The Walmart Moto phone recently got a buddy of mine back on track. He was struggling with addiction and pretty much homeless, and as it goes with the addiction he had sold all his electronics. He had made some bucks helping to tidy up a garage and went to Walmart and got himself that phone, applied for a job, was able to take calls because of the phone number it came with, and now works a full time in a logistics centre. He found a small condo and has been clean for 4 months now, proud of him and thankful for that deal. This can really help people out of a tough spot.

These deals have been getting really good. I got my dad a Samsung A35 for “free” as a Christmas gift. It cost me $87 in total for a month of service with Total wireless (Verizon network), taxes, and $3 to port a Google voice number to them. They will unlock it after two months, and it’s not required to pay a second month of service. Sure, a few hoops to jump through but $87 for a $300 phone on sale is nothing to scoff at!

It's important to understand how long these are locked for. Verizon-based MVNOs are the best because they unlock automatically after 60 days but the ones from MetroPCS need to now be locked for a year of continuous coverage. So they basically become Wi-Fi only devices if you don't plan on using T-Mobile.
It's hilarious that the G Play and the A15 have 90hz displays, but apple can't put anything but 60hz displays in the non pro iPhones that start at $800 😂💀

Dgmw, it doesn’t excuse the fact that Apple should definitely put a higher than 60hz screen on an $800 phone in 2024. I just wish we’d stop pretending the higher number makes all the difference.

A15 5g. Costs 125euros(130,07usd) here, unlimited everything plan with 300Mbps is 19euros/month (19,77usd). Average phone lifetime is 3 years. So what will the cost difference be during this 3 years? Pretty awesome deals you guys have in the US! I wish we had deals like this in MOROCCO but unfortunately never 😅 and the Samsung A15 here in MOROCCO costs 170$ so for 50$ soo cheap
honestly the A15 is one of THE best budget phones out there (along with the Moto G34), its popular in my country because of how much performance and specs it gives for its price, we're seeing a BIG evolution with budget/cheap phones nowadays
I used the A15 from April until recently. I had a love hate relationship with it. I tried to like it & for months I let it's "clunkiness" slide. But, recently I started losing signal with it on Verizon which is suppose to be excellent & so I had to retire that phone. It has a nice screen for a budget phone. It could have just been my phone doing that. I hope everyone else is doing good with it.
@DJdisko181actually that makes it a better deal because Verizon automatically unlocks their prepaid devices after 60 days even if you stop paying. A lot of the T-Mobile based MVNOs require 12 months of paid service to get unlocked
I have a a54 with a 120hz amoled and with a exynos 1380 and 6gb of ram this phone isnt quite snappy at times and slows down alot but its incredibly good for video playback at 1440p to 4k
I like to buy these phones and use them like a tablet to watch content etc. at home. Dont care for the size and price of actual tablets. I usually get 3-4 years out them.
Walmart family mobile is no longer with a partnership with T-Mobile when Verizon bought all the tracfone they move Walmart family mobile over to the Verizon network. I’m just error correcting, other than that I love your content
Im daily driving an A15 and its an okay phone, i paid 300$ CAD tax in for it brand new with a case and screen protectors shipped from Amazon. For the price it's probably the best new phone you can get, the screen looks amazing, battery lasts 2 days if I don't use it much and the cameras are decent for basic photos, but i definitely wouldn't recommend paying full price for one. If its a deal like in this video and you need a phone, go for it. But if you have 300$ to spend on a phone, buying something like a used S21 will be a better purchase
I don't really recommend S21. Go for S20 FE 5G instead. S22 is terrible too due to overheating / battery drain on both Exynos and Snapdragon. S23 or S23+ or S23 Ultra are 3 of the best phone models Samsung ever made though.
The A15 I was planning to get by ordering it online for $99, but then I saw that the a25 was $79, but the thing is I think it was only online ordering for the discounted price (idk lol) but I wanted to get it in person so I just decided the A14 5G, it was still a good acquisition in the end
dont. its terrible deal. the bezels are bigger and uglier than phones that cost half as much. the teardrop notch makes it look like a phone from 2015. the processor is so bad that its slower than my 3 year old motorola that costed me the same as the a15. and it comes with 90 hz when all other phones at this price come with 120 hz. get a redmi note 13, nothing cmf phone 1 or literally anything else. stay away from samsung if you want a phone under $500.
@@Ghoxtfire It's a rage bait, he's overly hating a phone for no reason and then glorifying his motorola for also no reason 😂 At the end of the day phones are only gonna be phones.

