  • Hey guys, in this video I wanted to break down my go to knot the Miller Knot. This has been by far the strongest knot I've ever tied as a main line knot. I hope you guys enjoy this vid, and hope it puts some biggens in the boat for you like it has for me. Please don't forget to subscribe.

    My man I appreciate it! Definitely gonna use this knot. If a beast fisherman with a fresh taper is giving free game, you gotta use it. Thanks bro!

    Mark, Just watched Matt Stefan’s pitch on this knot, in which he referenced you teaching him. Just wanted to say I use this knot 95% of the time. I did some head to head testing of the Miller versus the Trilene knot (another knot with 2 wraps around the hook eye) and the Miller won hands down. Tying each end of a section of 10 Lb test mono to 2 different hooks, one with a Miller knot and one with a Trilene knot, I pulled the hooks apart to see which would win. In multiple tests, the Miller knot beat the Trilene knot by a margin of 7 wins Miller for every 1 win Trilene. Big fan of yours. Thanks for sharing. Watched your video to make sure I was capturing any nuances. God bless.

    Funny that you use a saltwater knot but your from the Bay Area also Ben using the Miller knot since I was 10 years old iam an old commercial fisherman I used it for strippers in the bay o 6lb test so the knot holds . Glad to see a pro fisherman like yourself using it.

    I grew up tying the Rapala knot&the Trilene knot...was always my confidence knot as a kid even though I know it would get loose over time(not in a days fishing but storing gear for a week they would give)...this Miller knot looks like a great adaptation of how those start(that final loop twist around the mainline before pulling tag end through to tighten down)& condenses the knot into a cleaner final package...happy this came up randomly in my suggested videos😎

      Trilene knot simply does not hold up as well, not even the upgraded Trilene knot, I have lost fish and lures with both. All I care about is performance and this knot, Miller for terminal tackle is nearly as strong as the line itself, in fact it's just as strong. I tested it by breaking some line, 12 lb test sometimes the line will break above the knot before the knot breaks.

    This is the best knot to have confidence with. I like Palomar too, but this is just better.

    Big Mike Fishing Chronicles
    I have a question I am a little bit lost I hear some people say they fish jigs with braid and I hear some that they use fluorocarbon but then I hear people say that they use fluorocarbon because the fish can not see it but that is not true because I have fished fluorocarbon and I have seen the but gill bitting at the line so in my mind if the bluegill see it then the bass do too can you please shed some light on this, please

    MDJ u ever seen the shark knot my uncle fishes for sharks for Gov. And he ties a shark knot.. I say it's been tested to never break cause it's not a knot it's a clintch style that gets stronger as u pull on it.. yes it easy to do with 3 tag on it ... zona says like everyone who has used it says never seen a knot this strong

    • @handyandqu
      @handyandqu 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      MDJ is well aware, Gerald Swindle has been talking about that knot for years, don't know why Zona pointed it out late 2020.
