WE MISSED OUR BUS TO JAIPUR!! | India Travel Vlog #5

  • YES, we missed our bus from Agra to Jaipur and got stranded at the bus station! The bus company we went with was Redbus, which we has successfully used from Delhi to Agra!
We tried trains, buses and even private buses before we finally found a travel agent who hooked us up with a sleeper bus with AC. There were buses on the hour which went to Jaipur, but all were very uncomfortable and non-AC. Not something that is your first choice for a 5 hour journey!

Honestly in India I always took the super cheap local buses for journeys during the day. They leave all the time and are often faster than the more expensive ones. No AC but I honestly don't care

AC buses are only 100 rupees more expensive then the non-ac ones lol

Most Indian people do understand english & will help you .. You just need to ask .. Even if they cant do anything for you, they will tell you what options you have there.. and you can get suggestions from a lot of people to make sure what you want to do .. People here are inherently helpful unless it involves police or criminals.. then only people do not want to get into it.
Hope everyone has a great time in our country.
    Peace

This happened to me in Mexico -- and of course I don't speak Spanish. And most Mexicans don't speak English (nor was I expecting them to...). Instead of taking 1 bus to my destination, I wound up taking 3 and added a good 3 hours to my travel time. Then I got to my final destination and tried to get a cab to my airbnb -- and no one understood the address I had written down. I called my host, but my phone wasn't working in the local area. And the woman selling cab tickets refused to let me use her phone. Eventually, some cab driver took pity on my ass and drove me around for about an hour until he found the place. I gave him the money, plus at least 3 times extra for his trouble. He looked at me crazy and asked if I was sure. I was never so happy to be somewhere.

Let me say Aly I thought you were on drugs when I first started watching. Sorry drug/alcohol counselor here. But now I know it's your quirky sense of humor that I enjoy watching! You are so open minded! It has been my dream for so long to travel to India! Of course here in the west I get a lot of nay sayers like "why would you want to go there so dirty and dangerous for women?!" I simply reply- the people and culture!! I am soooo fascinated with Indian culture! Thank you thank you! For your vlogs about India! I'm hooked!

Omg I hate this part of travel, even if everything works but I can't figure out how it works. First days anywhere trying to get around. I get so annoyed. It depends though if I am not on a schedule it's fine I can deal. But say I have to get back to work tomorrow (remotely in a place I've never been) or have a tour planned or whatever I would be stressed AF. Especially if I am alone, everything is worse on my own. With other people as well I am more chill (unless I am too sleep deprived or getting hangry). At the same time these experiences ultimately make me a more chill person with other things because you learn you will be fine in the end and you had worse before.... so I hate it in the moment but I am grateful to be able to become a better and more patient person because of it.