5:02 the next strange thing is that you don't have to register number on your name in usa. In europe you must register it under your name in shop, otherwise it won't work
The FCC needs to mandate mandatory network unlocking, with which there wouldn’t be a market for these “free” network unlocked phones! The used market in the UK AND Europe for used network unlocked phones is great.
How long do you have to pay these plans, to unlock the phones? 1 month? 3 months? 6 months? 12 months? Can any of them switch to cheaper plans and still qualify to unlock? Or do any just have a calendar-time unlock, where you pay one month, wait 6 months, and it auto unlocks? I'm not saying I can't think up uses for a phone with no cell plan to use as a camera, a WiFi tablet, or running an app and display for some device like a backup camera or ODBII dongle in a car, a BlueTooth control app/display for an appliance, a lithium battery, an audio component, or whatever.. But I prefer having my utility/tablet phones unlocked and ready to activate (usually on Visible or Twigby in my case) if I break or lose one of my (two) activated phones.
I had a Motorola g play for a while. It was a prepaid phone that I used a regular contract plan on it. I only used it for a few months before I upgraded. The unlock for att is 6 months, which it somehow qualified for even though I didn't actually activate a plan for it
One interesting fact: you can try unlocking bootloaders of these phones, reflash stock rom and lock again. In case of samsungs, you may lose knox security and access to some ss services, but anyway its a very good deal.
@israellazo6964 no more bloatware and u can install whatevet version of android u want including vanilla android or Uis from other manufacturers. Vanilla will make the phone run even smoother than One ui
I'm watching this video on my A15 phone and it works for me. I'm not a fan of the audio quality or the mic and playing some youtube videos the audio has this metallic like sound. During audio recording it's like there's some type of filtering going on and I don't know how to disable it. My last phone had awesome quality mic but was plaqued by lack of storage (16gb)
What's the difference between a fancy expensive phone and a cheap phone if they both make the same phone calls and they make the same messages using the same apps. I don't understand. Expensive or Free they do the same thing and use the same apps.
Expensive phones have more powerful processors to handle system-intensive apps, multitasking, and future OS updates. They also have better display, more RAM and internal storage. While a budget phone will run similar apps, you won't get as many features or slower performance because the hardware is weaker and usually outdated.
it is very much surprising that a brand like "Samsung" we are getting those preinstalled Unwanted application Even when Samsung is included in one of those "premium brands" sad to see this happen in such a "huge" company.....
I'm currently, and right now daily driving the Samasung Galaxy A15, and it is so much better than the Motorola G Pure I had for 2 years. Plus the upside is I get 5G Unlimited for $45 a month and all I have in my area is Verizon tower for service. Definitely a 9/10 for me.
yeah of course its better than the g pure. youre comparing a $150 with a $200 dollar phone. and thats the only thing that the a15 is better than. start comparing it to the competetion and its worse than everything else. huge bezels and teardrop notch that are only seen in phones that cost half as much. terrible performance thats literally worse than my 3 year old motorola that costs the same $200. the screen isnt impressive either, 90 hz while other phones have 120 hz. its only a 9/10 if you pretend that other phones dont exist at this price point. terrible value for money, the only reason this hot garbage sells is because its made by samsung. its a 2/10 at most.
For 99 bucks you were able to get the Moto g stylus 2024 as long as you bought one plan of Straight talk or visible and they will automatically unlock after 60 days. Although I don't think the deals up anymore I hope it comes back
I got a Samsung a15 as my main phone recently and I’m pleasantly surprised, no regrets. I got it for like 80 bucks which is basically a steal for a phone as good as it is.
its only good as long as youre ignorant enough to not do research about other phones, and think that amsung would be the best. the phone is trash. the bezels and notch are so big that it looks like a phone that costs half as much. the performance is so bad that its worse than phones even from 3 years ago that launched at the same price. the screen is 90 hz but that terrible processor isnt even powerful enough to maintain 90 hz all the time. not to mention that the competetion offers 120 hz. the 4 years of updates are useless because the phone isnt even powerful enough to handle an android version that'll come out 2 years from now. its a hot pile of garbage even in front of 3 year old phones. theres nothing good about it.
Im gonna let you all know youll need a OSL employee. I work for OSL as a wireless sales manager we always have the best deals for any carrier we primarily sell ATT VZW and TMO no contracts. All carriers dont do contracts anymore.
You can also get free phones from Internet carriers almost the same way in Canada except they don’t come from Walmart you go to the registration center and blah blah blah sign contracts… that’s it. You also have to pay for an Internet plan for it.
Phone data is a lot more expensive in America, actually quite shocking. You can get many different plans like that in the uk from around £10 (no conytract)
It's a large, sparsely-populated country with high labor costs so the upkeep costs for the networks are quite high (before you even get into the greed factor). As a percentage of income though, it's not that expensive. For most Americans, a plan like this is ~1-2% of their monthly income.
Love my Samsung A14. It was Total Wireless, but Verizon acquired them. It's now Total Verizon. I get the $45 a month deal for unlimited talk and texting, with 15GB high speed data and Hotspot.
Crazy thing is that the bloat auto installing is not isolated to these small sub-carriers, I put my T-Mobile SIM in an unlocked phone and it immediately started downloading crap, had to use developer options to disable the app responsible since you cannot do so from settings.
Damn that Revvl is the only one that doesn't Auto install bloatware I think you can disable that in the play store, or in system I have a Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra from TIM Italy (I live in NL), but it's unlocked, got zero bloatware Auto installed, just a few TIM apps and thats it!

