Im an industrial electrician but I can’t stop watching your videos . Your minimal essential tool carry outlook has streamlined my tool bag and helped me get out of the tool trends . Keeping it simple is the way to go , I appreciate your videos !
finding information first then bring what is most likely what you need to test or replace based on what the issue is reported as. for no heat calls i always bring a filter and if they say the heats working some of the time i bring a drill with extension to get to the flame sensor and if ican reach it good enough il use a dollar bill to wipe off the white. a/c call i always bring meter to verify power and bad connections.
Really like your videos any advice on what type of multi meter to buy , i do apartment maintenance just now our director wants us to start doing some hvac work any advice
I think any meter that can read mfd is good. Eventually you start liking different brands because of size or practicality. But I believe any meter would do good to start as long as it can test mfd and ohms. My suggestion to guys that want to learn hvac 8s to watch as many youtube videos as possible. It's boring at the beginning because you don't completely understand what is happening but eventually as you learn more it becomes really interesting. Best of luck!!
I bought the 8 in 1 and went back to the magnetic 11-in-1 with a service valve bit. The 8 in1 slide nut driver head is too bulky and never fits in most of the places I need it for.
My question to you is how is it these property management want us tech to troubleshoot a split system HVAC when the pay should be more here in nyc it’s only 25 an hour the market rate for havc pay is higher. I only have my epa 1 working on 2 any advice..
My advice is to concentrate on core and type 2. If you go for universal it's more numbers and much more confusing to memorize everything. You can always add type 1 and 3 later

What do you think about adding a single test pressure gauge just to verify the unit is not flat or low?
I was thinking of getting a digital gauge to put in that bag. I do carry a single gauge in my backpack. It definitely is a good idea!! Thanks!!
Do you have any advice to pass the 608 exam on the first try?

Do you carry an 3 amp popper?
Yea, not in that bag though. I only diagnose with that. I do always have one in the truck though.
