there is this cool key bind where you can drop flares and even keep them going without your input, but the a10 pilots don't know this
You're making stuff up! There is definitely no system on the A-10 like that! Do you really think they would put some missile guidance *countering* *measures* on this plane, as if such magic actually existed. 🙄

The A10 players in this were dreadful. Every SU-25 player only had AA missiles and gun pods, while the A10 players were taking out mavericks and rocket pods. Also doesn’t help that the snail modeled the A10 like it was made out of tissue paper
Yeah, A-10 is modeled as though a strong gust of wind will split it in half, meanwhile the SU-25 damage model means it could probably survive a nuclear blast and return to the airfield
Agree entirely. They were playing like NPCs. And the titanium bathtub is treated like it doesn't exist. Or the fact that these A-10's can still fly while missing half of both their wings.

The fact that irl the a10 is famous for its “bathtub” armor… but in game if you click on protection analysis in the menu it says no armor. Meanwhile I’ve hit an su25 with 2 missiles and some bullets and the thing still made it back to the airfield and repaired
Though I’m with the SU-25 team, I need to admit that in the 1st round one of the A-10s did really well even though his wing was almost destroyed

The su-25s were able to kill the A10s with its r60 missiles as the A10 players weren't even using their countermeasures to defend, instead just swerving hard to get the missiles off their tail and firing their flares at the last second

Even as an American main, I knew the SU 25 were going to win from the start. Its superior manoeuvrability would give it an advantage in air to air combat. doesn't prove which was better in their respective role.
Didnt look like the a10 team was cutting their engines when flaring
Seems the tactics of the A-10 team were lacking, carrying Mavericks and Rockets in an all-out Dog fight, not using wingmen and spreading out but flying in a big bundle so the faster SU-25 had much more freedom to choose their attack vector.

I nearly joined this, which excited me as this was the first challenge I actually had a vehicle in, than my work alarm went off. I had to leave. Thought work was in 2 hours not 30 minutes

I think the pilots could’ve been bit more aware of there surroundings seen a lot of them not even attempting to dodge missiles that were fire from right in front of them
A-10 players seem to think there flares substitute dodging, it helps but it ain’t a replacement

Interesting that in WT the Su-25 is more maneuverable than the A-10. In DCS, it's the other way around.

Personally I love the A-10. I’m not from America but the stories I’ve heard of it and the looks of the aircraft itself I personally think are beautiful
unfortunately the A-10 we have in game fucking gets hit and killed by proxy shells. should be heavy shrapnel damage if it’s not a direct hit

The A-10's weren't using any evasive maneuvers along with their flares or chaff in almost any situations until the end. Do these guys even play A-10 consistently, or did you just grab a bunch of randoms who threw random crap on their plane instead of AA missiles because they didn't know better? Either way doesn't put a good light on their skill level with the A-10. These guys were flying like bad AIs, with zero situational and map awareness and very passive target acquisition. Whereas the SU-25s were very aggressive and flying like maniacs, as they should be.
Let's be honest here, the SU-25 was going to win. But you could've given it a better spin by using people who actually know how to use the A-10 and what to arm it with. I mean, Mavericks or rocket pods... for aerial targets? On an A-10? You want me to believe that ANYONE who knows how to use the A-10 would use Mavericks with a straight face and isn't trolling?
It’s insane how much punishment the Su-25 can take, there’s so many instances of them taking a missile and still flying straight. Even when the missile inevitably causes them to burn up and crash, they still manage to pull off a kill.
It's intriguing. Here, the A-10 tend to fall apart, loosing the tail or a wing at each when hit, whereas the Su-25 oftenly still get relatively flyable... Is it related to the explosive mass of the missiles used?

i love gaijin’s bs. the su-25 is a lower br and is arguably better and even tho irl it’s a brick and the a-10 has a faster turn time. in game it’s more maneuverable than the a-10.
Cope. A-10 has better low-speed maneuverability and a more deadly array of stand-off weapons as well as a targeting pod. Plus, double the countermeasures.