@@abdulmomin7501 You mean the other way because if you test games on helio lineup , it has better performance in games , helio g99 can play fortnite at 30 fps stable while dimensity 6100+ can't handle the game and keep struggling at 20fps
Wait really then I'm lucky to get the 4g version because so far without charging with only basic use it can last 2 days for me (screen time 4 hours daily)

that A15 is an excellent deal. Cool phone for basically free. I really like that smart phones have become so cheap to produce that you can get a really solid phone for basically free
A15 5g. Costs 125euros(130,07usd) here, unlimited everything plan with 300Mbps is 19euros/month (19,77usd).
Average phone lifetime is 3 years. So what will the cost difference be during this 3 years?
USA: 1800euros (1873,02usd)
Northern Europe: 809euros (841,82usd)
So in 3 years the phoine will be 991euros (1 031,20usd) cheaper in Northern Europe. And i bet both my balls that the reception and infra here is better in general.
That is a trash deal. who in their right mind would be dumb enough to get that?... ohh yeah, it is USA, so prolly plenty. USA really is just a 3rd world clown factory :D
That is literally a new iphone and 3 months data more every 3 years XD
And this mofo calls it a "deal" XD "this deal wont last forever" "budget phone" lmao. AND IT IS 200USD NORMALLY????? jesus. USA really is a backwards shithole,
That motorola here is currently 73 euros...75,69usd... and it comes without bloatware, like motorolas do.
Fun fact: You have the 5G version of the A15, so you actually have the Dimensity 6100. I also use the A15, and mine is unlocked, so it doesn't come with bloatware.
Dimensity 6100 +
Gentle reminder about the "free" phones. To get them for free, MAKE SURE SOMEONE FROM OSL IS THERE. REGULAR EMPLOYEES CANT DO IT.
yes correct
OSL?
What's OSL?

THANK YOU for appreciating Ali and the other workers!!
I’ve seen these free phones here in Canada too. But I’ve noticed that they never ever have Apple devices free. It’s always older or almost obsolete Android devices.
I never knew there were some solid deals at walmart of all places on phones. Thought they were just usual contact deals but I'm glad it's not

I have a A15 that i daily it's really good and im a gamer that plays fortnite and it gets about 25 to 30 fps with performance mode and game booster plus also the auto downloads are easy to stop and delete and it will get android 19 when it comes out
walmart family mobile uses verizon now since it was bought by tracfone some time around 2021-2022
Pretty awesome deals you guys have in the US! I wish we had deals like this in MOROCCO but unfortunately never 😅 and the Samsung A15 here in MOROCCO costs 170$ so for 50$ soo cheap
the a15 is really good.. i bought it for my brother as he really needed a phone and he loves it
honestly the A15 is one of THE best budget phones out there (along with the Moto G34), its popular in my country because of how much performance and specs it gives for its price, we're seeing a BIG evolution with budget/cheap phones nowadays
These cheap phones will do 95 percent of the things that 95 percent of people need them to do maybe not as fast though. Just my opinion.
if ya call that budget phone on my country your straight up crazy 😭🙏
I've been using a Moto G Play 2024 since mid Nov 2024. It get the basics done, which is all you really need.
Family mobile is actually on Verizon not T-Mobile
Yeah my bad
@johnzoid74 I wasn't trying to be rude ... Sorry. Also you commented back!!!
Thanks man! Yeah my bad I misspoke couple times in the video
I have an A15 I am paying $5 a month for through Spectrum. It's a good phone.
The A15 I was planning to get by ordering it online for $99, but then I saw that the a25 was $79, but the thing is I think it was only online ordering for the discounted price (idk lol) but I wanted to get it in person so I just decided the A14 5G, it was still a good acquisition in the end
did you pay full price or less than $100? because that hot pile of garbage is only worth it for $100.
A25 is same chipset as A53 with 6GB RAM the A15 is low end 4GB RAM phone.
That a15 is a good deal. I’m going to go buy one.
Buy what? It's free. 😅
@ you gotta pay for the plan
dont. its terrible deal. the bezels are bigger and uglier than phones that cost half as much. the teardrop notch makes it look like a phone from 2015. the processor is so bad that its slower than my 3 year old motorola that costed me the same as the a15. and it comes with 90 hz when all other phones at this price come with 120 hz.
get a redmi note 13, nothing cmf phone 1 or literally anything else. stay away from samsung if you want a phone under $500.

