coming up in October 2017, New York Comic Con!
On 4:21, you mentioned using "sealant" after plasti-dip spray --> airbrush --> "sealant", what sealant spray is that if I may ask?
Thank you so much for these guides, you seriously are helping all of us cosplayers around the world!
+Shantanu Zubayer It's acrylic based satin gloss varnish (sealer). :) Goodluck with your project!
How did you go? :D

I have no intentions to build my own armor, nor do I plan on wearing armor but I enjoy watching talented, inventive and motivated artists showcasing their skills. May I also add that the production values and marketing of your channel is top notch.
You make this look easy. Ima just stop at the duct tape part. Looks ok

I'm a long time subscriber and just purchased all your books yesterday, they are all very high quality and very well written! I've built a number of suits of armor but yet i still learned a lot of new things from reading your books. You've given me lots of new ideas. Thanks!!
Thanks so much! I'm glad you find them useful!
I bought a PDF and couldn't be more pleased-- LOTS of good info! Hurrah!
Wait, she's got books?! *checks video description*

You reminded me of the fun I had in creating armor, and to see that it could have done better using these techniques makes me want to cosplay once again after all these years!
"I hate everything" background song I just can't focus on anything else damn it X'D
+Geazaki Cosplay What really? I don't know the song from anywhere else!
Really, he uses that music in his intro in all his videos ahahaha what a coincidence. I'd tell you to check a couple of his videos out to see. But I'm guessing you're very busy, so maybe you don't really have time for that :p
It's free TH-cam music so I'm sure there are even more people that use it xD
Ohh yeah of course. I just pointed it out because I am so used to that song being used by IHE it sounded odd to hear it on your video haha. Anyways, great video! Very helpfull!!
Also paired with the corgi
thank you so much for these tips!! i've been wanting to start making a suit but didnt know how i would make the templates for the foam. Your cosplay looks amazing!!!
That is the most incredible video about this process that i ever saw! Congratulations!

my goodness you guys put so much effort into your videos, just a brilliant watch and super editing. I'm learning so much watching you, thanks! PS WHAT A CUTE CORGI !!!
I can't stress it enough, TH-cam talent supersedes HOLLYWOOD!!!!!
as a beginner this really helped me as it gave me an idea on how to make an armor without asking the internet some patterns!

Wow...I am watching this only 2+ years later but I am amazed and inspired how this cheap material can be made into such awesome looking armor! Somemore you have been commissioned to do this for a company! Well done! Now I also finally know you are from (Southern?) Germany (your accent sounded like it but your name didn't so wasn't too sure...:P). I am a costumer myself but I have not worked with EVA foam yet, hope I can reach your level one day and make maybe a medieval or fantasy armor using EVA foam (due to high flexibility and low costs). I also am inspired seeing you using a laser cutter (isn't it dangerous?) to make those awesome zig-zag strip-away patterns and dremmel and sewing machine to make the rest of the armor. And how you custom made (!) all those under gloves and boot covers (I thought I would have sourced them cheaply online like manufactured from China, anyway that's just my thought to save time and patience, which you seem to have no problems!). Overall awesome and no surprise that the company has asked you to do it, an expert (and cheerful inspiration to other costumers around the world)! Keep it up! 👍👍👍
This is so impressive! Hopefully I can learn to make foam armor as good as this one day!
The belly slap, with original sound effects, is one of the many highlights of this video.

I can't be the only one who sees a super-slick Mandalorian outfit in that!
Its pretty cool stuff, this was from 3 years ago and now popped up randomly, but i think cosplay has really grown into something more serious certainly in the last 5 years at least.
With that dog, you have to make a Faye from Cowboy Bebop cosplay!
WHY AREN'T YOU COSTUMING CELEBRITIES FOR MOVIES?!? I'm absolutely stunned by how easy you made it all look, and to the length you went to get the body form just right, you're a real professional, congratulations just aren't enough...

Awesome and funny and very well done. My favorite material is anything that I can find for temporary sculptures on the beaches
This is going to make creating my armor for my Rouge Jedi outfit so much easier!
That's awesome glad this popped up in my recommendations my nephew is currently in the monsters and aliens phase. and he's been looking into how to make Predator Armor or thinking how to make a Alien Xenomorph for Halloween.
Came for the foam tutorial, subscribed for the Corgis! Zelda and Midna are great Corgi names!!! My Corgi is an only fur child so I probably wont get another one (he needs all the attention) but as a huge fan of the Zelda series, if I did get another, I would probably name them after a character from the Legend of Zelda games.