Actually, Su-25 is more maneuverable than you expected, you can find many videos of both side's Su-25 in the Ukraine War dodging bunch of MANPADs
@@tongqualin yes but statistically the A-10 is more maneuverable i am not saying they should reduce the maneuverability of the su-25 but the A-10’s turn time needs to be reduced.

We should do A10s with cannons only vs top line axis and soviet fighters of WW2.
A10 is meant to support ground troops so it is armed with that purpose, however su 25 can also be a heavy fighter, that last round 2 pilots were good though
I feel like A-10 players are more braindead and I see more low level players in A-10s that why I knew SU-25 would win from the start
It always depends on the equipment and on the pilots. Like in the second round the a-10s pilots were better then the other rouns, and in the equipment beacuse sometimes the a-10s pilot were using wrong equip for the air superiority
Funnily enough there is a video form Growling Sidewinder were he did an A-10 vs SU -25 in DCS and the A-10 won every time

@@theelectricgamer9889 When GS flown in Su-25 he also beat A-10 with human pilot. It's about using aircraft own strength to the most effective way. The Frogfoot has more T/W so he uses vertical to beat A-10.

This is one of those situations where unironic Russian bias is on full display.
Also, it'd probably be a good idea to implement equipment standards into these kinds of battles. Each aircraft spawns with only its full compliment of its air to air missiles and a minimum amount of fuel. Save the meme load outs with Rocket/Gun Pods and other BS for a final "anything goes" round.

This was cool. I would like to see SU-25 vs A-10 again but focusing in ground attack. Load up an air battle map and let them loose with the condition that they cannot attack each others planes. See how many targets they can knock out.

Why is like most of the players on the A-10 team not using flares?
They do use flares quite a bit but the editing to get everyone’s perspectives cuts a lot of it out unfortunately

Everyone just be glad the SU-34 hasn't been added, it's basically what would happen if the SU-25, an SU-37, and long range recon jet had a threesome baby.
It's a monster, a ground attacker that has manoeuvrability beyond most mainline figters, ludicrous maximum flight range, and a seriously large array of options for both air to air and/or air to ground combat roles, with a maximum payload very similar to the SU-25's, which, while not as extensive as the A-10's, is certainly not small.
It even has a bed, a very smol kitchen, and a toilet for it's two pilot's... because why not.
SU 25 simply because of the no Russian bias but yes. My SU 25 has taken 3 aa missiles and about a hundred rounds of A10 cannon and still killed 2 more planes meanwhile my A10 gets sneezed at and the entire tail comes off. It’s disgusting how weak Gaijin made the A10 for being able to take damage and keep flying.

id like to see a setup situation where say the a10 is providing overwatch for a american set of ground troops then the su25 comes in to provide support for russian troops then they take out ground then dogfight see if one outshines the other in the situations they were made for becuase we wouldnt scramble a a10 to deal with a su but in that situation it would have to happen unless something was on stand by close by last one with a plane and ground troops left wins
Fun fact the su25 looks like the a 10s rejected counterpart the ya9 with basically the same design
The amount of A10s getting hit by R60s when they have the second most amount of flares in the game is absolutely pathetic.

I agree the SU-25 are better at dog fight than an A-10 I also feel the A-10s hardiness is underplayed and both side should have been out fitted 75% ground attack and 25% air to air to make it more even. There by leaving the performance and player abilities to shine.

also, su 25 got better scopes in cockpit, a 10 anti aircraft missiles got longer range, can took off enemy from 4 km while su aa go around 3 km, su 25 got stronger landing gear that u can open flying 500 km\h a 10 landing gear is more delicate barely holds 400 km/h, but it took less to pull down. i prefer the su 25

In real life, the Su-25 would probably outperform the A-10 as a fighter. While both had some dogfighting capability, the Su-25 was always going to need to be able to do it a bit better since the Soviets needed to produce it as a cheap multirole aircraft to sell to other nations, which is why you see so many countries whose primary combat aircraft is the Su-25. So it could perform both fighter missions and attack missions moderately well. The A-10 on the other hand is a very niche aircraft, and it wasn't ever meant to perform fighter missions. Why would it when the F-14, F-15, F-16, and F/A-18 could do it better? So it's better at attack, but not at fighting.