1:39 THAT'S THE PHONE IM WATCHING ON
5:02 the next strange thing is that you don't have to register number on your name in usa. In europe you must register it under your name in shop, otherwise it won't work
The FCC needs to mandate mandatory network unlocking, with which there wouldn’t be a market for these “free” network unlocked phones! The used market in the UK AND Europe for used network unlocked phones is great.
Are you in the comments already? Go watch the video first!!!
How did you know????!!! I was waiting for the ads tho ...

I think for total you gotta pay for 2 months then it's unlocked and don't have to pay. For other carriers it depends
Please elaborate on why one would want to try this.
@israellazo6964 no more bloatware and u can install whatevet version of android u want including vanilla android or Uis from other manufacturers. Vanilla will make the phone run even smoother than One ui
No need to unlock bootloader in most cases, just wait until there is an available software update then download the stock new rim and flash.
It’s so weird that you live in my town lol that’s my Walmart!
What you mean your Walmart like you own it?
Looking forward to your experiences with each of these.
I really do appreciate how you don’t just destroy perfectly good tech, even if it’s cheap or bootlegged
What's the difference between a fancy expensive phone and a cheap phone if they both make the same phone calls and they make the same messages using the same apps. I don't understand. Expensive or Free they do the same thing and use the same apps.
Yes but one can hold more apps open and doesnt lag and stutter opening apps.
Expensive phones have more powerful processors to handle system-intensive apps, multitasking, and future OS updates. They also have better display, more RAM and internal storage.
While a budget phone will run similar apps, you won't get as many features or slower performance because the hardware is weaker and usually outdated.
it is very much surprising that a brand like "Samsung" we are getting those preinstalled Unwanted application Even when Samsung is included in one of those "premium brands" sad to see this happen in such a "huge" company.....
its Tracfone branded samsung model number is totally different than retail.
Well u arent buying a premium smartphone to begin with.
This was the first video ive ever seen in hdr and my life is changed
My aunt is rocking the A15 5G on T-Mobile. It's ok at best but I would've loved to get her the A55 5G
non american here, cant we root and re-flash these phones and use our choice of carrier ?
Delete or disable the autoinstallers. Then uninstall the apps or they will keep installing.
That a15 has uw?! For a freaking budget phone? Wow highly unexpected
Tracfone models are for Verizon Bands its SM-S156V different from unlocked retail SM-A156U1
@jaggsta still pretty good
8:35 I have had an A15 since April 2024 and I love it!
Can you get this free and not do a plan? Like use it for web browsing wifi only?
For 99 bucks you were able to get the Moto g stylus 2024 as long as you bought one plan of Straight talk or visible and they will automatically unlock after 60 days. Although I don't think the deals up anymore I hope it comes back
Straight talk Moto Edge 2024 is Free with 3 month Silver plan $130 its 256GB and Snapdragon 7s
I got a Samsung a15 as my main phone recently and I’m pleasantly surprised, no regrets. I got it for like 80 bucks which is basically a steal for a phone as good as it is.
Can it handle heavy games like pubg or codm?

What’s uuuup dude
my friend and i were at walmart, my phone slipped out my hand and the screen SHATTERED, he paid for the A15 and im still using it, its good
its only good as long as youre ignorant enough to not do research about other phones, and think that amsung would be the best. the phone is trash.
the bezels and notch are so big that it looks like a phone that costs half as much. the performance is so bad that its worse than phones even from 3 years ago that launched at the same price. the screen is 90 hz but that terrible processor isnt even powerful enough to maintain 90 hz all the time. not to mention that the competetion offers 120 hz. the 4 years of updates are useless because the phone isnt even powerful enough to handle an android version that'll come out 2 years from now.
its a hot pile of garbage even in front of 3 year old phones. theres nothing good about it.
@SmitePlayz1 shut up already. 😂
The mediatek dimensity 700 was the first actually usable mediatek chip long term. They still use it? Couple years old chip.
The A15 is awesome! Also happen to have the new A16 5G, not yet out in the U.S.
What do you do with all these phones? I've had the same one for 9 10 years just now considering a new one.

These phones are apparently locked to each carrier. You should look into that. I don't think you can use other carrier sims in those phones.

Crazy thing is that the bloat auto installing is not isolated to these small sub-carriers, I put my T-Mobile SIM in an unlocked phone and it immediately started downloading crap, had to use developer options to disable the app responsible since you cannot do so from settings.
Damn that Revvl is the only one that doesn't Auto install bloatware
I think you can disable that in the play store, or in system
I have a Motorola RAZR 40 Ultra from TIM Italy (I live in NL), but it's unlocked, got zero bloatware Auto installed, just a few TIM apps and thats it!