i always felt like the su25 was just a better design for its role, its made for a real ground war, launching from a muddy field, tanking manpaads and dropping bombs, not the a10 that flies from a well maintained airstrip, flying with air cover, and blasts a mud hut with its dramatic gun, its not even as durable as an su25, its more durable than most aircraft, but not by a ton like people seem to think it is.
Oh look we have a Russian main that thinks the su25 is the best aircraft in the world. Look the su25 is a lightweight strike attacker using it's speed and countermeasures to increase it's survivability. The A10 is not an air superiority fighter and it can only be brought in at low altitude with other air superiority fighters providing air cover. The su 25s reality is getting blown out of the skies In Ukraine and if you think it can take on the euro fighters, f22, or the j20 then you are delusional. Also the A10 is designed to crash land with no wheels and has 3 redundant flight control systems. The su25 and A10 have completely different roles in a modern battlefield but keep on thinking the grand Soviet army will rise again.
I wish you would actually look up war documentaries and information on both of these beautiful pieces of engineering before making yourself look like a buffoon. The su25's has some armor for the pilot but they kept it light weight unlike the A10 so it can carry larger amounts of ordinance. The su25's utilizes ECM jammers, chaff, flares and other electronic countermeasures to make it very survivable. The su25's armament is much larger than the a10. I'm done trying explain the difference between the intricate engineering philosophies between Soviet combat doctrine and American combat doctrine. Just know the A10 was given the most armor of any plane thus far that's why it was given the nickname of flying tank. Last note armor and durability is two different aspects that every pilot of each aircraft knows well but will avoid testing either.
More fun facts: as 2024 actual production, the Russians can produce x22 SU25 over A10. 😮
A real SU-25 doesn't get the benefit of a 3rd person perspective.
In real life, both aircraft are mixed bags for me. The cannon really only stands as an intimidation tactic by now, as neither is accurate in any real sense of the world, and while both are touted as being "tank killers", that cannon doesn't do much against modern armor. Hence why they both carry precision-guided munitions. And up until recently, the A-10 had horrible visibility, which is why it has so many friendly fire incidents. I'm guessing the Su-25 has the same issue, only it's too expensive for Russia or other nations to upgrade it and fix that solution. On the other hand, those pertain to CAS/Close Air Support. The A-10 at least does do ok as a cheap ground attack aircraft, being able to loiter and throw munitions at designated targets. But beyond that, it really is better for the F-35 and similar aircraft to perform both roles.
There's a lot of holes in your reasoning and factoids, but I've tossed out like 30 comments over the past two years correcting people so I don't have the energy this time. Just know that you're incorrect about the canon's usefulness against modern armor, the A-10 having high friendly fire counts due to visibility issues, or that the F-35 is worth a damn at a CAS role.

Close Air Support is only worth a damn if you are using precision-guided munitions. That’s something the F-35 can do while flying faster and staying undetected, and having a better ability to defend itself. The A-10 is just outdated.
The A-10A had horrible avionics. Pilots were literally spotting targets using fucking binoculars, hence why you can find video footage of pilots believing they have spotted something like a convoy of rocket launchers before pouring fire into a British tank column.
And finally, in the 1970s, a live-fire test was conducted using the cannon against a static formation of ten M-48 tanks. The pilot fired around 500, 600 rounds if I remember correctly. Of those, only a handful hit any of the tanks, with only a couple dozen penetrating or dealing any meaningful damage. Those conducting the test also concluded that it would have been worthless against tanks like the M-60 or T-72, both of which are far outdated now.
SU-25 wins the dogfight most of the time. A-10 has an advantage in maneuvering but SU-25 has the advantage in speed and flight ceiling. SU-25 just need to go up and say bye bye to A-10.
But if killing tanks is the mission. A-10 is the best aircraft for the job.

This challenge is very unbalanced because some of the players have the premium variant of each vehicle meaning they could be inexperienced with top tier or just the vehicle they are using, for example I have only around 20 hours of experience with the A-4E but this guy that has had a premium a-10 for a while but never used it tried to challenge me and I demolished him WITH AN A-4E. Basically what I am trying to say is only let the players who actually use the research variant and are use to them be in the battle
